One day he was in his house and God called to him, Ananias! Here I am, Lord, Ananias replied. Go to a street called Straight, God said. Find a man named Saul, who is praying there. He has seen you in a vision (a special experience when God gave Saul specific instructions) coming to help him. I know about this man, Ananias said. He wants to hurt all the people who love Jesus. Go and help him, God said. I will use this man to tell people about My Son, Jesus. So Ananias went to the house and found Saul. Saul had been blinded by a bright light on the road into the city. They began to cause trouble for Paul and Barnabas. People wanted to hurt them. But Paul and Barnabas found out about this and left to go to another city. When they were in a city called Lystra, they healed a man who could not walk. When the people saw what they did, they thought Paul was God. Paul said, I am only a man like you. We are proclaiming the good news that you should turn from worthless things to the living God, who made heaven and earth. More people tried to hurt Paul and Barnabas, so they left that city. They traveled to many towns, spreading the good news that Jesus was the Son of God. Many people believed in what they said. They returned to the church in Antioch, which had sent them out. The commander ordered that Paul be taken to the barracks. Before they could take him away, Paul asked the commander if he could speak to the crowd.
