2 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord s people. Water is life. -Ephesians 6:18 Think of all the ways you use water each day: drinking, cooking, cleaning, bathing, gardening, and more. In some areas of our world, clean water is not accessible. Communities are forced to walk several miles for water or settle for using dirty water. We believe each human is made in the image of God. We honor that by providing dignity and basic necessities like clean water. How can you help? You can pray. We invite you to pray over the next 30 days for the communities and families that are thirsty for clean water and the Living Water. How to use this prayer guide: COMMIT to pray for clean water for the next 30 days. SHARE these prayers with your friends, family, or church family. Ask them to join you in prayer. 3 DAY 1 Ask God to rescue communities with little water access from drought and starvation. So I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey... -Exodus 3:8 DAY 2 Pray for rural villages that are working hard to drill wells, install hand pumps, and train their residents to maintain the pumps. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. -Isaiah 40:29 DAY 3 The common saying, water is life, describes reality for small rural villages in Sub-Saharan Africa. Pray locals will survive the catastrophic effects of ongoing drought. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters -Psalm 23:2 DAY 4 Pray for projects in Central Asia that are providing communities with the first clean water wells they ve ever enjoyed. Let us acknowledge the Lord; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth. -Hosea 6:3 DAY 5 Ask God to heal the millions around the world who suffer from debilitating waterborne illnesses. But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. -Isaiah 40:31 DAY 6 BGR partners are distributing water filters to schools in a Southeast Asian region. Pray they can effectively help children who have no access to clean water. Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger. -Psalm 8:2 DAY 7 Ask God to grant BGR teams endurance, wisdom, faith, and compassion as they enter villages and provide water filters to families and schools. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit. -Jeremiah 17:8 DAY 8 Ask God to give BGR community health teachers wisdom as they teach Southeast Asian villagers about water sanitation, waterborne illnesses, and good hygiene. For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. -Proverbs 2:6 DAY 9 Clean water is becoming harder and harder for people to access in many rural parts of the world. Pray for BGR partners who are using a simple water filtration process as the centerpiece of clean water programs. Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord. -Psalm 31:24 DAY 10 Pray teams that are testing water sources in a region of South Asia can help communities find clean water supplies. I call on the Lord in my distress, and he answers me. -Psalm 120:1

4 DAY 11 Pray for churches that are working with their local communities to find better sources of clean water. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. -2 Corinthians 9:8 DAY 12 Pray for volunteer teams that travel to many parts of the world to install wells for communities in need. And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones who is my disciple, truly I tell you, that person will certainly not lose their reward. -Matthew 10:42 DAY 13 Pray for the safety of well-digging crews as they use picks and sledgehammers to construct hand-dug wells in an area where underground rocks prohibit the use of drilling machines. But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you. -Psalm 5:11 DAY 14 Pray for those who must walk long distances to obtain drinking water during the dry seasons of the year. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. -Psalm 23:4 DAY 15 Pray Christ s love will touch villagers hearts as BGR partners install water wells in their communities. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them. -John 7:38 DAY 16 Pray for communities in West Africa that only have a few closed wells with hand pumps, forcing women to rise early in the morning and get in line to draw water. Jesus answered her, If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water. -John 4:10 DAY 17 Pray for villages where natural springs of water have dried up and residents greatly need deep wells. The burning sand will become a pool, the thirsty ground bubbling springs -Isaiah 35:7 DAY 18 Pray for communities where the lack of clean water has caused a domino effect in the health of families and children. Nevertheless, I will bring health and healing to it; I will heal my people and will let them enjoy abundant peace and security. -Jeremiah 33:6 DAY 19 In some areas, water has become very expensive. Pray for the poor and needy, especially the elderly, who have no means to purchase clean water. Then will the lame leap like a deer, and the mute tongue shout for joy. Water will gush forth in the wilderness and streams in the desert. -Isaiah 35:6 DAY 20 Pray for rural villages that have outgrown their infrastructure for clean water access and now must find new water sources. For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land a land with brooks, streams, and deep springs gushing out into the valleys and hills -Deuteronomy 8:7

5 DAY 21 Pray for communities where natural disasters, such as floods and landslides, have wreaked havoc on existing water systems. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. -Philippians 4:7 DAY 22 Pray for regions of the world where the water contains organic material and microbes from fecal and garbage pollution. This contamination negatively affects people s health as well as the normal growth and development of children. But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds, declares the Lord -Jeremiah 30:17 DAY 23 Pray BGR water projects will be completed on time, without disruptions and interruptions in the work. The Lord is righteous in all his ways and faithful in all he does. The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. -Psalm 145:17-18 DAY 24 Ask God to give BGR partners and local churches wisdom as they work alongside rural villages to analyze water problems and develop solutions. For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless. -Psalm 84:11 DAY 25 Pray those who receive wells and water filters will also find the Living Water to satisfy their souls and spirits. But whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life. -John 4:14 DAY 26 Pray communities will unite as they tackle problems associated with inadequate water supplies. Each one will be like a shelter from the wind and a refuge from the storm, like streams of water in the desert and the shadow of a great rock in a thirsty land. -Isaiah 32:2 DAY 27 Pray for communities that are vulnerable to malnutrition and dehydration because of poor water quality and limited access to water sources. You care for the land and water it; you enrich it abundantly. The streams of God are filled with water to provide the people with grain, for so you have ordained it. -Psalm 65:9 DAY 28 Pray BGR partners can successfully construct spring-fed water systems for Central Asian villages that currently rely on dirty canals and rivers for primary drinking water sources. For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants. -Isaiah 44:3 DAY 29 Pray church leaders will find favor with government officials as they apply for permits to install water wells in needy communities. May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us yes, establish the work of our hands. -Psalm 90:17 DAY 30 Pray for extremely remote villages that are located several kilometers away from water sources, making clean, safe water is a top priority. May he be like rain falling on a mown field, like showers watering the earth. -Psalm 72:6
