We will meet at the church at 11:00 and plan to have lunch (place TBD) before the 1:00pm tour. Please sign up in the Gathering Room. Dogs of all sizes and ages made new friends at the Blessing of the Animals. Dine Around Pet refreshments were provided by Skyward Academy. 4 Page 4 MPC EVENTS The Chimes Seeking Volunteers to Prepare for Advent Decoration Volunteers are needed (especially those who like crafts, decorating and organizing) as we prepare to make the church beautiful for the upcoming Advent season. We need to evaluate our current inventory of decorations, update or repair if necessary, discard where appropriate, and plan and organize decoration. We need a leader and a crew for this project. Highlights of the October 2017 Session Meeting Adult Sunday School The Kemper Parlor 8:45 10:00 Sunday mornings October 29 began a 4 week study on Holy Manners led by Bertie Spicker and Beth Doebereiner. We will discuss living in Christian love in a world of accusation, name calling and shouting. Are we speaking in the feelings of the moment or clothing ourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience? (Col.3:12) Book Club We had a great evening of discussion and fellowship at the inaugural meeting of the MPC book club. Our next gather-ing will be on Monday, December 11, at 7pm. We will be discussing the book Tattoos on the Heart, by Gregory Boyle. If you have any questions or would like to be added to our distribution list, please contact Karen Simpson at karenanndance@gmail.com or A Baptismal pitcher and bowl honoring the Pastorate of George Hupp will replace the removed tree. We worked on clearing the way for the Winter Market. Practicing Sabbath includes reflection, so we discussed all that MPC has accomplished in the past 2 years: financial soundness, making our building a welcoming place of worship and learning Deacons providing extended communion caring for the Reeseys and all of us Caregivers Group new book club active new members increasing numbers of volunteers with our partners OGB, Habitat and the Montgomery Farmers Market. These reflect our sense of abundance rather than scarcity, taking care of our building, sharing our time and resources, and improving our connections to one another and the community around us. We realized that we are climbing a pyramid where taking care of the first two levels allows us to more fully live in Christian Love within MPC and our community. The Ladies Circle will meet Thursday, November 2 at noon in the library. Next meeting will be Monday, Nov. 20 at 7pm at home of Beth Doebereiner, 8698 Totempole Dr.

5 NOVEMBER 2017 MISSION Page 5 For November we are filling shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. Shoeboxes (with instructions) are available to take and fill up. Boxes are due back to MPC by Sunday, November 12. Operation Christmas Child Thanksgiving Baskets The Deacons are collecting food items for Thanksgiving baskets for families in our community in need. Please look for the grocery list in the Gathering Room. You may also help with a monetary donation. Thank you, Deacons. Angel Tree The Angel and Mitten trees will be appearing in the Gathering Room on the weekend before Thanksgiving. Help bring smiles and laughter to a child on Christmas Day by selecting an angel from the tree. There will be more information in future church bulletins and the December Chimes. PRESBYTERY Craft Fairs in the Presbytery Pleasant Run Presbyterian Church (11565 Pippin Road, Cincinnati) will host a Craft Fair and Gift Show on Saturday, November 4, from 9am-3pm. The Women s Association designates their proceeds for mission, and last year over $5000 was raised for mission! A past recipient is the Practical Non-Food Pantry hosted at PRPC. Last week the Practical Non- Food Pantry helped 150 families in the local area, and sixteen new families. Trinity Presbyterian Church (6081 Ross Road, Fairfield) will also hold a Craft Fair at Trinity PC in Fairfield on Saturday, November 4 from 9:00AM- 4:00PM. The Women s Group of Trinity will have a variety of handmade crafts, bake sale, raffle and lunch is available. Unidos por Puerto Rico: A Benefit Concert A concert of music including CCM students and faculty, and local Cincinnati musicians, featuring Latin and Puerto Rican Music. The Benefit Concert will be hosted on Friday, November 3 at 7:30PM at Covenant -First Presbyterian Church (717 Elm Street, Cincinnati). All proceeds to Unidos for Puerto Rico, who provides immediate and long term aid for the people of Puerto Rico. Weather Reminder In case of cancellations due to inclement weather condi-tions, please check the local ABC and NBC stations or web-sites (wcpo.com and wlwt.com) to stay informed. The decision will be made and called into the stations no later than 9:00am. Be safe and always use your best judgment.

6 Page 6 COMMUNITY PARTNERS The Chimes Winter Market Vendors It's looking like a full house for our first Winter Market. Growers will include: W ittmeyer W hite Oak Farm, Bethel Lane, Jessie's Garden and Goodlife Farm. Some of our food artisans: Angie Tee's Kitchen, Like Mom's Only Vegan Cookies, Pies & Other Pleasures and Crackling Crust. Kartal's Pure Honey and TS Farms will be there. Some of our favorite crafts people will be there: RLM Woodworking, Ora Studio, Brooch and Bangle. Also, we'll have carryout food. And we have a new vendor for MFM's Winter Market. Plymouth Springs Fish Co. will bring rain-bow trout and smoked trout from their W isconsin fish farm. The Jack son Family, from Montgomery, own the fish farm, which is fed by pure, spring water. MFM is pleased to be The Winter Market will run from November 4th until December 23rd, 9:30am-12:30pm. We will take off on the Saturday after Thanksgiving.
