3 PARISH NURSE PROGRAMS Fit Forever Chair Exercise Program The Fit Forever Chair Exercise Program meets Tuesdays, at 9 am in Room 10 in the Parish Activity Center. This free program is a workout at 3 different levels, for men and women 55 and older. Blood Drive Thursday, June 14th 2 pm-7 pm - Parish Activity Center The Knights of Columbus Council # of St. Elizabeth Seton Parish is sponsoring a blood drive to assist the American Red Cross. It is recommended that donors schedule their appointments rather than walking in by either visiting the Red Cross web site at clicking on Enter Sponsor Code, entering sponsor code 8088, and following the site s instructions; or, by calling Basic Eligibility Requirements Most healthy adults can give blood through the American Red Cross. You meet the basic eligibility requirements if you: are at least 17 years old weigh at least 110 pounds are in good health on the day of donation have no history of exposure to hepatitis or AIDS your last blood donation was at least 56 days (8 weeks) ago June 2 nd and 3 rd - After All Masses Stop by and meet our New Youth Ministry Apprentice! We are pleased to welcome Alexandra Sullivan, our new Youth Ministry Apprentice! Alex will be joining the Youth Ministry team here at St. Elizabeth Seton beginning in June. Along with Carrie and Karol, Alex will support the activities of our youth at St. Elizabeth s and she is looking forward to getting to know all our young parishioners! Bereavement Support Group Begins Wed., June 6th Have you or someone you know lost a loved one? The next 4 week Bereavement Support Group will meet on Wednesdays beginning June 6th. Meetings will be held at 7:00 pm in the Parish Activity Center in Room 10. No pre-registration is required. 4 THE SOLEMNITY OF THE MOST HOLY TRINITY Diocese of Manchester Prayer for Vocation On the first weekend of June we will be celebrating the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ. The Eucharist is the source and summit of our Christian life, but without priests there is no Eucharist. Many of us set aside this weekend to celebrate the ordination and first Masses of our newly ordained priests, but with the absence of ordinations this year, we feel a more pressing need to pray for vocations. On Saturday, June 2, 2018 from 9 to 10 am we will be having a Holy Hour for Vocations here at St. Elizabeth Seton. The BSA s mission is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law. We are excited to announce that our Cub Scouting program at St. Elizabeth Seton Parish is now open to boys and girls entering grades K-5 in September By welcoming both girls and boys into the program, even more youth will have access to the character development and values-based leadership that Scouting promises. Please join us for our Spring Recruiting/Pack Meeting on Thursday May 31 st at 6:30 PM in the church hall. Come and learn more about Pack 511 s Scouting Program, and how we can provide the best Scouting opportunity for your family. In light of Bishop Libasci s Restore, Renew and Proclaim initiative, we are making enhancements to our youth ministry, sacramental preparation and faith formation programs. Parents of youth who will be entering 7th-10th grade next year are invited to meet with our youth ministry and faith formation team to find out more about this initiative and address any questions. Two sessions will be offered: Wednesday, June 6 at 7:00 p.m. OR Thursday, June 7 at 10:00 a.m. An will be sent so parents can RSVP. 5 MAY 27, 2018 St. Andrew Dinners for men discerning their vocation St. Andrew was the first of the Apostles to hear Jesus call to follow him. We invite men who are considering a vocation to the priesthood or who would simply like some help hearing the Lord s call for their life to an evening of prayer, conversation with the Vocations Team, and dinner. These evenings will take place on Fridays from 6-8 pm at different locations around our state and for different age groups. Summer Camp Experience for Young Men ages "Do you know where your life is going?" 4 The Lord Jesus has a great plan for you! You are invited to attend the first annual Quo Vadis Days camp to spend time with other young men your age looking at the Lord s call in your life while having lots of fun. Quo Vadis Days is an overnight camp led by priests and seminarians of the diocese and includes a full schedule of hiking, swimming, canoeing, sports and games, daily Mass and prayer, and opportunities to grow in friendship with the Lord and with each other.
