2 Even though they didn t do anything wrong, the Christians who lived in the city of Jerusalem became afraid because people wanted to hurt them. People who didn t understand Jesus thought the Christians were bad.

3 There was a man named Saul who studied the old Testament scrolls. Even though he believed in God He didn t understand who Jesus was either. He thought Jesus was bad!

4 Saul wanted to go out and capture Christians and bring them back to Jerusalem to punish them. He thought he was doing good but he was doing something bad.

5 Saul went to the leaders and got letters to say that he was allowed to capture the Christians and bring them back for punishment.

6 Saul went on a trip to the city of Damascus to capture Christians so that he could punish them.

7 While Saul was on his trip suddenly a bright light came down from heaven. Jesus was in the light and asked Saul why he was punishing the Christians. Saul was very surprised! He learned that Jesus was God s son and was very good and that he was wrong for punishing and capturing the Christians.

8 Paul went to the city of Damascus. He was very sad for being so mean to the Christians. He was so sad that he didn t eat or drink anything for three days. He was blind from the great light and he prayed all the time.

9 God heard Saul s prayers. Saul was baptized and God forgave him of his sins for being so mean to Christians. A good man named Ananias came and touched Saul s eyes and they were healed. Saul could see again! From then on Saul went around telling everyone about how Jesus was very good and that the Christians had been right all along.
