LEGACY YOUTH MINISTRIES JULY 3 rd 6 th 2014 A CALL TO REPOSITION OUR HEARTS In this hour of history, we need young adults who respond by a true rending of their hearts, pursuing the one thing, which will satisfy the ache within. With great revival coming which will shake everything that can be shaken, the only way to stand is with hearts fully in love and given to the SON OF GOD.
LEGACY YOUTH MINISTRY WHAT IS LYM (Legacy Youth Ministry) LYM is an interdenominational Christian youth training organization under Youth With A Mission Belize. LYM is a network of youth leaders across the nation of Belize; working together in a deliberate plan of action for equipping our young people with truth and instructions in how to walk in righteousness before our God. LYM is a youth ministry powered-up and being led by a team of youth leaders from within Belize who feel a call from the Lord to serve the purpose & destiny of the youths in the nation of Belize. LYM Vision & Mission: By God s Grace & leading LYM seeks to develop and call forth a generation of young Belizeans who will rise up & fulfill their God-given destinies. LYM desires to network the Christian youths of our nation, from the north to the south, east to the west, for the common vision of Kingdom advancement. This is achieved through conferences, mission outreaches, youth rallies & training times/resources for youth leaders. LYM desires to see this generation impacted with God s truth & be empowered to be faithful witnesses for Him in this hour. We have stepped forward in seeing this plan realized through conferences leading into mission outreach (locally & internationally). A major part of our focus pertains to international missions preparation & outreaches so that the youth of our nation will become aware that Belize DOES have something to offer to the nations of the earth. We firmly believe that stepping out in this area will help break the receiving mentality. When God looks for someone to fill the Gap on behalf of the nation, Legacy is prepared & positioned to declare, Here am I leading Belize into its destiny through a righteous peer pressure. We desire to see a Legacy of men and women who passionately love God and lay down their lives for the Gospel. MANDATE Legacy is geared towards stirring youth to embrace the challenge of reaching this generation at home and across the world imparting valuable principles, and having a strategy to be able to connect young people of our country with truth and therefore enhancing their ability to walk in a different spirit. It s Jesus heart for us to BE ONE as He and the Father is one We recognize that in order for Belize to change, it will take the joint effort of youth leaders from across our nation.
ROOM GUIDELINES Always turn off lights or fans before you leave a room. No alcohol, tobacco or drug use of any sort is permitted on our campus. We do have security dogs (they are not pets please do not tease or try and feed them your fingers). Shirts are required at all times. We ask that campers be dressed modestly while they are on the campus. Please respect the privacy of members of the opposite sex regarding the dormitories. There should not be any lingering in or near any housing locations by members of the opposite sex. Please respect one another s needs in the housing areas. Be considerate with music & loud noise (it should be limited). Please respect each other s property and the property that you are on. Respect it better than you would your own home. There is a required clean up time at the end of the camp. The campus must be left clean and tidy better than the way you received it.
Legacy Youth Ministries Dress Standards Our love relationship with God is internal/heart oriented with loving boundaries set in place to live by. God has built His laws into man, allowing us to know right and wrong. We understand these laws through our heart or conscience, but sometimes that gets snared. God then gives us the law to affirm what was already written on our hearts. In that light we ll share some thoughts on the dress code ; NOT to make more rules but to shed light on an important issue of our daily lives. As children of God we must recognize the value God has placed on His children; value requires honor and respect. God created us with precision and accuracy, He didn t use left overs, and He created us in His own image, Incredible truth! God gave us two important commands 1) that we love Him with all our being and 2) that we love our neighbor also. So, it s safe to say that when we dress we should keep our brother and sister in mind. Our attire should not present an opportunity for others to be tempted. (It s true - you cannot cause anyone to sin, but the way you dress surly can present an opportunity for them to be tempted). Outward change is futile unless it comes from inward transformation. Ponder this - What does your choice of clothing say about you? Ladies in particular - Does your attire help or hinder your male friends to walk in the purity God desires of them? Do you dress to impress anyone looking OR do you desire to please The Lord in ALL your ways? Does your outfit physically allow you to radically worship the Lord without revealing all kinds of body parts!? (Can you dance with all your might? Raise your hands HIGH in surrender? Fall on your knees in brokenness? Etc, etc, etc ) with these thoughts in mind prayerfully consider the following dress code? Again, this is not a legalistic plea for holiness and purity, it s a challenge to release even this area of your life to your loving Savior and allow Him to transform you. DRESS CODES FOR Gals: Halter tops, low-cut, spaghetti strap tops or dresses are inappropriate. Modest tank tops that are wide strapped and not tight fitting are allowed. Shorts are totally fine, but they must be MODERATE in length. Moderate meaning the shortest being a hand length above the knee. Clean, loose fitting pants, jeans or capri s can be worn - We want to maintain a good balance between respect and comfort No mini skirts are allowed, when sitting no upper thigh/leg must be showing. Slits in skirts or dresses must be below the knees. Slips should be worn under loose, flowing skirts (they have a tendency to be see through in the sunlight!)
DRESS CODES FOR Guys: Shorts may be worn on campus, but must be moderate in length. Beards and mustaches should be neatly groomed. We want to maintain a good balance between formality and comfort; Long shorts or pants are appropriate. Pants should be worn at waist level No Sagging We realize this dress code is not necessary for everyone. However, past situations brought us to a place of needing to set guidelines and we appreciate your cooperation. Thank You, LYM Team
