THE COMMITMENT OF ALL CATHOLIC SCHOOLS IN OUR DIOCESE MUST BE: ü To teach, share, and live our common faith ü To provide the very best education possible ü To provide a safe and loving environment in which our children can learn ü To provide financial aid when needed ü To support high quality extracurricular activities, including athletics, the arts, and service opportunities 6

9 Parish Pastoral Council The Parish Pastoral Council seeks to advise the Pastor on issues of pastoral care through: Building a community through faith sharing Learning more about the Church Creating or renewing a mission statement Developing and monitoring a pastoral plan with its goals, objectives and action steps NOTE: In small parishes the Town Hall Meeting may serve as the council

11 The Required Committees The Diocese of Lexington defines a minimum of three committees, which are essential for every Parish Pastoral Council: Formation Christian Service Liturgy

12 Finance Council Canon 537 Each parish is to have a finance council which is regulated by universal law as well as by norms issued by the diocesan bishop; in this council the Christian faithful, selected according to the same norms, aid the pastor in the administration of parish goods with due regard for the prescription of can. 532 Canon 532 The pastor represents the parish in all juridic affairs in accord with the norm of law; he is to see to it that the goods of the parish are administered in accord with the norms of cann
