1 Unleashing Healing Power Through Spirit-Born Emotions Small Group Activities This supplement is for the book by the same title by Mark Virkler and Charity Virkler Kayembe, available at cwgministries.org/unleashing-book Twelve teaching sessions by Mark Virkler on DVD corresponding with the 12 chapters of Unleashing Healing Power Through Spirit-Born Emotions. Each teaching is 20 to 25 minutes long. Also included is a 45-minute video teaching by Charity Kayembe on The Power of Agreement Within as well as a bonus workshop by Mark entitled Roaring, Crying Out, and Prophetic Gestures. This is 75 minutes, which includes 45 minutes of training, 20 minutes of a guided meditation, and 10 minutes of testimonies, where three people share miracles that took place during the meditation experience. Order: Book: If the book Unleashing Healing Power Through Spirit-Born Emotions is passed out the week before class begins, then students should read the Introduction and Chapter One before the first class. If books are passed out during the first week of class, then the assigned reading due on week two will be to read the Introduction and Chapters One and Two, so they are prepared on week two to discuss Chapter Two. Small Group Activities Chapter One Teaching segment: You may choose to use the 18-minute DVD by Mark Virkler or share your own personal experiences with emotions. Experience: This exercise takes 20 minutes total (Scripture reading before the meditation, the meditation, and sharing experiences after the meditation is over). Read these Scriptures: Ezekiel 47:1-12; Revelation 22: 1, 2 (Perhaps add John 5:1-7 and John 9:7 as examples of how the Spirit heals when touched by Him). Before you begin reading, instruct people to relax, close their eyes and visualize the scene that is being read. See and feel this experience and expect miracles to occur as you are immersed in the Holy Spirit.

2 Play the River of Life Meditation 1 (12 minutes) from your laptop if the group is small, or through your church sound system for a larger group. Before turning it on, instruct them to get comfortable, to put a smile on their face and to visualize themselves being in the Upper Room as the Holy Spirit comes and fills the room and rests upon them, as He did the Apostles. Welcome the Spirit to focus His healing energy on any area of your body which needs healing. See His light especially penetrating and healing that area. Lay hands on the area. After this meditation is complete, have individuals share their experiences with one another (either small groups of two, and then large group, or just large group sharing). What did they feel? What did they experience? Acknowledge that the first time through any new experience is a bit awkward. As each of us does this meditation daily during the coming week, we will experience the Spirit s energizing and healing touch in deeper and deeper ways, especially as we relax and enter devotionally into the scene and the experience! experiences and difficulties with emotions. Offer wisdom, prayer and encouragement to those who are struggling. Extras: If you have time, do a two-way journaling exercise. Begin by playing the Sea of Galilee 2 visionary prayer (5 minutes), and then leave the music playing for another 5-7 minutes as each participant journals, asking, Lord, what do You want to speak to me about the role of emotions and my attitude toward them? This can be followed by small group sharing, in groups of two, where they read their journaling with one other person, and have it affirmed. Follow this with large group sharing, where a few volunteers read their journaling to the entire group and the group affirms them. Close: End with a prayer of thankfulness to the Lord for what He has revealed, and pray for Small Group Activities Chapter Two Teaching segment: You may choose to use the 23-minute DVD by Mark Virkler or share your personal experiences with the concepts within this chapter. Meditation Experience: New Creation Celebration Replacing Beliefs. This exercise takes 22 minutes. Even though students have been assigned to do this daily during this last week, you will have the entire class do it together. Play the devotional from your laptop if your group is small or through the church sound system for a larger group. 3 experiences, questions or difficulties with emotions or beliefs concerning the old man. Offer wisdom, prayer and encouragement to those who are struggling. Extras: Ask, Which of the 12 benefits of Calvary is the Lord asking me to put on, at this point in my life? Do I view satan as defeated and powerless to touch my life, or do I envision him as powerful and scary? What have I tried that didn t work in removing an emotion or belief of my Old Self? What has been my most successful experience in removing a belief or emotion that was part of my Old Self? Small Group Activities Chapter Three Teaching segment: You may choose to use the 24-minute DVD by Mark Virkler or share your personal experiences with emotions. Experience the New Creation Celebration Putting on Christ: This meditation exercise takes 20 minutes total (the devotional, plus sharing of experiences). Play the New Creation Celebration Putting on Christ 3 (13 minutes) from your laptop if your group is small, or through the church sound system for a larger group. Before turning it on, instruct everyone to get comfortable, to put a smile on their face and to visualize themselves together with Jesus in a comfortable setting. After this meditation is complete, have individuals share their experiences with one another (either small groups of two, and then large group, or just large group sharing). What did they feel? What did they experience? Acknowledge that the first time through any new experience is a bit awkward. As each of us completes this meditation more times, we will experience the Spirit s energizing in deeper and deeper ways, especially as we relax and enter devotionally into the scene and the experience! difficulties and experiences with the truths of this chapter. This can be followed by small group sharing, in groups of two, where they read their journaling with one other person, and have it affirmed. 4 Small Group Activities Chapter Four Teaching segment: You may choose to use the 23-minute DVD by Mark Virkler or share your personal experiences with emotions. Experience heightened Kingdom emotions which defeat an enemy (25 minute exercise). Take 5 minutes to: Explain that you are going to guide them through a battle against an enemy they are facing by using revelation knowledge, prophetic actions and various intensified Kingdom emotions to defeat the enemy. Briefly state the 10 steps below, so they know what to anticipate. Tell them to get comfortable. Move if they desire to a comfortable spot in the room, where they can stand, kneel, and journal if they choose to journal during the times they will be listening to God. Once they have moved to their spot, lead them in the exercise below, and suggest when they get to the roaring section, it is probably best to be on their feet. If you choose to let me guide in this 20-minute exercise, then use this web link 6 and begin at minute 46. Step 5 below was added after the video was made so you will want to pause the video while the group does Step 5. Unleashing Healing Power Through Spirit-Born Emotions (A Prayer Workshop) You will be guided through appropriate steps. Honor the Spirit s flowing thoughts, pictures and emotions, acting upon them IN CHILDLIKE FAITH. You are welcome to journal out what God is speaking and doing. Get into a comfortable location and position. Plan on standing as you declare healing, roar, and do prophetic gestures 1. Come into God's presence I will give thanks to the LORD with all my heart; I will tell of all Your wonders (Ps. 9:1,2). (1 minute) 2. Lord, what enemy do You want to defeat today? Accept in faith what comes to you. (1 minute) 3. What sins do You want me to repent of (mine and generational), so this enemy has no legal rights to affect the situation? Sins can include: actions, beliefs, judgments, unforgiveness and curses. Accept in faith what comes to you. (2 minutes) 4. I repent and experience cleansing of sins and generational curses, and I see Jesus cleansing and purifying, making me white as snow. (2 minutes) 5. I declare that by His stripes I (insert name) am healed! Speak this with vision, emotion and passion 4-5 times. SEE the price He paid to purchase your healing. Declare, "I will not squander this precious gift which was purchased at such a great price!" (Repeat 3-4 times, emphatically.) 6

5 6. Join with Jesus in roaring at the enemy The LORD roars from Zion going forth like a warrior, He raises a war cry. He prevails against His enemies (Joel 3:16; Isa. 42:13; 1 Jn. 3:8). I use the name of Jesus and see Him joining me in roaring at and rebuking the enemy and commanding demons to be gone in His name! I get intense! (2 minutes) 7. Lord, what prophetic action do You want me to take to defeat this adversary? Does He want you to strike, sever, push back, walk, leap, cleanse, etc.? Listen for His direction. (2 minutes) 8. I perform this prophetic action with passion, conviction, intensity and thoroughness, knowing that as I do it, His Spirit's power is being released to battle. (2 minutes) 9. Lord, give me a vision of this promise fulfilled See it DONE! Feel Kingdom emotions of joy and gladness sweep over your being. Head and heart come into harmony. (2 minutes) 10. Victory is released as I thank Him Celebrate the victory you see with joy and laughter as you gaze upon the promise fulfilled. As Paul was singing praises to God, chains were unfastened (Acts 16:25-26). (2 minutes) Follow-Up Steps 1. Repeat this exercise as necessary to FULLY experience your miracle (Ps. 55:17). 2. Deepen the revelation through two-way journaling ( Lord, what more do You want to speak to me concerning this issue? What additional steps do You want me to take to experience full healing? 3. Create your memorial: It is important that you create a memorial of what God has done so you can look back at it and always remember this day of divine victory. Write out a summary of what God has done today for your future reference. Perhaps He will have you create or purchase a visual which represents this victory. 4. Share your testimony and inspire faith in others: The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy and others will be blessed knowing that what God did for you He wants to do for them too (Rev. 19:10). in the devotional the group just completed. Experience the 7 Step Healing Model found here: This devotional exercise takes about 20 minutes. If you have obtained wallet-size cards of this 7 Step Healing Model from CWG Ministries, then distribute them so everyone has one. You can hold this card in the palm of your left hand, while praying and laying your right hand on the person you are praying for. This can be a simple reminder of the steps you want to process through as you minister healing. First exercise: The group facilitator leads everyone in praying these 7 steps over themselves, once. Second exercise: Break into groups of two, having one person pray for the other following these 7 steps. Pray down through the steps 2-3 times, as you pray for your partner. 1. Love Express Compassion toward Self and Others 2. Honor Ask, What s Wrong? 3. Sensitivity Become Still, Listen & Follow God s instructions Specifically Forgive ALL 4. Awareness Invite God s Presence His Compassion & Power to Heal 5. Authority Command Body Parts Be Healed in Jesus Name, Rebuke Spirits 6. Thanksgiving Thank God as You Test Out Your Body 7. 9 request prayer for deliverance from demons. Generally it is best to have someone pray the deliverance prayer over you, rather than praying it yourself. The group leader can model this with a volunteer who has completed a Contributing Strands Worksheet and brought the worksheet to class. This will have the complete list of demons which he needs deliverance from. Offer wisdom, prayer and encouragement. Your testimony is extremely powerful Your testimony of the transforming power of God becomes your sword. It is your personal experience of God s amazing working in your life. Paul shared his testimony of his salvation experience in Acts 9, several times. Gain your personal testimony by experiencing the Holy Spirit s transforming power daily until you receive your miracle. Then write it up so you are prepared to share it. A glimpse into the future Kingdom Freedom conferences, workshops, extravaganzas Now that we have the building blocks we have discovered in this book, what might we build? The following possibilities excite me and make me want to explore them. We could teach and practice together the following: 1. What faith energized by love looks like 2. The role of heightened Kingdom emotions 3. How New Creation Celebration Replacing Emotions writes messages on our hearts

10 4. Releasing stored cellular memories 5. Deliverance from demons through prayers that heal the heart This several-day conference, or three-month series, would entail guided sessions utilizing the tools from this book. The goal is to see people set free and delivered of emotional, spiritual and physical bondages in their lives. Working through this book and video series with friends and family makes a powerful twelve-week small group training experience. Heightened Kingdom emotions and personal transformation strike me as similar to revivals of the past such as the Holiness, Pentecostal, Charismatic and Laughing revivals, to name a few. If we instruct, and then lead people into hearing and seeing and feeling God, we would ensure that the heightened Kingdom emotions came from one s spirit and not their souls. Since we are defining, delineating and purifying the process of intense emotional encounters flowing from our spirits, could we expect even greater results than in previous revivals? Could this usher in a move of God? This book and DVD teaching can serve as training tools to precipitate such a Freedom Workshop. I challenge you to master these truths and then explore leading groups into experiencing them, with the goal of promoting Kingdom freedom in people s hearts and lives! Since our goal is to practice truth in the classroom, you will now have practiced a devotional in each of the twelve weeks you have spent together. in the devotional the group just completed.
