Every Parish in the Archdiocese is assigned to have a mission appeal Sunday. For our Parish this is December 3rd and 4th. The priest speaking about the Mission Appeal is Fr. Cruz. Please read below about Fr. Cruz and his Congregation. The Mission Society of the Philippines (MSP) is Missionary Society of Apostolic Life founded by the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines on 1965 to recruit, train, and send Filipino missionaries to the foreign missions. The MSP has gained Pontifical Right recognition from the Congregation of the Evangelization of Peoples (CEP) in Since its Foundation, the MSP has served in Indonesia, Thailand, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Cook Islands, Tuvalu, Tokelau, Japan, Taiwan, US, Australia, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Guyana, American Samoa, United Arab Emirates, South Korea and Oman. The MSP mission is focused on parish evangelization, re-evangelization through the creation of basic ecclesial communities, lay formation program and the formation of the local seminarians. The MSP is also active in apostolate involving migrants and indigenous people. The seminary plays a vital role in the propagation of our Christian faith. The MSP has 37 seminarians. This coming December 3, 2016, three of them will be ordained to the Sacred Order of Deacons. The MSP seminarians were housed in the first MSP seminary in Tagaytay City that was built almost half a century ago, already deteriorating, irreparable and structurally unsafe. In order not to disrupt the formation of our seminarians; the MSP Council is planning to construct a new formation house under a very limited budget. We want to send more missionaries to the foreign missions. It is for this reason that the MSP will participate in the Missionary Cooperative Plan here in St. Elizabeth Parish, Milton (December 3 & 4, 2016) to humbly ask your financial assistance to help us build a new seminary in order for us to continue the formation of our young seminarians who are enthusiastic, motivated and more than willing to serve in the missions. George & Mary Lou Ashur The Grand Annual Appeal Update From the 1,077 registered families here at St. Elizabeth, 157 families thus far have donated $93,021 to our Grand Annual. We are most appreciative to those families who have supported this Appeal. Please remember whatever you give to this Appeal stays in our parish to cover expenses of our day to day operation. If you did not receive a letter, you are not registered. If you would like to become a parishioner, please call the parish office to register. There are Grand Annual packets at the front doors for your use. Parish Stewardship Offertory for November 20th $6,508 Retired Religious Sister $5,811 As always we thank you for your generosity. The offertory is our primary means of meeting parish weekly operational expenses. If you are interested in the Electronic Giving Program, please take a form at the entrance of the church or go onto our website ww.stelizabethmilton.org, click About/Electronic Giving. Christmas Cards for Our Home-bound Parishioners. Children and families are invited to make Christmas cards for home-bound members of our St. Elizabeth's community after the 9:30 Mass on December 4th in the lower church during the social hour. Cards, stickers, stamps, crayons, and markers will be provided. Kids are asked to bring their creativity and Christmas spirit. The cards will be attached to flowers that will be delivered to our homebound parishioners for Christmas by the Christian Service Committee. We hope you can join us on 12/4. The annual Christmas Pageant will be held on Sunday, December 18, 2016 following a 15 minute break after the 9:30 Family Mass (so about 10:40). Immediately after Holy Communion, Father Steve will dismiss the children to Father Curley Hall to dress for the pageant. Volunteers will be on hand to help children with their costumes. The Rehearsals for the Christmas Pageant Choir will be held as follows: Monday, November 28 th from 5:00 6:00 pm in Father Curly hall for the following cast members: Gabriel, Mary, Joseph, Elizabeth Monday, December 5th from 5:00 6:00 pm in Father Curly hall for the following cast members: Gabriel, Mary, Joseph, Elizabeth, Little Drummer boy, Innkeeper, all the narrators Monday, December 12th from 5:00 6:00 pm in Father Curly hall for the ENTIRE cast dress rehearsal Tuesday, December 14 th from 5:45 6:30 Full run through with the entire cast and the choir (no costumes) If you would like your child to participate in the Christmas Pageant, please Andrea O Connor at StElizabethsChristmasPageant@outlook.com In order for your child to be in the pageant he/she must be able to stand/sit at the altar without a parent for at least 30 minutes. For any speaking role, he/she must be able to attend all of the rehearsals indicated above. Roles will be assigned and ed to you by Saturday, November 26 th. St. Elizabeth s Giving Tree Beginning This weekend, we invite you to take a tag off the Giving Trees located in the parking lot elevator entrance and the front entrance of the church. We ask that you return all gifts unwrapped, in a bag with the tag as soon as possible. Time is crucial. This year St. Elizabeth Church is helping the following organizations: Bridge Over Trouble Water, Milton Residence Fund, St. Mary s for Women and Children, Dove, and Long Island. Shelter. What a great crew of servers! Thanks to Gabby Grattan, Patrick Kennedy, Synnove Ask and Allison Kussman. The Family Mass had great participation as well by our Confirmation Students, Keira Glynn, Rebecca Noris and Matthew Noris. So nice to see our students so actively involved with the Parish! Donations of new adult size hats and gloves as well as $5.00 Dunkin Donut gift cards are being collected for St. Francis House, the largest homeless day shelter in Boston. They provide care for homeless and struggling individuals. Serving breakfast and lunch 365 days a year, showers, mail services, access to clothing basically everything needed on a daily basis. Please have your child bring their donation to Faith Formation. Christmas Gift Donations for the 140 (60 girls and 80 boys) teens ages in the Milton Residence Fund are greatly needed. Some suggestions are: nail polish, sport team apparel, gift cards, movie passes, anything a teen you may know would like. Please have your child bring in their donation to Faith Formation by December 12 th. We welcome members from AA this Monday evening who will share their stories with our students in grades It is always a powerful and inspiring night. We begin Advent this Sunday! Students will be sent home from class with an Advent Calendar. Please try to complete the suggested activities, which not only draws you and your children closer to Jesus but helps to ready us for His return. Please pray : Lord Jesus, help me to stay awake and be prepared for your return. Come into my heart this Advent. Amen.
