Sacrament of Matrimony Couples should make arrangements with one of our priests or deacon at least six months before the wedding. Pastoral Care of the Sick and Elderly Please contact the Parish Center Office to make arrangements, if you are going into the hospital, or have a family member who is homebound and would like to receive the Sacrament of the Sick. If a family member cannot come to church and would like to receive Communion at home, please notify us. 4 Page 4 Collaborative of St. Francis of Assisi Parish & St. Joseph Parish, Medford, MA An Enjoyable Music Show We wish to thank Seaside Productions for providing an enjoyable musical review on Saturday night, August 25 at the St. Francis Auditorium. Songs from Broadway musicals and popular music from the 50s, 60s, and 70s were performed with spirit and enthusiasm. We also thank Medford Electronics and parishioners John and Patty Costas for sponsoring the show, which raised over $800 for the parish. Thank you all! Mass and Reception in Honor of First Responders Sunday, September 9, 2018 at 11am St. Francis of Assisi Parish In conjunction with the upcoming anniversary of 9/11, on Sunday, September 9 th, at the 11am Mass at St. Francis of Assisi Church, the Medford Collaborative of St. Joseph and St. Francis of Assisi Parishes will be honoring all of the men and women police, firefighters, and all first responders who put their lives on the line every day to save the lives of others. Accordingly, we invite the members of these organizations - and all first responders - to attend this Mass, and join us after Mass for light refreshments in the parish center next door to the church. Members are welcome to wear their uniforms, so that our parish community is able to recognize them as we thank them for their service. We hope you will join us on the 9th! The St. Joseph Parish Music Ministry Would Be Honored......if you would consider supporting our ministry by placing an ad in our upcoming annual parish concert program. As you may know, our concert is scheduled for Sunday, October 14th, at 2pm. This year's program, entitled, "Building Bridges, is being dedicated to Prayer for Unity in our communities and in the world, and will once again consist of a varied program of sacred, classical and popular selections. A portion of the proceeds from our concert ad book will be donated to UnityWorks Foundation, a national 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote understanding of the oneness of humanity, the value of diversity, and the need for unity - with a focus on education and schools. St. Joseph Parish Annual Concert Sunday, October 14, 2018, at 2pm The music ministry invites you to join us on Sunday afternoon, October 14, 2018, at 2pm in the upper church, for our St. Joseph Parish Annual Concert. Both our Adult and Youth Choirs and The Messengers (our young adult music group) will perform, and there will be an opportunity for the audience to join with us in singing! Hope of the Nations September 15, 2018 Lowell Memorial Auditorium Hope of the Nations A conference sponsored by Hope Conferences and the Archdiocese of Boston is returning on September 15 th to Lowell Memorial Auditorium. The program runs from 8:30AM-6:00PM, doors open at 8:00. "Hope, Healing and Deliverance" is this year's theme. Keynote speakers include Dr. Ralph Martin, noted author, speaker, and professor on topics related to the New Evangelization and Consultor to the Pontifical Council for the New Evangelization; and Dr. Mary Healy, professor of Sacred Scripture at Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit and an author/speaker on evangelization, scripture, healing, and the spiritual life. St. Francis of Assisi Girls & Boys In-House Basketball Registration Registration for the upcoming season will be on: September 10th & 11th from 6-8:30pm in the St. Francis Dining Hall.
