Il-Kunċert ittella mill-banda tal-forzi Armati ta Malta, bil-kollaborazzjoni ta RTK4Charity u bil-korteżija tal- Fondazzjoni tal-kon-katidral ta San Ġwann, taħt il-patroċinju distint tal-e.t. il-president ta Malta, Marie Louise Coleiro Preca. Il-Banda tal-forzi Armati ta Malta kienet taħt id-direzzjoni tas-surmast il-maġġur John Ivan Borg, u daqqet kompożizzjoni li nkitbet għall-okkażjoni bl-isem: ISPIRAZZJONI DIVINA, kitba ta Sunny Aquilina, muzika ta Mro Ray Sciberras. Jiehdu sehem is-sopran Rosabelle Bianchi, il-coro Bel Canto u l-kor tat-tfal mill-kullegg De La Salle. 2

To guide students growth in faith and spirituality through formal and informal catechesis. b. To identify and reach out to students who are starting having difficulty in appreciating the relevance of religion in their life. c. To train students to read and understand Scripture, in particular the Gospels. 2. WORSHIP a. To promote the celebration of the Eucharist in a meaningful way so that they may share with their peers, family and community the concerns, joys and struggles that they meet in life, in forming community. b. To initiate the prayer experience as a means of coming to know self, others and God. 3. CREATING TOGETHERNESS To provide opportunities for students to socialize, come to know each other and appreciate differences and similarities among themselves, in a sane and healthy environment. Provide opportunities for students to be creative, inventive and original in thought and action for their own benefit and that of others especially the most vulnerable. 4. PEACE & JUSTICE To witness the Christian s active concern for those suffering from poverty, disability and injustice in all its forms by service, reflection and education. 5. COUNSELLING a. To provide students with support through Counselling as they face personal, spiritual and vocational decisions. b. Accompany students in the healing and reconciliation process in their life and relationships. 6. ENABLEMENT To develop, support and utilize the leadership abilities and personal gifts of students, encouraging them to participate in responsibilities of leadership with their peers. 7. EMPOWERMENT To identify and interpret the needs of students and invite them to voice their concerns and those of others for a fair and equitable society. 3

We talk a lot about peace, but often resort to war or choose complicit silence, or do nothing to build peace He who does evil hates the light; he who does evil, hates peace. Each person and every people hungers and thirsts for peace; therefore it is necessary and urgent to build peace. Peace is not just the absence of war, but a general condition in which the human person is in harmony with himself, with nature and with others. There is no future without peace!. Mary, Queen of Peace, never lost her peace of heart, the fruit of her trusting abandonment to God's mercy. We ask that Mary, our tender Mother, show the entire world the sure path of love and peace. 4

5 To live in the Light Spiritual health lies in honesty and transparency and so we live in the light when we are willing to lay every part of our lives open to examination by those who need to trust us. To live in the light is to not be anxious if someone in the family finds our files unlocked. To live in the light is to be able to let those we live with listen to what s inside our cellphones, see what s inside our s, and know who s on our speed-dial. To live in the light is to have a confessor and to be able to tell that person what we struggle with, without having to hide anything. To live in the light is to live in such a way that, for those who know us, our lives are an open book. 5

At school we thought of him as an incredibly 'gifted' guitarist and he's since gone on to travel the world making a very good living at what he loves to do. I became good friends with him and soon learned the truth. I stayed over at Alan's house one night and was awoken at 6am (on a Saturday morning) by the melodious sound of his singing guitar. "What are you doing?" I yawned. "It's 6am." "I always start the day with two hours of practice and do three hours in the evening. If I didn't I'd be hopeless!" Then it hit me. Alan was gifted, but this was a gift that had started out small, perhaps even insignificant, to which he'd added, built upon, and massively extended. Alan had made his own gift. That taught me something profound. Sure, there is such a thing as natural talent but: Natural talent counts for little unless it's supercharged by self-discipline. Self-discipline can, to some extent, overcome lack of natural talent. Exercising self-discipline can make the difference between an averagely talented person doing something amazing with their lives and a naturally talented person realizing very little of his/her potential. 6

Meeting of Young Lasallians More than four-hundred young people from the Young Lasallian groups from the cities of Almería, Andújar, Antequera, Jerez de la Frontera, Melilla, Puerto Real, San Fernando Sanlúcar and Sevilla met on November 22 at the Colegio de El Puerto de Santa María. 7
