1 AGAPE CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP CONSTITUTION: ARTICLE 1: NAME Agape Christian Fellowship (ACF) ARTICLE 2: PURPOSE The Agape Christian Fellowship (ACF) is an interdenominational student Christian organization seeking to provide a spiritual environment for students to grow in their relationship with God. It is a fellowship created for all students by Christian students who aim to share the love of God with others, and shed light on the Christian faith in the campus community. We aim to provide biblical guidance and resources for students, weekly Bible Studies, conferences and retreats every semester. ARTICLE III: MEMBERSHIP Section 1 The Agape Christian Fellowship (ACF) was formed by Christians who agree in the belief that man s only access to God is through the Lord Jesus Christ and faith in his deity, his death as full payment for man s sins, and his resurrection that has brought life and light to mankind. This is the foundation for this fellowship, and members can be anyone who has an active interest in the organization. The Agape Christian Fellowship is open to all and shall practice no form or type of discrimination. As a religious organization, we ask that all members agree to our purpose and Biblical principles in our statement of faith, but those holding other beliefs are also welcome to attend at any time. ARTICLE IV: OFFICERS Section 1:

2 A) The officers shall consist of a President, Vice President, Secretary (diverse positions General, Prayer, outreach/evangelism etc.), Treasurer, Public Relations Officer, Social Networking/Media Coordinator, Worship team Leader, Hospitality/Welfare Coordinator B) More positions are likely to be considered as the need arises, and these positions will be included in the constitution at such times. The President: I. Shall have the power to establish and maintain operation procedures of the organization, call meetings, and answer for I all actions of the other officers. Shall be the student representative to the University and Society at large. Shall also communicate regularly with student leaders from other university and college groups that have same interests and may liaise with them in planning outreach programs. The President will also be the student representative and act as a liaison to the local leadership of the fellowship and to other Christian fellowships in and outside the University. IV. Will produce and provide organizational documents such as Annual reports. V. Responsible for the appropriate planning of all meetings (Bible study, prayer meetings etc.). VI. Must support all other council members in ensuring they fulfill their roles as outlined. Section 3 The Vice President: I. Shall assist the president with all duties and assume duties in the absence of the president. The Vice President will work mainly on building a team with the focus of advancing the fellowship s mission and

3 charitable projects throughout the community. Section 4 A) The General Secretary: I. Shall keep accurate records of all meetings and affairs and send information to organization members and other stakeholders as needed. Support other members of the council as needed. B) The Prayer Secretary: I. Coordinates prayer as to enhance a prayer ministry I throughout the church body. Identifies key people in the church who are willing to pray or serve in the prayer ministry. Establishes a strategic prayer team consisting of no more than 3-10 people including the prayer leader. (The leadership responsibilities of the prayer ministry are divided among the members of the prayer team as is suitable for each person s gifting). Members of this team must be approved by the executive council. Above team members and the prayer secretary must organize personal intercessory prayer meetings on behalf of the fellowship and Christian body as a whole. IV. Serves as a liaison between the executive council and the prayer team V. Work with the fellowship leadership team to establish prayer as an ongoing, natural ministry in the fellowship body. VI. Work with the Executive council and prayer team in developing a mission statement for the prayer ministry and prayer strategy for the fellowship. V VI IX. Assists with the development of a prayer chain. Ensures the prayer chain is updated. Sets minimum standards to serve on the prayer chain. Establishes a resource library on prayer. Work with the Bible Study Ministry (BSM) leaders to keep prayer concerns in check.

4 X. Helps plan and organize special prayer events in the church (i.e. prayer conferences, workshops, National Day of Prayer, etc.) XI. Develop an information network to keep everyone informed of prayer concerns. X Serves as a liaison between the fellowship and the other fellowships of the city in cooperative prayer efforts. C) The Outreach/Evangelism Secretary: I. Plan and implement a vital, comprehensive evangelism ministry for the fellowship to reach people of all ages and race. This ministry will include assessment of trends in congregational growth and attendance and how people are I received into the congregation. Work with the executive council to align evangelism plans with the overall goals of the fellowship. Care for all members of the congregation (including those who are inactive), as well as people who are not members of a church, to help them know and respond to the love of God in Christ. This includes a visitation program and distribution of devotional materials. IV. Be familiar with biblical outreach resources, facilitate their use and recommend appropriate resources for evangelism. V. Build networks with organizations, people, and resources in and beyond the congregation that are concerned with Christian evangelism. Section 5 The Treasurer: I. Shall receive and distribute organization funds with approval of the executive committee and in accordance with the financial rules and regulations of the fellowship and the laws of the Province of Manitoba. Shall also coordinate fund-raising activities and work with the President and PRO if the need arises to request funding

5 for events. Section 6 The Public Relations Officer: I. Shall focus on promoting the fellowship through the I IV. planning of programs and events. Shall support the Vice President in building a team with the focus of advancing the fellowship s mission and charitable projects throughout the community. May also help the President and the treasurer in securing funds and community resources to support fellowship programs and activities. Shall liaise with the public and respond to inquiries. V. Shall liaise with the social networking/media coordinator as needed in the writing, editing and arrangement of any production of print materials such as newsletters, posters, pamphlets and brochures. VI. V Shall assist the President and the Secretaries in the preparation of organizational documents such as annual reports. May form a sub-committee as needed, but which must be approved by the Executive Council. Section 7 The Social Networking/ Media Coordinator: I. Shall organize special events and conferences as scheduled. Manage the audio-visual aspects including the management of websites and social media platforms. I Shall liaise with the PRO as needed in the writing, editing and arrangement of any production of print materials such as newsletters, posters, pamphlets and brochures. IV. Evaluate members communication activities and recommend future actions. Section 7 The worship team leader

6 I. Must work under the guidance of the Music director provided by the fellowship. Must recognize, create and amplify a culture of worship unique to the fellowship. I Shall be responsible and in-charge of the worship team. IV. Shall support in the organization of all events especially concerts and worship events. Section 8 The Hospitality/Welfare Coordinator I. Coordinate the activities that involve hospitality and care I ministries. Be alert to the needs of the fellowship and its membership, and be actively involved in ways to serve those needs. Develop a team of volunteers and a mission and vision statement that will help guide the hospitality ministries. Section 9 The positions of the President, Vice president, Treasurer, General Secretary and PRO shall form the Executive Council. Other positions would be covered as the General Council. Section 10 In order to be a member of the council one must: I. Agree with the ACF s statement of faith. Maintain a healthy and growing spiritual life and lead others to do the same. I Be involved and active in the fellowship prior to election IV. Live by and uphold the Christian values as outlined by the Holy Bible. V. Show responsibility to outlined roles, and treat all members with love, respect, dignity and integrity. Section 11 All officials must meet any and all requirements for holding office

7 as stated above. If an officer fails to meet these requirements, the Executive committee has the unreserved right to discipline/dismiss the said officer following due investigations and proper documentations of reasons for such actions. Any action based on the above must follow biblical standards. ARTICLE V: ELECTIONS Section 1 The outgoing executive committee shall appoint executive committee officers for the next year. The term of office for all officials shall commence at the beginning of the last summer semester (May) and end at the same time the following year. Members of the present committee can be re-instated for same or different position as deemed fit by the council. Committee members can only hold one position at a time except if nobody is available or willing to accept the position, and the said officer accepts of their own free will. Any member at meetings prior to selection can make nomination for candidates for officers. Interested individuals can also selfnominate. Section 3 Officers shall be selected by majority vote of executive members and reviewed by the representing leaders from our affiliated sponsors. ARTICLE VI: MEETINGS Section 1 General meetings will be held once on campus on a weekly basis. The Executive Council if needed can call additional meetings. Those participating in the planning of events and other functions will be notified in a timely manner through announcements at Bible Studies, phone calls, or by .

8 Members of the Executive/General Council shall hold meetings once a month on an agreed time. Additional meetings may be called if needed. Additional Prayer meetings or Executive/General council meetings will also meet on campus. Article VIII: FUNDING Section 1 There are no dues or fees for participation in the organization. Students will be required to finance their own way to ACF retreats or conferences if required. Section 3 Presently, the Redeemed Christian Church Of God Kings and Priests Centre has accepted to provide funds for the running of the fellowship. We aim to secure more sponsors. ARTICLE VII: CONSTITUTIONAL REVIEW Section 1 This constitution shall be reviewed on an annual basis and revised or rewritten as needed. The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Kings and Priests Centre and other sponsors reserve the right to review and revise the ACF S constitution, executive committee practices, meetings, Bible Studies, and other related leadership positions from time-totime as deemed just and necessary. The ACF shall adopt and adhere to the following practices and beliefs, and statement of faith of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Kings and Priests Centre, as outlined below:

9 We believe in God - As revealed unto us by the Bible, we believe that there is only one God, Who is the Creator of both visible and invisible creatures -Gen. 1:1; Ps. 86:9-10; Is. 43:10-11; John 1:1-3. Only God will be in existence forever. Ez. 3:14; in God every creature receives life -John 5:26. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit - The egg is comprised of three parts: The yellow yolk, the whitish part, and the shell. Despite these three (3) substances, the egg is not three but one. Likewise, we believe that God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost are one God, but made of three persons hence they are ONE IN TRINITY Gen. 1:16-29; Matt. 3:16-17; Matt. 18:19 We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles - We believe that He is the Son of God; who took away our sins, and the Savior of the world. We also believe that Jesus is God and was born by Mary the Virgin. He is God revealed in the flesh. Through Him all things were created. John 1:1-14; John 14:9; Matt. 1:18-25, Is 9:6; Is 53:5-6. We believe in His death on the Cross, and resurrection, by which He brought redemption Is. 53:4-10; I Pet. 2:24; John 10:11; Gal. 3:13, Matt. 20:28; I Cor. 15:3; Rom. 4:25; II Cor. 5:14; Heb 2:9; Heb 9:26. We believe in Baptism - We believe that all members of this Church should receive immersion Water Baptism, in the Name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, as believers who would not add to, or take out of the Word of God. Matt 28:19. The Reason for Water Baptism Water Baptism stands

10 for a sign and an example of two things.(1). It is an outward sign, an example of a true repentance of a sinner from his or her sins. Acts 2:38; Acts 22:6 (2). Anybody who is baptized is joined with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection Rom. 6:1 23; Col. 2:113. Therefore anybody baptized is dead to the world and the evils thereof Gal. 6:14 We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life - The Holy Spirit is the third Person in the TRINITY. He has the same power, the same glory with God the Father and God the Son John 14:16-17; John 15:26; Matt. 3:16; Acts 13:24. He is one with Father and the Son who is to be worshiped and served. Three Persons that become one are the source of blessings to all the living creatures in Heaven and on earth Matt. 28:19; II Cor. 13:14; I John 1:5-7. The Holy Spirit has a great work to perform. He Teaches, He Speaks to men, and bears witness in us Acts 16:6-7; He performs the work of regeneration for man- John 3:5-6; He also performs the work of Sanctification in the born again souls until they are fully sanctified John 16:8; Eph 1:17-19; II Thess. 2:13; I Cor. 6:11. This same Holy Spirit endows believers with gifts they can use I Cor 12:7; He empowers one in the Lord. Acts1:8. We believe in the efficacy of prayer - A Christian without condemnation of heart has a right to thank God and be in adoration and in prayer unto the Lord always. The Holy Spirit helps his infirmities in prayer Rom. 8:26. We must pray only by the Name of JESUS John 16:23; I Tim. 2:25. It is God s plan and order that we should pray to receive all the goods He has promised in His treasure for us James 4:2; Dan. 9:3; Matt. 7:7-11; Matt. 9:24-29; Luke 11:13.

11 We believe in the Holy Communion - Our Lord Jesus Christ instituted it shortly before His death. He commanded all Christians to gather together regularly to share the bread and wine till He comes back again Luke 22:17-20; Matt. 26:26-29; Mark 14:22-25; I Cor. 10:18, 21; Acts 2:42; 20:7; I Cor. 11:23-30.
