3 Holy Trinity Parish HOLY TRINITY UPCOMING EVENTS HOLY TRINITY BOOK CLUB On Thursday, April 24th, at 7:00 PM in the Parish Center, all adults are welcome to attend a book discussion on The American Heiress by Daisy Goodwin. The novel is a social critique of the late 19th century in which a wealthy Newport, Rhode Island American woman is programmed by her mother to marry a member of titled British aristocracy, thereby earning the social status the mother seeks. The American woman views marriage as an escape from her mother s ambition and the British Lord sees American money as an opportunity to restore status and save his dilapidated ancestral home. Both parties forsake other more companionable partners. Competition between American and British aristocracy; cultural differences; infidelity; social rivalry, etc. appear to prove that money cannot buy everything. BAPTISM PREPARATION CLASS Baptism Preparation Class will take place on Tuesday, April 1st (no fooling!) at 7:00 PM in the Parish Center. Parents who are interested in getting their children baptized and are registered members of the parish, must attend a Baptism Preparation Class before the Baptism can be scheduled. Please call Roger Camp in the Parish Office at with any questions or to register for the class. LADIES GUILD MEETING The Ladies Guild will hold their next meeting on Monday, April 7th at 7:00 PM in the Modular Building. RUMMAGE SALE Cleaning out your basement or garage? Spring Cleaning? Save your Treasures!! The Ladies Guild will have a Rummage Sale in June. Stay tuned for details. MEALS FOR SHELTER Our final meal of the season will be served on Sunday, April 6th at the St. Joseph Shelter in Lorain. This month we are asking you to provide Pork Chop n Potato Casserole (recipe specific), Applesauce, Cooked Green Beans or Peas and Dessert. Please bring your meal items to the Church Parking Lot on Sunday, April 6th between 3:30 and 4:00 PM. All items need to be cooked, but don t need to be hot and please be sure they are packaged for spill proof transporting. The Pork Chop n Potato Casserole recipe can be found on the shelves in the back of church or on the parish website: under the Parish Life tab. NON PERISHABLE FOOD ITEMS The St. Vincent DePaul Commission is collecting nonperishable food items for the food pantry located at St. Mary s Parish in Lorain. Food is collected on the first Sunday of every month. Please place your donated items in the basket by the choir loft stairs next Sunday, April 6th. Thank you in advance for your charity! FAMILY PERSPECTIVE In the gospel today, Jesus cures a man born blind, using mud and dirt as a sign of His healing. Even the most ordinary things in our family can be sources of healing and signs of God s presence if we open our eyes and use them for the sake of others. PRAY FOR OUR SICK PRAY FOR OUR TROOPS May God bless and protect our parish sons and daughters serving in the armed forces.
