8 Nominations for 2013 LIGHTHOUSE OUTSTANDING MISSION VOLUNTEER The Baptist State Convention of Michigan will be presenting several LIGHTHOUSE LEADERSHIP AWARDS at this fall s Annual meeting. One of those awards will honor an OUTSTANDING MISSION VOLUNTEER. Your help is needed! Please think about lay people you know that you feel are worthy of such recognition and let us hear from you. We realize that there are many who could fit this requirement; however, for this purpose only one individual (or couple) will be selected. Any member of a cooperating Michigan Baptist church can make a recommenda tion that will make a difference! The following information is required if a person (or couple) is to be considered (please submit in this order): 1. The name, address, and phone number of the person (or couple) being nominated. 2. The name of the pastor & church with address and phone number to which he/she/they belong. 3. A list of volunteer mission service: their (1) Jerusalem, (2) Judea; (3) Samaria and (4) Uttermost, he/she/they have participated in during the past five (5) years - including locations and dates. We are seeking nominations for the following awards that will be presented by each of our Mission-Action Teams as we celebrate what we value. CHURCH MOBILIZATION Mission-Action Team will present: Mission Volunteer of the Year (see separate nomination form) Outstanding Evangelism Leader (Minister or Layperson) CHURCH STRENGTHENING Mission-Action Team will present: Bi-Vocational Pastor of the Year Outstanding Local Church Volunteer Pastor of the Year CHURCH STARTING Mission-Action Team will present: Outstanding Church Starter Outstanding Sponsoring Church Any member of a cooperating Michigan Baptist church can nominate someone for any of these awards. The book must be read before training and a pre-test taken. Churches who serve food to the public should have someone certified in Serve Safe. Individuals who need training are welcome to attend. No DR connection is required. This training is also open to all DR volunteers in Region 4 (MI, OH, KY, TN, IN, IL, IA, MN/WIS). **Chaplaincy Requirements: DR Basic and Unit Training Must have been deployed at least once. Basic Chaplain Training (12 Hours) Occupational Stress First Aid or Critical Incident Stress Management Bring bedding and personal items to stay overnight at the church or make your own arrangements at local motels.
