3 What did Jesus tell the disciples about greatness among themselves? How did He tell them to achieve it? (v. 26) How does a person become first when serving Jesus? (v. 27) Jesus said that He did not come to be others and give His life for them. (v. 28), but to PRAY: Praise the Lord and thank Him for living His earthly life the way we should be living. (v. 15) According to verse 16, Paul says we are slaves to the one whom we obey, whether you are slaves to leading to death, or to leading to righteousness. Paul says that we were slaves to before we accepted Jesus as our Savior. (v. 17) According to verse 18, we have been set free from and have become slaves to PRAY: Praise the Lord and thank Him that you are saved and free. Thank Him that you are now a slave of righteousness. Surrender to Jesus today. Ask Him to come now and live through you. Pray on the armor of God, then write your prayer requests in your Prayer Journal. READ: Galatians 2:20 leg "I have been with Christ and no longer, but lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by Son of God." Who was in control of Paul's life according to this verse? Who was living in Paul and controlling Paul's every move? Who needs to live in and control your life? Have you been letting Jesus control your life? Does He live through you and minister to others? in the PRAY: Praise the Lord today for living in and through you. Thank Him that you are free from sin. Choose today to be His servant. Ask Jesus to come now and take control. Pray on the armor of God, then write your prayer requests in your Prayer Journal. 5 Arent talk: devehming a in worldview As we finish our study of The Cross, we are seeing another important part of the abundant life that Jesus describes: a life of service. As believers in Christ who are submissive to God's will for our lives in Lordship and devotion, we will find ourselves compelled to serve. Jesus Christ is our example, and it was His desire to model servanthood for us (John 13:3-15). He said He did not come to be served but to serve others. It would be a serious oversight for a believer in Christ to bypass this very important step in spiritual growth. We are called to lay down our lives in acts of worship and service for Jesus Christ. He expresses Himself through us as we serve and do ministry for Him. As we put others first, we begin to see the kingdom of God from a different perspective. Christ lives through us and empowers us to touch and change lives. People and individuals are drawn to Him because of the love that is exemplified through our lives. There is a natural draw to a person with genuine love and concern for others. Their faith becomes real, and they experience true joy. MEMORY VERSE: Have your child quote Matthew 20:27. REVIEW: 1. What did Jesus come to the earth to do? Read John 13:3-5 together. 2. What can we do as a family to serve others this week? PRAY: Pray together that God would give you a servant heart. Pray on the armor of God, then use the Prayer Journal. PARENT CHALLENGE: 1. Think of ways that you and your family together might serve others around you. 2. Plan a ministry project as a family and do it together. Discuss how it felt to put others first.
