2 From the West Brethren, From the East Don t forget that the August Stated Meeting will be on July 26 th because of the Ventura County Fair and that the Lodge will be dark for the Month of August Ryan Phillips WM Masonic Homes of California and Outreach Services A Masonic Outreach Services representative will give us a short presentation, during the August Stated Meeting Dinner, about benefits available to Masons and their families in need of relief. California Masons dedicated the first Masonic Home in Union City in Created to shelter widows and children left destitute and alone, it was our state fraternity s first major, tangible testament to the Masonic ideals of brotherly love and relief. Since then, the Masonic Homes of California has expanded into a robust, statewide network of critical resources and services for our members. Through compassionate care, the Masonic Homes pledges to keep Masonic family members of all ages, throughout California, safe, healthy, and connected. The speaker will provide information and answer questions about the various programs that exist to provide relief for brethren in need: the Masonic Assistance telephone line, the Masonic Homes at Union City and Covina, Masonic Senior Outreach Services, Masonic Family Outreach Services, Masonic Center for Youth and Families, Masonic Value Network and Lodge Outreach. Brethren & Friends August is the 8 th month in our calendar year. Webster reads or grandeur. (The Lords Day) As 8 persons were saved in the Ark, those who, like Faber (Grand Master of the order of the Temple at Paris 1804) have adopted the theory that Arkite Rites pervaded all the religions of antiquity, find an important symbolism in this number. Reservations must be made by 5 PM on the Wednesday before the Stated Meeting. To cancel or change your Reservation please contact the Treasurer by 5 PM on the Wednesday before the Stated Meeting. There are 2 easy ways to make a reservation. 1. On the Lodge Web Site (ChannelIslandsLodge214.org) on the "Dinner Reservations" page. Be sure to indicate the type and number of meals you would like. 2. Call the Lodge Phone (805) and leave your name and the number of meals you would like.

4 Masonic Youth Corner San Buenaventura Assembly No. 107 IORG Hello Friends, Our Assembly was very busy during the month of July! I was able to travel up to Plumas County and visit with Rainbow Girls from the Quincy and Chico/Paradise Assemblies during their Official Visit. During the time I was there I also visited the Quincy and Greenville Masonic Centers. The other assemblies did a wonderful job with decorations, ritual, and coming up with a hilarious skit for their Monopoly theme. We also had Southern California Rainbow Camp in Running Springs, California. The girls and adults raised $2, for Megan's Wings Foundation with their Grandie auction and devotional, played bingo, swam, went rock climbing, went on the big swing and had a wonderful time together in a Wizard of Oz theme. On July 14 th, we volunteered at the Oxnard Buddhist Temple's Obon Festival. We helped run the games, passed out prizes, and participated where ever they needed us. Later that night we passed out programs at the Oxnard Masonic Center for the OES. We also attended the Home Lodge Annual July Picnic in Simi Valley. There was good food, great company and lots of games. This month we will be visiting the Ventura County Fair, please visit the Agriculture section where we will be competing in a contest to raise money for our assembly. If you walk by the big screen during the fair you might be able to see this year and last years submissions. Some of the girls have made power point presentations about why Agriculture is important to Ventura County and others made a video about how the Agriculture was affected by the Thomas Fire. We will also have an area with information about Rainbow Girls. In September we will have a Service Official Visit with our District, we will be collecting toiletries until then to make care packages for the local foster children of the Lancaster/Palmdale areas. Please consider donating any small toiletries that you have in the box located at the Lodge. Thank you for all previous donations, your support helps us reach our goal. You are invited to join us at all our meetings, San Buenaventura Assembly No. 107 meets at 7:00 P.M. on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month at the San Buenaventura Masonic Center.
