3 June DEAR ONES, I was quite pleased that you took time June 24 to say thank you to Rev. Carolyn Williams for her investment of energy and heart in ministry among you during your season of interim between pastors. Well done! And, well done, Carolyn! Thank you for all your efforts! Ah, it is this very sentiment that dominates my heart and thoughts at all hours these days. I cannot help but express my feelings of gratitude to all of you for all you do, and to God who inspires you by the Spirit and is, indeed, the source of every good and perfect gift (James 1: 17). I am thankful for your excessive display of support and encouragement. Thank you for opening the circle of this church family, letting our family in, and with such warmth and hospitality. Thank you for your kindness and sympathy for all the tasks and even indignities of moving. Thank you for your patience and thoughtful orientation to the ways and means, the where and the who, of the Kilmarnock Baptist Church on mission. Thank you for the inspiration of your warmth, vitality, joy, attitude and mutual concern. Thank you for the maturity in Christ reflected in faithful attendance and responsible service in countless ways both here and in the community. I thank you that I can feel so unapologetically proud of you. And I feel so blessed in the opportunity to serve as your pastor. I am so thankful! But a further thought from the works of George Herbert Thou that hast given so much to me, Give one thing more a grateful heart; Not thankful when it pleaseth me, As if thy blessings had spare days; But such a heart, whose pulse may be Thy praise. I am richly blessed. I pray these days give you every reason for thankfulness, too. Give thanks always (Ephesians 5: 20). See where the church gathers! Jim

4 Let Us Pray... Creator of all, We thank You for the summertime and for the warmth of the sun and the increased daylight. Thank You for the beauty we see all around us and for the opportunity to be outside and enjoy Your creation. Thank You for the increased time we have to be with friends and family and for the more casual pace of the summer season. Draw us closer to You this summer. Teach us how we can pray no matter where we are or what we are doing. Warm our souls with the awareness of Your presence and light our paths with Your Word and Counsel. As we enjoy Your creation, create in us pure hearts and a hunger and a thirst for You. Bless our new beginnings, as our church moves forward with a new pastor, and move us in the direction that will further Your purpose for us as the body of Christ. Amen. KBC will hold a Day of Prayer on Friday, July 6th from 10:00am-2:30pm. All are welcomed!

5 Dear KBC Family, I want to extend a big thank you to all the workers who helped to make this year s Vacation Bible school such a big success. We were blessed with 44 young people. I want to thank our kitchen committee headed by Karen Cox for the great meals, and helpers; Debbie Sachen, Mary French Hutt, Bob and Diane Gray, and Nancy Wetherington, and the KUMC team headed by Virginia Grace; the registration team of Warren Sutherland, Pat Ramey, Martha Balderson, and Sherry Ketner; the crafts headed by Jenny Crandall, assisted by Edna Mason, and Linda Small; the Bible stories told by Judy Kelly and Mary Jane Gemmell, and Pastor Penny Corey; the music leaders, Winnie McCrobie and Kyle Lorenzino; the science leaders who helped me, Barbara and Charlie Price; our raft team leaders, Tonya Raymond, Robbie Spiers, Susan Rogers, Marty Sutherland, Lynnie McCrobie; our special guest puppeteer, Grace Harley-Leach, and our technical expert, Jonathan McCrobie. Thanks to all the parents and teenagers who stayed to help as well. You all helped to make VBS 2018 a big success. Everyone has been so supportive this past year, and really helped to make my term as Interim pastor such a joy. I want to thank you all for the wonderful reception, flowers, cards, gifts, and special thoughts. It has been a pleasure to serve you and I look forward to continuing as your Associate pastor in the days to come. Yours in Christ, Carolyn

6 We will have a combined Sunday School for the month of August. Pastor Jim will be leading us in a discussion of the book by Sam James entitled, Servant on the Edge of History. The WMU was privileged to meet with Sam and hear about his time in Viet Nam during the war years. This will provide an opportunity to discuss his book and how we might be better disciples for Christ. Copies can be made available through the Church office for $10.00; however a book is not necessary to join the study. If you wish to purchase one, please advise Joanne or Carolyn at the Church office so one may be ordered for you. The book is also available on Amazon in Kindle format for $2.00. The final session will be held Sunday, September 2 nd, and Sam will plan to be with us to answer any questions. Dr. James will also bring us our message during the Worship service. The Nominating Committee is seeking your input. If you are looking for opportunities to serve on a committee, and feeling led to serve God at KBC as we continue on our journey, please contact Fannie Clingan - Chair, Louise Humphreys, Margaret Headley, or the Church office. Memorial Garden Bricks New Memorial Garden Bricks Have Arrived! The following new bricks have been placed in our KBC Memorial Garden in memory or in honor of loved ones by the following individuals: MILTON and MARIE WEBB given by Anne Bromley, ROBERTA WALKER POUCHOT given by Troy Pouchot and Colette Hudson, and IDA GALLIMORE given by Steve Gallimore. 9 KBC FOOD PANTRY We thank everyone for the support you provide the food pantry. Without your assistance we could not help the needy families in our community. New things are happening over the next few months. The Warsaw Food Bank Redistribution Organization has now officially become a Partner Distribution Organization (PDO) of FeedMore in Richmond. This is wonderful news for the KBC Food Pantry. Warsaw will now handle the agency relations responsibilities, along with the food distribution. It means we will receive training and any monitoring and compliance much closer to home. Another change coming soon we are in the process of enrolling in The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP). Once approved, this will allow the KBC Food Pantry to receive some of the food through USDA at no cost. The benefit will be to provide our clients with more of the food items they need and may reduce our monthly food costs a win-win situation! More to come about this change in the coming months. This month we ask for donations of syrup, jelly, canned fruit, soft drinks and fruit juices. We also need paper bags with handles and plastic bags. Next food pantry is Wednesday, July 18. Please stop by and view the operation or better yet, volunteer for a couple hours. We d love to have you join us!! Once again, thanks to our congregation for your support and to those volunteer workers that show up each day we have the food pantry open. Our clients appreciate every volunteer. We couldn t make this happen without you!!!

10 The Officers of JOY thank everyone who contributed to our 4th of July Coffee Hour! The food was wonderful and so many of you pitched in to help before, during and afterwards! It was a wonderful time of fellowship, with lots of talking and laughing together! We look forward to many more special times of fellowship with you in future JOY adventures! We truly appreciate all your help and we appreciate you! Thank You So Much! Mary Jane, Warren and Marty LOOKING AHEAD TO For August, JOY will be showing the movie "Samson",, another Sight and Sound Theater production. The date is Tuesday, August 28th at 10:00am. The date is Tuesday, August 28th at 10:00am in Beane Hall. Popcorn, drinks and lunch will be provided. PLEASE let Mary Jane or Marty know if you can come, so we can provide enough food for everyone! We hope to see you there!

11 Thank you KBC for your generous giving of craft items for the Boys and Girls Club. The WMU was able to deliver many colored pencils and markers, glue guns and glue sticks, a box of sea shells, beads, glitter, a donation for more craft supplies, etc. We appreciate your help with this project. Upcoming In August... During August, KBC will again deliver Meals on Wheels. We will need 8 teams of two people each to make the deliveries. Those who have participated in this ministry have found it to be a blessing. If you are interested in serving this year, please contact Nancy Wetherington ( ) or Barbara Price ( ). Thank you.

Any suggestions or recommendations, please put in the Library mailbox at the Church office. Thanks! Looking Forward To August... Master s Blend Sunday School class invites all Church Members and friends to our annual church picnic on Saturday, August 25 at Belle Isle State Park. 14 My dear friend in Christ, Greetings from Myanmar in the name of Jesus Christ! Hope this finds you well It is always our pleasure to bring our ministry update and prayer needs to you. Thank you again for your prayer and financial support. Please keep supporting us and pray for us. Grace and Peace, Victor Vula (Sent by on July 6th, 2018) MINISTRY UPDATE: VICTOR VULA in MYANMAR My dear friend in Christ, Greetings from Myanmar in the name of Jesus Christ our Savior! Hope this letter finds you well. Thank you always for your prayer and concern for the works of VIS Myanmar. July 6, 2018 Victory International School (VIS) Time is flying; it s one month already since we started school on June 7. A new building for classroom is finally finished; electric power regulator and three air conditioner units are yet to be installed. With a little over 200 students, there is no enough space for children to run around and for cars to park; we just rented a small piece of land next to where we are now; renovation work is yet to be done. We had parent informational night yesterday and today; praise God, it went well. We will have our first chapel service, computer class (still need at least 3 more laptop computers), and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineer, Mathematic) classes soon, within this month. Thank you again for your prayer and financial support. Our big prayer for the next two to five year is to have our own building. Please start praying for us, and also for our next payment of rental cost for the remaining six months this year which is due September. As we spent a lot of money toward the new building and other necessary needs we will not be able to save enough money for this cause. Water Filtration System This is our Rainy season in Myanmar, many areas started to experience access to clean water. We are planning to build a few more live-sand water filters soon, and also provide Lilypad water filters. Please continue to pray for this project. Victory Community Chapel (VCC) Renovation work is done. We were able to resume our English worship service. As a matter of fact, we just celebrated our first anniversary on July 1, Our next prayer is to support mission work in Minbu Township in Magwe division; and followed by pastoral Bible preaching and hermeneutical seminar once in a month at VIS. Please remember VCC in your prayer. Please continue to pray for us and support us for the ministry of VIS. If you are interested to support, you may contact us at the following information. Thank you. May our good Lord and soon coming King continue to bless you! Lal Sawi Vula (Victor) Managing Director H. No. 93/C, Thiri Mingalar lane-twe (15), East Ywama Ward, Insein Tsp., Yangon, Myanmar. Ph (Cell).

15 Congratulations to KK and Robbie Spiers who were married at Kilmarnock Baptist Church on Saturday, July 7th, 2018 at 11:30 am. We would like to thank everyone for celebrating with us today. We love each one of you! First and foremost, we love our Lord and Savior who created and ordained this occasion today and orchestrated the entire meeting of the two of us. We give Him all praise, honor, and glory and can t wait to see how He will use us in His ministries. Love, KK and Robbie
