1 Who Am I Really? (Part 3) April 17, 2016 Spirit. Soul. Body. In Christ 2 Corinthians 5:17 NLT This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! You are a three-part being. 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 NLT Now may the God of peace make you holy in every way, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ comes again. God will make this happen, for he who calls you is faithful. You are a spirit. You have a soul your mind, will, and emotions. You live in a body. The soul is between the body and spirit. It gets information from both.

2 It is pulled between the two. The body is getting its info from the world. If you are born again, your spirit is getting information from God. 2 Corinthians 5:17 NLT This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! What happened when you came to Christ was so amazing! The Bible calls it a mystery! Colossians 1:27 NKJV To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. An explosion of the riches of God happened in your spirit when you asked Jesus to come live in you Colossians 3:1-3 NLT Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God s right hand. Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God.

3 Your soul now needs to understand what happened in your spirit. Then your soul will side with the spirit and be able to control your flesh. Romans 12:2 NLT Don t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. It works like this: Spirit nudges. Soul clarifies, understands, makes decisions. Body expresses. Ephesians 4:20-24 NLT But that isn t what you learned about Christ. Since you have heard about Jesus and have learned the truth that comes from him, throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God truly righteous and holy. The only way to educate your soul on what happened in your spirit, is the Word! Proverbs 4:20-22 NLT My child, pay attention to what I say. Listen carefully to my words. Don t lose sight of them. Let them penetrate deep into your heart, for they bring life to those who find them, and healing to their whole body. Galatians 2:20 NLT My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Here is the truth about you the old you is gone and now Christ lives in you! Ephesians 2:10 NLT For we are God s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. This is the truth about you you are God s work of art!

You are a member of a new family You have a new nature You have a new supply You have a new purpose Who I Am In Christ I am a child of God a joint-heir with Jesus a new creation loved by the Father and placed in His kingdom I am forgiven holy and blameless free from sin purchased by Him and raised to new life I have a new nature full of love full of peace full of joy and fear has no place in me I have a new purpose a full supply all the wisdom I need His light shines out of me and I am ambassador for Christ!
