1 A Missiological Model for LGBT+ Church Inclusion & Care Hosting Posture Shift helped us live out our mission statement: to engage the needs of the world with the redemptive power of the gospel. The truths of Scripture are presented with compassion and deep understanding in ways we all can benefit from. Dr. Mark Young, President of Denver Seminary
2 ABOUT US Lead Them Home empowers families and churches to love LGBT+ individuals like Jesus does. We offer a biblically sound, missiological approach to living out the Great Commandment to honor God and radically love people. Our mission is to cultivate secure families and safe churches in order to nourish Christian faith identity in LGBT+ persons. Decades of rejection and judgment have deconstructed faith identity in a people vulnerable to systemic mistreatment. Our decade of excellence in this complex area allows Lead Them Home to uniquely and rapidly equip your team. We provide acclaimed training and consulting resources for church leaders and have directly cared for thousands of LGBT+ individuals and their families. Over 50,000 national, regional and local leaders have experienced Posture Shift, our leading seminar on LGBT+ outreach and pastoral care. Our teaching has been covered in Christianity Today and Church Leaders, featured at national conferences, and incorporated as academic curricula at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Posture Shift is solidly orthodox in view of marriage and sexuality. It gives practical tools for understanding and reaching out to the LGBT+ community with compassion. Midwest Leader Posture Shift taught be that there can be freedom to enter into compassionate relationships without fear and provided the tools and resources to sustain those relationships in a Christ-like fashion. Pacific Northwest Leader OUR VISION Our vision is to honor and glorify God via biblically sound training seminars, consulting services and other resources that equip church leaders and the broader evangelical community to nourish faith identity in LGBT+ persons. 3 One of the greatest challenges facing the church today is how to engage, welcome and share Christ with LGBT+ persons. Much controversy and hurt has existed for many decades between the church and the gay community. A new generation of evangelicals views past mistreatment as a leading justice issue. Posture Shift Intensives is a half-day experience that will help your ministry team develop internal expertise. We recommend that you send as many on your team as possible including elders, senior and executive pastors, pastoral care teams, student and youth teams and young adult teams. Some view homosexuality as a doctrinal matter or as a pastoral care issue or a youth ministry challenge. In truth, the wider evangelical community must address a senior leadership crisis on one of the greatest challenges facing the church today. For this reason, all levels of ministry leadership are highly encouraged to attend Posture Shift. This training will dramatically and rapidly enhance your team s outreach and pastoral care effectiveness.
