1 Pilgrimage to Rome and Florence with Christ Church Nashville Dear Fellow Pilgrims- Italy is at the very root of Western civilization and also our Christian faith. Together with Israel and Greece, Italy is the birthplace of much that we hold dear in both our culture and our faith. On this pilgrimage, we will explore those cultural and spiritual roots and celebrate the joyful gifts that contemporary Italy offers the world. The beauty of experiencing a pilgrimage to a place of such significance is to not only shake us from our daily routines and experience a broader world but also to deepen our connections to the rich history of our faith. Throughout this pilgrimage, we will visit sites from early Christendom, relish in the stunning Italian artistic expressions, have dinner and fellowship with a presentday community of Franciscan monks, and of course enjoy delicious food to ensure your mind, spirit, and bodies are filled to the brim. We believe God has powerful things in store for our team as we embark on this once-in-a-lifetime trip together. 2 Proposed Itinerary October 16 - Group departs Nashville Rome - October 17 - Arrive Rome early afternoon. After being met at the airport by our Italian guide and Andrew W Lyon Travel representative, we ll head to your first four star hotel to check-in and freshen up. We ll take a brief guided Sunset Papal Walking Tour of Sant Angelo Castle, ending with a 360 degree view of the Eternal City from the Angel s Terrace. Afterward, we'll have a traditional Italian welcome dinner in the left wing of the Papal Palazzo before retiring to the hotel for the night. Overnight Rome. Rome - October 18 - This morning we ll head straight to the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel to make sure we cross this must see item off everyone's list. The ceilings of the Sistine Chapel are just one stunning piece of art we'll highlight among the nearly 9 miles of art spread across 2,000 rooms. After the visit, we'll have free time to explore the area and find lunch on our own, before heading to St. Peter s Basilica and the Vatican Grottos. Afterward, we'll have an option to ride the bus back to the hotel for the evening or meander the streets of Rome on the way back to the hotel for the night. Our guide will give dinner recommendations for either option. Overnight Rome. Rome - October 19 - Rome has layers of history, and throughout the day we ll discover Ancient Rome on a walking tour, including the Colosseum and Imperial Forum. Nearly two millennia old, these were the very heart of the political and every day life in ancient Rome. After the visit, we ll have lunch and some free time, before heading to St. Clement and St. Peter in Chains Basilicas. St. Peter in Chains was founded in the fifth century to guard the chain which tightened St. Peter s body in Jerusalem. The cathedral still houses this relic and is also the location of one of MIchelangelo s most famous sculptures of Moses. After these visits, the group can again take the bus back to the hotel for the evening or walk back to the hotel and find dinner along the way. Overnight Rome. Rome and Assisi - October 20 - This morning we ll check out of our hotel in Rome and depart for the Catacombs of St. Caluxtus - the burial place of martyrs and popes underneath the city. We ll have a leisurely lunch together in the Antica Roma Restaurant, immersed in the Antique Appian Park. After lunch, we ll transfer to our hotel in Assisi and spend the evening with free time to explore the city and dine independently. Overnight Assisi. Assisi and Florence - October 21 - After checking out of our hotel, we ll chase Francis, beginning with a guided tour of the incredible Basilica of San Francesco where St. Francis chose to be buried. Next, we ll move to the Basilica of Santa Chiara, his original burial place. We ll have some time to wander the ancient streets of Assisi and find some lunch, after which we ll take our coach toward Florence and have a guided visit and dessert at San Miniato al Monte Abbey. After spending so much time contemplating ancient Christianity, we ll have dry desert and infusion tasting with the monks who live and work at the Abbey. After dessert, we ll check-in to our hotel in Florence for dinner and retire for the night. Overnight Florence.

3 Proposed Itinerary Florence - October 22 - We ll spend some time in Florence today, first visiting the Florence Cathedral and Holy Cross Basilica, the burial place of Michelangelo, Galileo, Rossini, and Machiavelli, to name a few. We ll have some time in the early afternoon to relax and explore Florence at leisure. Some may even choose to rest at the hotel after the busy itinerary so far! Later in the afternoon, we ll travel to the Chianti Hills to an enchanting medieval castle for a Pasta Making Course with professional chef and Tuscan dinner, which will include the pasta the group makes! After dinner, we ll return to Florence and overnight. Pienza - October 23 - After departing Florence, we ll drive through the Tuscan countryside to a design winery in the heart of the Chianti Hills for a private wine tour and tasting. After the optional tasting, we'll have a stop for a light lunch before stopping in Pienza for the night. We ll leave plenty of time to wander the streets of this Tuscan town, find dinner independently, and overnight in Pienza. Pienza and return to Rome - October 24 - This morning, we ll take a brief walking tour of the Pienza Historical Centre, before heading to a cheese tasting picnic lunch at the Pienza Pecorino Cheese Factory deep in Tuscany. We ll then head back to Rome for one last night in the eternal city, capped off by a private farewell dinner. Depart Rome and arrive USA - October 25 - Today we ll check out of the hotel and depart for the USA. Because of the time difference, the group should arrive in the USA on the same day in the afternoon.

If trip is cancelled more than 90 days from date of departure funds are fully refundable days before departure, 50% of trip costs will be refunded. If trip is cancelled 59 days before date of departure, NO REFUNDS will be issued. PHOTO RELEASE I hereby grant permission to Andrew W Lyon LLC (hereinafter AWL Travel) and, its agents, or employees to use any and all photographs taken of me, with or without using my name and affiliation, resulting from my participation on this travel experience. I understand and acknowledge that the photographs or video may be used in AWL Travel publications, both printed and electronic, and may be published in any manner, including advertising media, periodicals, gift cards, calendars, postcards, Web site, or as deemed appropriate by AWL Travel. I hereby waive any right to inspect or approve the finished photographs or printed or electronic matter that may be used in conjunction with them now or in the future, whether that use is known to me or unknown, and I waive the right to any royalties or other compensation arising from or related to the use of the photograph or video material. I hereby agree to release, defend, and hold harmless AWL Travel, its CEO, Officers, Agents, or Employees. including any firm publishing and/or distributing the finished product in whole or on part, whether on paper or electronic media, from and against any claims, damages, or liability arising from or related to the use of the photographs, including but not limited to any misuse, distortion, blurring, alteration, optical illusion or use in composite form, either intentionally or otherwise that may occur or be produced in taking, processing, reduction, or production of the finished product, its publication, or distribution. I have read this release before signing below, and I fully understand the contents, meaning, and impact of this release. I understand that such travel may be hazardous and involve the risk of injury, sickness and possibly death, as well as damage to property, when traveling to and from and/or within these international destinations. I understand that I may need to travel and live in very primitive areas, risk violence from crime, war, terrorism, political unrest and other dangers, and may be exposed to food and water-borne diseases and to disease from other carriers or while traveling internationally. I understand that some diseases may not produce symptoms during the actual trip, but may occur after the trip. I understand also that medical facilities abroad may not be of the quality of medical facilities in the United States. I understand that there may be delays and sudden change of schedules and/or cancellation of schedules. While reasonable care will be taken in selecting transportation, I understand that breakdowns and delays may occur. I understand that circumstances may arise such that I might be asked not to go on this trip or to return early, and that only those monies refunded to Andrew W Lyon Travel (Andrew W Lyon LLC) or still in the possession of Andrew W Lyon Travel (Andrew W Lyon LLC) will be refunded to me. I acknowledge that I am in good physical condition. I understand also that the journey may involve strenuous physical activity, including, but not limited to, long walks and hiking in hills and or/mountainous areas. I understand and acknowledge that while Andrew W Lyon Travel (Andrew W Lyon LLC) may take reasonable steps to insure my safety during travel and while participating in Andrew W Lyon Travel (Andrew W Lyon LLC) sponsored activities while abroad, that these precautions are merely made in good faith and do not warrant acceptance of liability, nor guarantee that actions undertaken will demonstrate and/or constitute non-negligent performance therein by the organization, its agents or assignees. I voluntarily and personally assume the risk of any and all consequences of my travel with Andrew W Lyon Travel (Andrew W Lyon LLC) and those partnering ministries and organizations selected by Andrew W Lyon Travel (Andrew W Lyon LLC) to provide travel. I expressly waive my right and the right of any of my heirs, legal representatives and assigns to sue or otherwise collect damages of any kind from Andrew W Lyon Travel (Andrew W Lyon LLC), its officers, personnel or volunteers, or from my church, its officers, personnel or volunteers, resulting from any cause whatsoever including but not limited to sickness, personal injury, property damage, delay, and change of schedule, wrongful death, theft or loss of property. In the event any term or provision of this WAIVER OF LIABILITY is found to be unenforceable or void, in whole or in part, then the offending term shall be construed as valid and enforceable to the maximum extent permitted by law, and the balance with this WAIVER OF LIABILITY shall remain in full force and effect. This WAIVER OF LIABILITY shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Indiana. By accepting terms and conditions of this agreement, I have voluntarily and without duress signed this WAIVER OF LIABILITY form. I assert that I have read and fully understand the above WAIVER OF LIABILITY, and that I agree to accept the terms of this WAIVER OF LIABILITY in full.
