3 DISCOVER God's Love Jesus' Word in Your Heart Share: Share a time when you received a card or special gift. How did it make you feel? Share a time you felt God s love in a personal way. Reflect: Write your name at the top of the valentine. Read Jesus letter to you and the Bible passage at the bottom of the page. Think about what these things are saying to you. How does it make you feel to know that Jesus loves you so personally? To: I love you more than you could possibly imagine. You are so precious to me. Know that everything in your life is important to me. I know your hurts and fears and dreams. My love for you does not depend on what you accomplish. I simply love you for you. I hold you close to my heart, and I will never let you go. Come to me and receive all that I want to give you. Love, Be Mine Jesus Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I dedicated you, a prophet to the nations I appointed you. (Jeremiah 1:5) What was the word you heard Jesus say to you? Write down what you heard: Surprised Happy Grateful Peaceful Loved Today you experienced God's personal love in a new way! Circle all the words that describe how you feel: Amazed Joyous Excited Safe Special Healed Overwhelmed Protected Fulfilled Honored Blessed Good Inspired Motivated Energized Excited Calm Encouraged Astonished Hopeful Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name: you are mine. For I, the Lord, am your God, the Holy One of Israel, your savior. Because you are precious in my eyes and honored, and I love you, I give people in return for you and nations in exchange for your life. Fear not, for I am with you. 4 UNDERSTAND Sin and the Good News of Jesus Christ RESPOND and INVITE Jesus into Your Life Share: Think of a time when someone was mean to you. How did you feel? What happened to your friendship? The Sin of Adam and Eve By disobeying God and eating the fruit from a forbidden tree, Adam and Eve turned away from God and lost their closeness to Him. Share: Why is sin such a serious problem? How does it make you feel to know that Jesus died on the cross for you? What are some ways that people sin? Write the sins on the fruit of the tree. 1. In the purple circles, write people, activities, and things that are important to you. 2. In the center shape, write JESUS. 3. Now that you have invited Jesus to be the center of your life, reflect on ways in which Jesus can be a part of these friendships, activities, and things in your life. 4. Write these ways on the lines.
