FUMC Group meets at Helping His Hands (1107 Main Street) on Thursdays at 10:00 am. Packing takes around an hour. Come join us! We will be consecrating our FUMC Staff Members for the new year Sunday, January 8 th at our 9:30 am service. Watch the Midweek News and Bulletin for who we will be filling our boxes for in January! The staff would like to thank everyone who brought in delectable Christmas treats, gifts and cards for our enjoyment. We are truly blessed to work for and be a part of such a wonderful and loving church family! We will not be hosting a Dine with a Doc event in January. We look forward to seeing you in February for our next Doc! Our Christmas Elves listen to the Children s Message Advent... Thank you to everyone who gave so generously. We are pleased to send checks to help these three organizations help those in need. $1,795 VCSC School Nurse Fund $1,825 Loaves & Fishes $1,945 Volunteers needed... 6 Intentional Faith Development Team Minutes November 28, 2016 In attendance: Mary Robertson, Paul Wagner, Patrick Schutz, Roberta Wagner, Ann Hedde & Sandra Ave. Regrets received: None Meeting opened with prayer by Paul. College Care Packages: We will send $15 pizza gift cards to the college students (we have 14 college students this year). Patrick will purchase the gift cards and mail them in the greeting cards he already has with a note about the devotional they will begin receiving. End of Year Report to Administrative Council: We met 2 of our 4 goals that were set for the year. Mary will prepare a report for the council and will include in it things we did outside of our goas such as starting the Beginner s Sunday School class that has had 8 different children attend at some point, more than once. Goal setting for next year: Roberta will do this at the next meeting as the new coordinator. Goals are due to council by end of January Children s Outreach Event: We have received $7,000 from Wills & Bequests. We will get $3,000 now so that we can get things started and then the rest in Our target group for the event will be elementary children and their families. Looking at holding the event in August or September of (This event replaces VBS) Patrick has been looking at possible speaker/activities/shows. Next meeting: Wednesday, January 6:00 pm. We will decide at this meeting what our regular meeting date/time will be for Meeting closed with prayer by Patrick. Contract with Anthis Heating and Plumbing has been cancelled. New Business: 1. Sound System has been repaired. The surge protectors were blown. Chris Witt spent many hours repairing the system. Darcy Lyle made a motion we pay him $150 for his services. Motion seconded by Dr. Mark Hendrix. Motion carried. 2. The washing machine at the parsonage has a recall. This has been repaired. 3. Roof had a leak in Dr. Dan Miller s office. Roof Company was called. Future Projects: 1. Repair parking lot 2. Repair stained glass windows. First United Methodist Church Corporation Meeting: Presided over by Dana Klipsch The following nominated to be officers: President: Bill Ritterskamp Vice-President: Brent Johnson Secretary: Darcy Lyle Dr. Dave Hermes seconded this slate. Motion carried. The meeting was closed with prayer. Dr. Mark Hendrix made a motion to adjourn the meeting. The motion was seconded. Meeting adjourned. A second was made by Darcy Lyle. Motion carried. The Risk Taking Missions and Service Ministry Report: The project for this month is a mitten tree. New Business: 1. Donut Fellowship - will be deferred to the Worship Team 2. Request for donations for Superintendent and staff for Christmas gift. Dana Klipsch suggested giving $25. Members agreed. 3.
