Send the bracelets and money to Book of Hope International. 4. Memorize the following Scripture passage, Romans 10:13,14.* *Shorten to appropriate length for all club levels.
2 Note: This merit is designed to reward a girl who learns the Bible Fact-Pak and demonstrates that knowledge by successfully competing on a JBQ team. 1. Compete on a B-level or higher quiz team. 2. Score a minimum of 500 career points of quizzing during matches of league or higher quizzing. 3. Quiz out by answering the maximum number of questions allowed per match at least three times in your JBQ career. 4. Earn the Searcher Seal as described on the JBQ website: *Only Friends in sixth grade may complete the Junior Bible Quiz.

Collect the money in your Baby Bootie Bank and turn in at a club meeting in two months. 3. What was the problem? c. How did God solve the problem? d. What did you learn from this story? 3. With your parents help, choose a BGMC faith promise amount and give it three months in a row. Put your offering in an envelope you have marked for your BGMC faith promise before you place it in the offering. You can turn in your offering to your sponsor. 4. Find out what your church gave to BGMC last year. List two ways you can help raise money for BGMC in your church. Note: Ask you sponsor for a copy of the What is BGMC? informational brochure available from Gospel Publishing House or

Score a minimum of 750 career points in Bible Quiz during matches of league or higher quizzing. 3. Memorize at least one-third of the designated study material for a quiz year.
6 1. Write a 300-word report based on an interview with a pastor or missions coordinator that will explain each of the following: a. The definition of missions home and world b. The number of missionaries your church supports monthly c. The number of countries represented by missionaries your church supports d. The types or areas of home missionaries supported by your church e. Three Bible references relating to missions 2. Research the following Assemblies of God ministries (or the equivalent ministries of your denomination). Write to the national office of each of the ministries listed below to ask for information. Then organize the returned information into a folder. a. Light for the Lost provides literature for worldwide evangelism. b. Teen Challenge provides help for troubled youth. c. Speed the Light provides communication and transportation equipment for missionaries worldwide. d. Boys and Girls Missionary Crusade equips children to know about, pray for, and give to missionaries worldwide. e. Missions Abroad Placement Service provides opportunities for service at world mission sites. f. Mission America Placement Service provides opportunities for service at home mission sites. g. Ambassadors in Mission youth world missions program. h. Convoy of Hope aid for poor families and disaster victims. 3. Choose a home missionary and a world missionary from your district, and write them to learn of their current activities and job descriptions. Also, ask them to describe the country or area in which they minister. 4. Either interview a visiting missionary or write a missionary from your district. Ask the missionary how he or she received eived the call to missions. 5. If possible, visit a home missions work or a pioneer church in your district. 6. Write a letter to, or go to the website of Assemblies of God World Missions or the world missions department of your denomination. Request a brochure about becoming a missionary. Read the brochure, then without looking at the brochure explain to your sponsor all the steps a missionary goes through to get to the mission field. Read two Mission America editions and two World Missions editions of Today s Pentecostal Evangel, or read two newsletters each from your denomination s home and world missions departments. Choose one article you have read and share it with your club. Have the group pray with you for the missionary or the work discussed in that article. Select a missionary, and pray for him for one month. 9. Select and read TWO of the following books about missions: a. Any selection from the Heroes of the Faith series (contact Assemblies of God World Missions to order) b. From Jerusalem to Irian Jaya, by Ruth A. Tucker c. Any other missions book approved by your sponsor
7 Note: Visit the Convoy of Hope website to help you fulfill the requirements of this merit at 1. Answer the following questions about Convoy of Hope: a. When was it created? b. Why was it created? c. What types of outreaches and projects is Convoy of Hope involved in? Name at least four. d. How can individuals partner with Convoy of Hope? 2. Be a volunteer worker at a Convoy of Hope event (for a minimum of 6 hours). 3. Write a three-page report on the Convoy of Hope event that you assisted as a worker. 4. Give three Scripture verses that refer to missions.
8 Be a participant in a Fine Arts Festival or competition and receive a Superior or a Superior With Invitation rating at the District level.
9 1. Read the entire pamphlet of the Assemblies of God Information Series: Our 16 Doctrines. Look up and read all accompanying Scriptures that are listed in the publication. 2. For each main truth, write on a separate piece of paper, in your own words, what this truth means to you. 3. Recite, in one session, the major heading or title of each of the 16 fundamental truths of the Assemblies of God to your sponsor. The 16 Fundamental Truths are also available at

Where is Highlands located? c. What is the Path of Life at Highlands? d. There are 3 main groups of people who are helped by the ministry of Highlands. Name them and tell how they are blessed through the Highlands ministry. 2. Find three people in the Bible who were adopted. Choose one of the three people to use as a short devotion. Schedule a time with your sponsor to present this devotion to your group. 3. Guided by your sponsor, plan a fundraising event for Highlands. See the AG Faimly Services Web site for ideas. Contact AG Family Services for pro-life materials to distribute at your event. The fundraiser will fulfill this element for each member of your group. Send your offering to the Assemblies of God national headquarters, ATTN: AG Family Services with a paragraph describing what you did. 4. Find out what your church gave to AG Family Services last year, and how much was sent to Highlands. List 2 ways you can help the people in your church become more aware of the needs and testimonies of Highlands.

Set up a prayer schedule for each day of the week. 3. Make a list of things you want to pray about each day. 4. Write a personal prayer of thanksgiving. (See 1 Thessalonians 5:18.)

Visit the National Prayer Center (NPC) website 9. Write a report discussing the two ways your church can partner with the NPC. 10. Submit your report to your senior pastor for approval and then present it to an adult Sunday School class or the entire church body.

14 1. Read a biographical book about a foreign missionary. 2. Explain to your sponsor the biblical basis for world missions as printed in Pentecostal Evangel, September 3, Participate in the financial support of world missions by giving to or raising funds for a recognized missionary or missions program (such as Speed-the-Light, Light-for-the-Lost, Boys and Girls Missionary Crusade, Latin America Child Care, etc.). 4. Correspond ( or mail) with world missionary families from at least five different countries. 5. Write a 500-word report on one nation that includes the following information: a. A brief history of the country b. The major religions c. The type of government d. The population (its ethnic diversity) e. The geography f. Missions involvement 6. Explain in detail the process of becoming a missionary (being called of God, applying, being appointed, attending language school, itinerating, etc.). This information may be obtained by contacting your national department of world missions. 7. Actively participate in a missions trip other than an AIM (youth missions program) or MAPS (home or world missions) trip of at least 1 week in a foreign country with a recognized missionary within your denomination. (You must be at least 15 years old and be accompanied by a parent or guardian.) Write a 500-word report on your trip. 8. Give three Scripture references concerning foreign missions.
15 1. Contact the Assemblies of God National Youth Department (or an equivalent department in your denomination) and arrange to take an AIM trip or other missions trip for youth. During the trip, keep a daily journal of your experiences and involvement. 4. Write a 500-word article about your trip. Explain, using information from the literature you have gathered, what the AIM or other missions program is all about.
