Can we get a clothing donation box in our parking lot so we can donate clothes all through the year instead of waiting for the St. Vincent de Paul truck to come twice a year? A. We have deliberately chosen to have the truck from the St. Vincent de Paul Society twice a year. From our experience, having a clothing donation box on church property leads to many other problems. Sometimes people put their garbage bags in the receptacle. Sometimes they take things out of the box and leave them all around the parish property. On several occasions, people have set fire to the clothes in the box. We realize it is an inconvenience to store the clothes at home while waiting for the bi-annual truck visit. I wish there was another solution. Thanks for your understanding and kind cooperation AND your generosity. Congratulations to Bishop Ray who celebrated his 6th Anniversary as a Bishop on July 11, 2018! We wish him many more years of God s abundant blessings as he continues to faithfully serve the People of God! Ad Multos Annos! It has been a wonderful summer at St. Kevin s and I am grateful to all those who have made it such a wonderful experience. First and foremost, a big thank you to Bishop Chappetto, Fr. Robert, and Msgr. Aguggia who have helped me grow in my vocation and as a young man. Also, thank you to St. Kevin Academy, the Prayer Group, the Rosarians, the Oblates, and of course St. Kevin s Senior Club. All these groups have made this a very enjoyable and faith filled summer. A big thank you to Ruben of the Saint Kevin Youth Guild and Meg Rodriguez, our Youth Minister, for their help this summer with the Summer Sports Program. Finally, thank you to all of you, the parishioners, who make St. Kevin such a great parish. Please pray for me as I head back to seminary to continue my studies. I will be returning on Wednesday night s to assist with the new teenager Youth Group beginning in September, at the request of Bishop Chappetto, as part of my seminary formation.
