8 FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH We are soldiers in the Lord s Army! Read Ephesians 6:10-18 YOUNG PEOPLE HAVE ARMOR THAT FITS THEM! Can you fight without being strong in the Lord? Can you fight without the power of His might? Can you fight without putting truth in your life, doing right things, sharing your faith with others, having faith to be a good example, reading the word of God and praying EVERY day? To win a victory we must have a BATTLE PLAN! Write out your battle plan for the day: (how can you fight Satan today; and tomorrow; and next week?) What are some things you claim victory for but also experience defeat? How can I do better? VICTORY DEFEAT That you keep this commandment without spot, blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ's appearing Timothy learned the importance of keeping the commandments of God! 11 LESSON FIVE GODLY TRAINING TRAINING TIMOTHY Take Time Learning To Live In The Word Of God (2 Timothy 3:14-17) All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17) The Bible was written by around 40 men during a period of 1500 years who lived in different parts of the world, and were from different walks of life. They wrote in at least three different languages: Hebrew, Chaldean & Koine Greek. The Bible shows me that I am a special creation of God! b. The Bible tells me the story of Jesus Christ, God s Son! c. The Bible tells me what is right and wrong! 2) For Reproof helping people a. The Bible teaches us how to love and forgive others. b. The Bible shows us how to deal with our enemies. c. The Bible helps me find answers to life as a young person. 3) For Correction make right decisions a. The Bible shows me the mistakes of others so I can learn from them. b. The Bible helps me make the right choice about sex, drugs, alcohol, friends, etc. c. The Bible gives me the best answers to understand life and death. 4) For Training in Righteousness showing me how to live a. The Bible tells me I am God s child and He loves me. b. The Bible gives me courage to overcome hard things in life. c. The Bible makes me know the truth of who I am. TAKE WARNING As a person of God I will run after good things and fight against the sinful lusts of the world.
