2 COMING IN JULY St. Martin of Tours is pleased to announce the introduction of an electronic option for making regular offerings. Contributions can now be debited automatically from your checking or savings account or processed using your credit or debit card. Our new electronic giving program offers convenience for you and provides much-needed donation consistency for our congregation. If you are currently giving on a weekly basis, you will no longer need to write out 52 checks a year or prepare 52 envelopes. And, when travel, illness or other circumstances prevent you from attending services, this program will allow your weekly offerings to continue an uninterrupted basis. You can now manage your giving online! Giving online is easy and allows you to set up automatic recurring contributions and view your complete online giving history from anywhere you have access to the Internet. Simply follow these easy steps: 1) Visit the church website at 2) Click on the [Give Now] button, 3) Click on the Create Profile button, then 4) Follow the onscreen instructions to create an online profile and to schedule your recurring contributions. Vacation Bible Camp will start in the Parish Hall on Monday, July 16 through Friday, July 20 from 9am to 12 noon for children 4 to 11 years old and the children will sing at the 9am Mass on Sunday, July 22. 5 THE WOMEN OF FAITH MINISTRY meets monthly to work on projects for the Parish Community at large, like the Faith Formation Programs and the prayer shawls/prayer quilts for the home bound or sick. We greatly appreciate all the yarn and fabrics that are donated for this work. As a parish, we collected $6,724. Our contributions will be combined with those from our brothers and sisters around the world to help Pope Francis provide essential relief to people in need. O LORD, BE MY HELP Today we encounter readings that draw us into the mystery of suffering and death. In the past few years we have witnessed the devastation of life and property through earthquakes and hurricanes. So many lifted their lament to God, simply asking, "Why?" This is an honest expression of anger toward a God who we believe is the giver of life. When we lose a loved one, we can wonder why the presence of Christ is not enough to make that person rise, even from death, as did the little girl in today's Gospel passage. Again we raise our voices and ask, "Why?" At moments such as these, let us make the prayer of the psalmist our own: "Hear, O LORD, and have pity on me; O LORD, be my helper." Let us pray that our mourning will one day be turned into dancing.
