5 COULD YOU PASS THE U.S. CITIZENSHIP TEST? To become a naturalized citizen, immigrants have to demonstrate that they can read, write and speak English. They also have to pass a 10-question civics test, the likes of which you probably haven t seen since 11th grade American History. Who wrote the Declaration of Independence? INDEPENDENCE DAY JULY 4TH On July 4, 1776, we claimed our independence from Britain and Democracy was born. Every day thousands leave their home land to come to the land of the free and the home of the brave so they can begin their American Dream. The United States is truly a diverse nation made up of dynamic people. Each year on July 4, Americans celebrate that freedom and independence with barbecues, picnics and family gatherings. Through the internet we are learning about and communicating with people of different nation, with different languages and different races throughout the world. Bringing the world closer with understanding and knowledge can only benefit all nations. We invited all nations to celebrate with Americans online this Fourth of July. Happy Birthday, America!! Lutheran Family Service counselors are privileged to witness the transformation of lives as God extends grace by faith to people at the point of their greatest need. This is a Family VBS, all ages are welcomed and encouraged! We are kicking things off with a Walking Taco and Ice Cream social, July 23rd at 5:30pm. A free-will donation will be taken to help cover VBS costs. In order for us to prepare the right amount of food, please sign up on the sheet provided in the Narthex. FAMILY PICTURES FOR THE 2017 PICTORIAL DIRECTORY Starting Today, photographs are being taken for inclusion in the 2017 pictorial directory that we re hoping to complete before our next pastor arrives. Please sign up on the sheet in the southwest corner of the fellowship hall when your family is ready to pose. Photos will be taken on a walk-up basis before worship and during fellowship time.
