Crossing Denominational Lines Part II Dr. S.J. Daniels, Sr.
When we speak of Denominations What do we mean?
Matthew 28: Jesus came and told his disciples, I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth.
Matthew 28: Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Matthew 28: Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.
Matthew 28: Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.
Ephesians 4:3-6 3 Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace. 4 For there is one body and one Spirit, just as you have been called to one glorious hope for the future.
Ephesians 4:3-6 5 There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 one God and Father of all, who is over all, in all, and living through all.

Question Are we STILL Baptist? What does this mean?
What Does being Baptist consist of?
Did Jesus intend for us to be separated by denominations?
The creation of Denominations are MAN MADE factions which in reality serve to segregate GOD S people. Dr. S.J. Daniels Sr.
Dreams and Visions Why are so many Non- Denominational churches being created.
There WILL NOT be a: Baptist, Southern Baptist, African Methodist Episcopal, African Methodist Episcopal Zion..
Lutheran, Episcopalian, Presbyterian, Catholic, Methodist, Church of GOD in Christ, Apostolic, Christ Disciples, or Non-Denominational.
Heaven!!!
But Rather there will be 1 KINGDOM OF GOD.
Therefore. We should strive to be one church. The church of Jesus Christ.
Protestantism- Is a form of Christian faith and practice which originated with the Protestant Reformation, a movement against what its followers considered to be errors in the Roman Catholic Church.

The Baptist Church In America.
Roger Williams and John Clarke are credited with forming the first Baptist churches in America in Rhode Island.
The Great Awakening energized the Baptist movement, and the Baptist community experienced spectacular growth.
Baptists became the largest Christian community in many southern states, including among the black population.
In May 1845, the Baptist congregations in the United States split over slavery and missions.
The Home Mission Society prevented slaveholders from being appointed as missionaries.
The split created the Southern Baptist Convention, while the northern congregations formed their own umbrella organization
Now called the American Baptist Churches USA.
The African-American church is considered by many to be the most consistent institution to emerge from slavery.
Historically black churches serve as the most important institutions in the African- American community.
Churches and mutual aide societies were the first institutions created by black people in this context.
The African-American church experienced several milestones since the first Africans came to the United States in the seventeenth century.
Many of the denominations popularized in early African- American church history spawned from the Independent Church Movement.
These denominations included: Methodist, African Methodist Episcopal, African Methodist Episcopal Zion,
Colored Methodist Episcopal, and Baptist, to name a few.
However, after the Civil War and during Reconstruction, the Baptist denomination experienced an increase in membership among African- Americans.
The Baptists especially discovered autonomy and leadership positions within their churches the Methodist church did not offer.
These African-American Baptist churches were able to create their own rules and their own democracy.
Along with this self-government came the ability to appoint leadership without outside consultation from their Caucasian counter-parts.
Along with this self-government came the ability to appoint leadership without outside consultation from their Caucasian counter-parts.
In his book The History of the Negro Church, Carter G. Woodson wrote
The freedom, which was so much in the growth of the Baptists, was thereafter a still greater cause for their expansion.
It was easier than ever for a man to become a prominent figure in the Baptist Church. Woodson continued this thought by stating:
While the Methodists were hesitating as to what recognitions should be allowed the Negroes or whether they should be set apart..
The Negro Baptists were realizing upon their new freedom which made possible the enjoyment of greater democracy in the church.
Every man was to be equal to every other man and no power without had authority to interfere.
Statement of Faiths- What we/i believe.
The Different Flavors Of Ice Cream
1 Corinthians 1: I appeal to you, dear brothers and sisters, by the authority of our Lord Jesus Christ, to live in harmony with each other. Let there be no divisions in the church. Rather, be of one mind, united in thought and purpose.
Final Thoughts/Wrap Up
So what does it mean to be Baptist?
