Homework 4: Research the resurrection of Jesus. Three questions pupils still have on the incarnation and ascension of Jesus. 11. Worship in the new testament How is worship shown in the new testament and how does this effect a Christians life? All should be able to describe the four main ways in which worship is shown in the New Testament. Most should be able to explain the four main ways in which worship is shown in the New Testament. Some will be able to use Christian scripture to help support the above. What are your main priorities in life? What do you think a Christians main priority is? What do you think the Churches main priority is as a whole? There are 4 main ways to worship in the new testament. 1) Offer God your whole self 2) Offer God your material belongings 3) Offer God your praise 4) Offer God your services to others. Discussion in various ways on each point. Create a summary of how worship is down in the New Testament: 1) Offer God your whole self No longer a huge style of worship with sacrifice and riches. It is about giving yourself to God. 2) Offer God your material belongings. 3) Offer God your praise Through Christ then, let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of the lips that give thanks to his name." (Heb. 13:15) 4) Offer God your services to others. Challenge: Can you remember any scripture to support these ideas? 5 12. Jesus role in salvation What is the role of Jesus in salvation? To be able to explain the meaning of salvation to Christians. To be able to use Bible scripture to describe the idea of salvation for Christians. To evaluate how the idea of salvation may effect the way a Christian lives their life. Have you ever felt really free? If so where and how did it make you feel? Definition of salvation. Group work looking at passages of the Bible in relation to salvation. See worksheet to support this. Discussion of how this relates to the after life. Homework 6: 1 (a) State three religious traditions, other than Christianity, in Great Britain. Check point summary as guided by text book and answered using a name generator/no hands up approach. 13. Christians today and the idea of salvation How does the idea of salvation effect Christians today? All will be able to describe atonement and salvation. Most will be able to explain different Christian views on atonement and salvation. Some will be able to evaluate biblical scriptures to argue is salvation is taken for granted today. Matching of key words and summarising Christian beliefs about law and sin. Explanation of atonement and discussion on the different Christian beliefs surrounding atonement. Jesus as the saviour. Hot-seat pairs- Fundamentalist vs liberal view on atonement. Learning check. How might Christians behave today in light of them wanting to reach salvation and heaven? Think-pair-share. Various of its passages indicate that a person will be saved and go to Heaven if they: are baptized, repent of their sins, trust Jesus as their Lord and Saviour, do good works, follow church rituals, and/or avoid certain specific behaviours -- activities that are often not clearly defined. Do you think a person should go to heaven if they do the above in their life? Think-pair-share. For by grace you are saved, through faith, and this not from yourselves; it is God's gift-not from works, so that no one can boast (Ephesians 2:8). 1. 6 14. Christian beliefs in life after death What are Christian beliefs in life after death? All pupils will be able to describe the different beliefs about life after death held by Christians and define key terms. Most pupils will be able to explain why Christians believe in life after death and how this may impact their life. Some pupils will be able to explain the Christian beliefs on life after death with reference to biblical evidence. Pictures and students guess link. Explanation of different Christian views. Glass to visit stations around the room and answer the following questions directly relating to Christian beliefs about life after death. Answering of exam question.
