2 Ephesians 4:1-6 1 As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. 2 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. 3 Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. 4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. 4 Ephesians 4:1-6 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that you walk worthy of the calling with which you are called, Walk: 1) to walk: a) to make one's way, You Choose Your Path to progress; You Choose your Pace to make due use of opportunities You Choose Your Opportunity

5 Ephesians 4:1-6 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received, Calling: Invitation to leave somewhere, to go somewhere and do something. of the divine invitation to embrace salvation of God Central to our lives is our divine calling, it is our salvation and God s election of our lives in Him. From Sin to Salvation, From Flesh to Spirit, From Death to Life From Darkness to Light, From mine to His,

6 Ephesians 4:2 Be completely humble humble : Seeing yourself from God s eyes 1) the having a humble opinion of one's self (Romans 12:3) For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.

7 Ephesians 4:2 Be completely humble humble : Seeing yourself from God s eyes 1) the having a humble opinion of one's self (Romans 12:3) 2) a deep sense of one's (moral) littleness (1 Tim. 1:15) Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners of whom I am the worst.

The way you communicate what you believe. 1) mildness of disposition, gentleness of spirit, meekness Disposition: A habitual inclination; a tendency, The way you are... Gentle or kind in disposition. ( harshness,hardness,cruel) meekness: suffering injury patiently without resentment.

11 Ephesians 4:2 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Patient: Ruling over your pain and discomfort 1) patience, endurance, constancy, steadfastness, perseverance 2) forbearance, longsuffering, slowness in avenging wrongs Forbearing: Being strong when others are weak 1) to hold up 2) to hold one's self erect and firm 3) to sustain, to bear, to endure

12 Ephesians 4:2 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. John 13:34-35 A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.

13 Ephesians 4:3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Endeavouring: 1) to hasten, make haste 2) to exert one's self, endeavour, give diligence

14 Ephesians 4:3 Endeavouring to keep the unity (agreement) of the Spirit in the bond of peace. To Keep: 1) to attend to carefully, take care of, to guard. The bond 1) that which binds together, a band, bond a) of ligaments by which the members of the human body are united together 2) that which is bound together, a bundle

15 Ephesians 4:3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. security, (state of being free from danger and threat, safety) prosperity, (state of flourishing and thriving) felicity, (state and quality of being happy) (because peace and harmony make and keep things safe, prosperous and happy)

16 John 17:23 I in them and you in me so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.

17 Col 3: Therefore, as God s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

18 Basis for Unity Ephesians 4:4-6 [There is] one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who [is] above all, and through all, and in you all.
