3 VOL XLV NO. 06 NEWS LETTER OF THE ARCHDIOCESE OF HYDERABAD JUNE 2018 I. ARCHBISHOP'S MESSAGE Alleluia! The renewal of our baptismal life in the Holy Spirit during the recent paschal season this year brings us once again, this month of June, to the joy of celebrating the love of God s only-begotten Son in His most Sacred Heart for His Eternal Father and for His faithful flock on earth as Head of His one Catholic Church. This, the Church does all over the world on the Friday following the solemnity of the Body and Blood of the Son our Lord Jesus Christ in accordance with His expressed revelation to St. Margaret Mary. The Saturday following the feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is dedicated to the Immaculate Heart of His Virgin Mother Mary. From the time of Pope Leo XIII, the Popes have exhorted all Catholic families to renew their personal consecration to the Sacred Heart of God s incarnate Son and to the Immaculate Heart of His Virgin Mother Mary for the sanctification of their personal and family lives and for their contribution to the sanctification of their parish life. This can be realized by them only through their sacramentally sustained commitment to fulfil the commandments, duties of their state of life and the will of the Eternal Father in their individual, family and parish lives every time they join the Eternal Son s Holy Sacrifice of the Cross to His Eternal Father on the altar of their parish church by listening to and learning from His voice of truth and eating His Body and drinking His Blood in order to advance in their obedience of faith to His Eternal Father and make the love of the Sacred Heart for their everlasting salvation eschatalogically fruitful. The priestly service given by the parish priest and his fellow priests in the parish to fulfil this abiding love of the Sacred Heart of God s only begotten Son for the little flock He has canonically entrusted to them for their sanctification and eternal salvation, is

4 indeed very laudable, and will receive His own commendation at the hour of their death: Well done, good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of the Lord! RECEIPT OF LOCAL MASS INTENTIONS Sl. For the first time a proper 9 day novena Masses were initiated & been celebrated by neighbouring Parishes. A 2 day Mission Preaching was conducted in prepation for Feast. Sunday 06 th May has drawn over 2000 people from all walks of life and they all participated in Feast Day Celebrations with great Devotion. Once a gloomy and silent Church was brought breath of fresh ambience in Parish life. Church basked in the most exquisite lighting and decorations. 12 Priests concelebrated the Holy Mass. After the Holy Mass, there was a cultural program and a sumptuous banquite was arranged. As the adage goes all is well that ends well St. Joseph Church, Bolarum is the most happening place in the name of God and St. Joseph our patron. God bless all. ( - Rev. Fr. Pentareddy Gnana Reddy) 2. THE ANNUAL FEAST OF OUR LADY OF FATIMA, SURARAM PARISH : On May 13, 2018 Karunagiri Shrine, Suraram parish celebrated its annual feast of OUR LADY FATIMA MATHA with a lot of devotion. The holy Eucharist was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Cyril Doss SVD, director of the Divine Word Centre, Munthangi. He spoke on the message given by Our Lady of Fathima in her apparitions to the three children Lucia, Francisco and Jecinta especially with regarding the importance of reciting the rosary in the families and the three secrets that Mother revealed to the children. Mother Mary gave the children three secrets. Lúcia revealed the first secret in 1927, concerning devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The second secret was a vision of hell. It revealed a very terrifying scene of hell, the ugliest demons, and the poor charred and transparent burning souls of people suffering tremendously. The lady told them to start offer more prayers and sacrifices for the sinners. And the third secret was in It spoke of a bishop in white who was shot by a group of soldiers who fired bullets and arrows into him. The Lady taught the young children to pray at the end of each decade of the Rosary. It is known as the Fatima Decade Prayer. She said, When you pray the Rosary, say after each mystery: O my Jesus, forgive us; save us from the fire of hell. Lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need. When we pray this prayer, we are asking Jesus to help everyone get to heaven, especially those most in need. This simple prayer underscores our duties to care for others and to pray for others. It is so important for us to understand the need to help others. There were about 1500 people attended the Mass. 38 children and four elderly SHEPHERD S CALL JUNE
