He began travelling from Jerusalem to Damascus to find Christians to bring back for trial. But after Jesus met him on the way, his life was turned around and he travelled to places to tell people about his new Friend and Saviour. Paul was the first missionary in the Bible. He made three Missionary Journeys. Refer briefly to map charts or pages at the back of their Bibles. When he visited a place he would stay for many days to teach and encourage new Christians. On his next journey he would often re-visit them to see how the new Church was getting on. Paul really cared for those who decided to become followers of the way. He wanted to teach them and encourage them in their Christian lifestyle. If he could not visit them, he would write letters to them and often have them delivered by other Christian Leaders who had been working with him. One place he really wanted to go to, because he was a Roman citizen, was Rome. Now he was on the way there, albeit as a prisoner. Think of the names of the books in the N.T. and you will see how many letters Paul wrote. (Romans to the Christians in Rome, Galatians to the Christians in Galatia, Ephesians to the Christians in Ephesus, Philippians to the Christians in Philippi, Colossians to the Christians in Colosse, Corinthians to the Christians in Corinth, and Thessalonians to the Christians in Thessalonica.) Timothy, Titus and Philemon were individuals to whom Paul wrote. In Sword Drill, we will read some verses about Paul s life and his communication with other Christians. Hosts and Hostesses:- next page Christian Endeavour: Paul Bible Study - page 41

2 Hosts and Hostesses:- What kind people the natives of Malta were! They made a warming fire and invited people around it; they looked after them for three days; they gave food and clothes etc. for the next stage of the voyage. The people of Malta were hospitable. We too can be hospitable by being hosts and hostesses. A host or hostess invites guests to stay with them, or to have a meal with them or even a party! A good host / hostess thinks of the needs of their guests and plans that they have an enjoyable time. You could plan something special for other people. Help is given in the Host and Hostess Award: Christian Living section. Christian Endeavour: Paul Bible Study - page 42
