First 3.5 years A Harlot system will be established upon the earth that will express its deceitfulness in 2 dimensions. First, a religious system (worship). Second, an economic system (financial). Both will be interwoven together and will seduce the people of the earth in a façade of global unity and peace. The system hinders Christians who stand for righteousness by means of death. (First 3.5 years) (See session #1 Notes Rise of One World Order ) II. Last 3.5 Years (21 Judgments Start Here!) In response to the injustice on God s people, the Lord will judge this Babylon/Harlot System by raising up the Anti-Christ who has the capability to overthrow and conquer the Harlot System (Last 3.5 years). (See Session #2 Notes- Rise of the Anti-Christ ). Thus, Seals 1-4 are opened by Jesus: The Anti-Christ, at first, is actually used as in instrument of God s righteous will in judging the Harlot System (See Session #4 Notes- The 4 Horsemen ). 4 Today s Session is all about the 7 th Trumpet I. Uniqueness of the 7 th Trumpet A. The 7 th Trumpet, just like the 7 th Seal stands alone. B. Just like the 7 th Seal directed us to God s release of the 7 Trumpets, now the 7 th Trumpet will also direct us to God s release of the final 7 Bowls of Wrath. C. However, unlike the 7 th Seal, there is a unique intensity about this 7 th Trumpet that is totally different than all of the other Judgments. 1. As promised, The 7 Th Trumpet contains the final Woe that the Angel had said would happen after the 4 th Trumpet (See notes on the first 4 Trumpets). Rev 8:13 And I looked, and I heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice," Woe, woe, woe to the inhabitants of the earth, because of the remaining blasts of the trumpet of the three angels who are about to sound!" Meaning that the 5 th Trumpet contains a Woe. The 6 th Trumpet contains the 2 nd Woe, which is a more intense judgment, and the 7 th Trumpet contains the final Woe, which will be an even more intense judgment than the previous Woe s. (even though it is not specifically mentioned after the 7 th Trumpet). Again, as learned in the previous session, the 3 woes of the final 3 Trumpets directly affect the inhabitants of the earth. 2. It is interesting that when the 6 th Trumpet sounded, the 2 nd Woe is not mentionedyet. This is because there is a short interlude (a disruptive break in the chronological sequence). However, I currently believe that the interlude ends and picks back up chronologically precisely following the resurrection of the 2 prophets and the severe earthquake that follows. See next page. 5 Rev 11: For three and a half days men from every people, tribe, language and nation will gaze on their bodies and refuse them burial. 10 The inhabitants of the earth will gloat over them and will celebrate by sending each other gifts, because these two prophets had tormented those who live on the earth. 11 But after the three and a half days a breath of life from God entered them, and they stood on their feet, and terror struck those who saw them. 12 Then they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, "Come up here." And they went up to heaven in a cloud, while their enemies looked on. 13 At that very hour there was a severe earthquake and a tenth of the city collapsed. Seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the survivors were terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven. 14 The second woe has passed; the third woe is coming soon These 2 Prophets are going to be caught up to heaven and many will see it. It s at that time, the Scripture says that the 2 nd Woe has passed. Could it be that the 2 Prophets who went up to heaven will foreshadow (at global level) all the saints that will be raptured which will spark the 3 rd Woe? 3. As stated before, I believe that the interlude (which is a short break in the story line) ends and picks back up chronologically with the death and resurrection of the 2 Prophets followed by the severe earthquake. However, before we move forward, I do want to take a moment and review a key statement that is mentioned within that short interlude that is very intriguing Rev 10:5-7 Then the angel I had seen standing on the sea and on the land raised his right hand to heaven. 6 And he swore by him who lives for ever and ever, who created the heavens and all that is in them, the earth and all that is in it, and the sea and all that is in it, and said, "There will be no more delay! 7 But in the days when the seventh angel is about to sound his trumpet, the mystery of God will be accomplished, just as he announced to his servants the prophets." This Angel that John is seeing unveils to us a few things: #1) A SURE PROMISE Notice that this Angel is swearing by God in telling the truth And he swore by him who lives for ever and ever, who created the heavens and all that is in them, the earth and all that is in it, and the sea and all that is in it #2) A TIME FRAME Notice that the Angel says, in the days when the seventh angel is about to sound his trumpet. Days is plural. This could mean a couple ofthings. It could mean that the 7 th Trumpet will be sounding for a period of days. Meaning that the duration of the 7 th Trumpet is longer than just a 24 hour time period. It could simply mean that days are pluralized in a general sense because the angel is talking about the end times when the angel is about to sound his trumpet Regardless, something remarkable happens during this time frame.. #3) A MYSTERY ACCOMPLISHED when the seventh angel is about to sound his trumpet, the mystery of God will be accomplished, just as he announced to his servants the prophets." II. 7 th TRUMPET WILL ACCOMPLISH A MYSTERY A. This statement reveals that a mystery will be accomplished in the future when the 7 th Trumpet sounds. B. Thus, the 7 th Trumpet will fulfill a specific Mystery- that was already told by God s prophets and servants in the past. What is the mystery attached to the 7 th Trumpet??? C. Could this 7 th Trumpet be the anticipated 2 nd Coming of Christ as we know it??? Welcome Center. Page 6

7 III. 7 th Trumpet: 2 nd Coming and Rapture May be the Mystery Accomplished A. The best tool to interpret Scripture is Scripture. Therefore, we should look at the whole scope of the Bible to interpret the Bible when it comes to the final 7 th Trumpet and the mystery that will be accomplished as told by the Prophets. B. We already know from the Old Testament that the Prophets foresaw and declared the Great and Dreadful Day of the Lord when all wickedness would be judged, God s people would be vindicated by a Righteous King who would be the Savior of God s people and would rule the nations. As Christians, we know this to be the 2 nd Coming of Christ. C. We also know that John is operating as a Prophet in the book of Revelation. In Revelation, the 7 th Trumpet is the very last Trumpet mentioned in the Bible. The next judgments found in the book of Revelation are the Bowls of Wrath, followed by the Millennium, followed by the Final Judgment and ultimately followed by a New Heaven and New Earth. Thus, the 7 th Trumpet is the last Trumpet mentioned in the book of Revelation as given by the Apostle John. D. Jesus operated his earthly ministry as Priest, Prophet, and King. Obviously, he was God in flesh. However, let s look at what Jesus as Prophet said regarding his 2 nd Coming and the Rapture at the sound of a Loud Trumpet. Matt 24:30-31 "At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory. 31 And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other. We know that the Apostle Paul had operated in the 5 fold gifts (apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor and teacher) Let s Look at what the Apostle Paul says as Prophet about the TRUMPET call of God and the rapture when he writes to the Thessalonians. 1 Thess 4:16-18 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18 Therefore encourage each other with these words. F. Notice what Paul says again in regards to some type of MYSTERY in connection to the LAST TRUMPET in the context of End Times. This time Paul is writing to an entirely different Church- the Corinthians. 1 Cor 15:51-52 Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed 52 in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. G. When you read these New Testament Scriptures side by side, it gives you a broader understanding of the whole picture that may be revealed at the sounding of the 7 th Trumpet if we relate it to the 2 nd Coming of Christ and the Rapture. Jesus and Paul both specifically mention either the sound of a trumpet which Paul clarifies is the Last Trumpet, and John gives no other indication of another Trumpet sounding in the book of Revelation. H. In the New Testament, there are different components when each of these Prophets talk about the End Times in relation to the 2 nd Coming. When you look at all of their perspectives together, it paints a fuller understanding Jesus paints a catastrophic cosmos component to the 2 nd Coming and Rapture. 9 believe as a sign of worship) when Jesus enters into the atmosphere riding on the clouds gathering his church. 2. Paul paints a different component to the 2 nd Coming and Rapture. Paul emphasizes the hope of the saints. The radical transformation that takes place as those who have died in Christ are raised from the dead and the change that will take place. 3. John in Revelation adds another component which emphasizes the governmental transition from the unjust kingdom of this world led by the Beast being strategically overthrown and overtaken by the Kingdom of God. IV. Clarifying RAPTURE A. Although, the idea of the Rapture can be concluded from reading certain Scriptures, the actual term rapture is never used in the Bible. We get the term rapture from the Latin translation from the phrase being caught up specifically from this passage: 1 Thess 4:16-18 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18 Therefore encourage each other with these words. B. Jesus is not trying to hide anything when he returns. It is not a secret event. In fact it is loud. The Trumpet will be sounded, it will be loud, and it will be a call for believers to meet their Lord. When Jesus comes back, we go up. C. Many Christians in our Pre-Tribulation Culture (which believes that the church gets Raptured before the final 7 years of Tribulation) seem to have an innocent unspoken and perhaps may not even be aware of a faulty belief that appears to look more forward to the Rapture rather than the 2 nd Coming. For example, a major question, I get asked all the time is when.. When do you think the Rapture will be? Now there are different views to that subject, however, I want to respond that that is the Wrong Question to be Asking? Welcome Center. Page 9

10 Perhaps its just semantics. But we should not be looking forward to the Rapture for Rapture sake because we just want to leave and get out of here. Rather, we should be looking forward to the 2 nd Coming. The proper question to be asking is When do you think Jesus will come back? Jesus is our Groom. He is our Savior. He is our King of Kings. We are getting caught up to MEET THE LORD!!! We are going to a Person. D. The Rapture is not poof theology. A lot of people think that the Rapture will cause people to Vanish or Disappear. In a nut shell, poof they are gone! E. There have been people caught up or raptured in the Bible. The people who were raptured eventually did leave the earth, but they did not just suddenly poof. Many people who subconsciously believe in the Poof definition of the Rapture usually point out that we will be raptured just like Enoch and Elijah. Let s see how they were raptured. 1. Enoch- By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, "and was not found, because God had taken him" (Heb. 11:5) Nothing is described on how Enoch was taken away. There is not enough Scripture to support a poof theology. nor is there. However, it may be safe to conclude that somebody was there to see God take Enoch- if not, how would people know that his absence was to be with God. In other words, if somebody went missing people do not just automatically assume that God kidnapped them. If somebody just vanished without notification, without any body seeing it, we would throw a search party to find out where he or she went. I believe somebody an eye witness most likely saw Enoch be caught up into the heavens 2. Elijah- Then it happened, as they continued on and talked, that suddenly a chariot of fire appeared with horses of fire, and separated the two of them; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven 12 And Elisha saw it, and he cried out (2 Kings 2:11-12). Elisha saw Elijah being taken up by a whirlwind. Elijah did not Poof disappear and vanish! Welcome Center. Page 10

11 3. Jesus- is the clearest one who has modeled what the rapture will possibly look like. Jesus was raptured after his resurrection. Acts 1:9-11 Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. 10 And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, 11 who also said, "Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven." Notice: his disciples saw him being caught up (He did not poof disappear). Look at the below passage and see the progression of the rapture 1 Thess 4:16-18 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18 Therefore encourage each other with these words. o First we will see the Lord, and hear the voice of the arch angel and the Trumpet sound of God. o Then, the dead in Christ will rise from their graves. They will not look like dead zombies they will have resurrected bodies. o Then, as we are witnessing all of this (The Lord in the sky, the dead believers being raised from their grave) we too will be caught up together. God is not individually rapturing his saints, he is collectively doing because we are being caught up together o At this, all the nations of the earth who have denied Christ, will be mourning (Matt.24:30). 12 F. Finally, I encourage you to study the topic yourself, but it is interesting to note that Never in Church history prior to the late 1800 s did people ever separate the Rapture and the 2 nd Coming into 2 different events (See the Work of George Eldon Ladd, The Blessed Hope). It was always believed that they were one synonymous event. Meaning that when Jesus comes in the sky (which every eye will see) that he will gather his saints. Although Pre- Tribulation Theology is widely accepted, there is no clear evidence in Scripture of Jesus secretly coming back to meet his saints in the sky. Jesus only has one 2 nd Comingand when he comes all will know it. The dead in Christ will be raised from their graves, and those of us who are still alive will be caught up to meet the Lord. The world will see this and mourn deeply. G. Although, I am not 100% convinced on the 7 th Trumpet return of Christ, I am becoming more and more persuaded of it as I study the Scripture. Regardless, the 7 th Trumpet will be very unique because His Kingdom is in transitional motion on coming to earth and the Mystery of his purposes will be accomplished at the 7 th Trumpet which is the last Trumpet. V. 7 th Trumpet Rev 11:15-19 The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said: The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he will reign forever and ever." 16 And the twenty-four elders, who were seated on their thrones before God, fell on their faces and worshiped God, 17 saying: "We give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty, the One who is and who was, because you have taken your great power and have begun to reign. 18 The nations were angry; and your wrath has come. The time has come for judging the dead, and for rewarding your servants the prophets and your saints and those who reverence your name, both small and great and for destroying those who destroy the earth." 19 Then God's temple in heaven was opened, and within his temple was seen the ark of his covenant. And there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, an earthquake and a great hailstorm. Welcome Center. Page 12

13 A. The Heavenly Proclamation there were loud voices in heaven, which said: The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he will reign forever and ever." 1. At the 7 th Trumpet- all of the inhabitants in heaven including the angels and the souls of those who are redeemed lift their voices. The sound is described as being loud. 2. The proclamation is about a transition. A merging together of heaven coming to earth whereby, the Righteous Savior and King will reign the Nations. It s a proclamation of sure hope and Anticipation as the final Trumpet in the book of Revelation sounds. There is an emphasis on the worldly reign of Christ forever. 3. The attitude of heaven about this event is one of praise and thanksgiving as noted by the 24 elders who fall down and worship B. The Reason for Praise "We give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty, the One who is and who was, because you have taken your great power and have begun to reign. 18 The nations were angry; and your wrath has come. The time has come for judging the dead, and for rewarding your servants the prophets and your saints and those who reverence your name, both small and great and for destroying those who destroy the earth." 1. They praise him for who he is (the One who is) 2. They praise him for the inauguration of the beginning of his reign on the earth. (He has taken his great power and have begun to reign) 3. They praise him for the justice that will be expressed in his wrath (which will be the 7 bowls of wrath) being released on those who are angry at Jesus and have committed their alliance to the Beast. Remember the previous plaques were given to push people to repentant before getting the Mark of the Beast. Yet many will not repent and turn to God. Rather, their hatred towards him will intensify. The nations are ANGRY at God 4. They praise him for his justice that will be expressed in judging the dead and for rewarding the saints. a. Judging the dead- in this context it is making a sharp contrast between those who are dead and those who are alive in Christ. Welcome Center. Page 13

14 b. Judging the dead- here does not refer to the final judgment at the end of the millennium where the lake of fire will be the permanent home for those who did not believe. Rather, it means that the wicked who are physically alive on the earth will be judged by being crushed with death. c. On the other hand, God will reward his saints at this time. If the 7 th Trumpet is the 2nd Coming of Christ and the Rapture- that means that the saints will be rewarded with a glorious body. Further implications of being rewarded also has to do with the mere fact of being rescued and not having to deal with the unrighteousness the Global Beast. This may also be where the Lord rewards us for our good works. C. The Remembrance within his temple was seen the ark of his covenant. The temple in Heaven is open. The temple in heaven is the presence of God Proper. Yet, within his temple was seen the ark of his covenant God is still and always will be faithful to his end of the covenant. D. The Transition And there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, an earthquake and a great hailstorm. a. This is a bright (flashes of lightning) and extremely loud (rumblings and peals of thunder) GRAND ENTRANCE. b. If the 7 th Trumpet is the 2 nd Coming of Christ then that means history will be permanently shifted as it was during his first coming. c. If the 7 th Trumpet is the 2 nd Coming of Christ, to set up his rule on the earth, it is transition time. What follows is flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, with hail and an earthquake will be the sounding of Jesus coming with all the angels in heaven and redeemed saints coming back to the earth to set up his earthly reign. Jesus grand entry back to the earth that he created will be one of intense wrath against the Beast and his followers which he will pour out without any hesitation on his enemies in order to defend and vindicate his beloved saints, solidify his name as King of Kings and united heaven and earth. d. Next session, we will cover the Bowls of Wrath that Jesus brings to completely destroy the Beast and the enemies of God while vindicating his beloved saints. Welcome Center. Page 14

15 Trumpets 1-7 (Review) Trumpets will destroy or severely weaken the Anti-Christ s Resources. Trumpet#1 1/3 Food Supply Shortage Hail and fire co-mingled with blood strikes the earth. This burns up all the green grass and destroys 1/3 of agricultural production. This will affect barley, grains, and also the animal kingdom who feed from the land. Thus, our meat sources will also be affected from this plaque. First 4 Trumpets are grouped together! Trumpet #2 1/3 Sea Life and Sea Trade Destroyed Something like a Burning Mountain is thrown into the sea. This causes 1/3 of the sea to turn into sluggish blood. This kills 1/3 of sea life including SEA FOOD, and destroys 1/3 of ships which will slow down imported and exported trade and weaken the Beast s Military Naval Department. Trumpet#3 1/3 Contaminated Drinking Water Great Star/Asteroid falls to the earth and strategically poisons 1/3 of the springs of water. Many people die who drink these waters. Trumpet #4-1/3 Energy Crises 1/3 of the sun, stars, and moon will be darkened. This will totally weaken the energy source in which the Anti-Christ s Empire operates from. All electronics, and forms of energy including solar energy will be destroyed. 5 th and 6 th Trumpet grouped together! 7 th Trumpet Stands Alone! Trumpet #5 Psychological Trauma (Demonic Torment) For 5 months the Lord will lift his restraining hand and allow unbelievers to be demonically tormented by locust looking demons that are released from hell. Trumpet #6-1/3 Demonic Murder God will release a demonic army of 200 million to kill people. This could be literal demons or could be symbolic language being used that represent demons operating through a literal army. Trumpet #7 Mystery Accomplished A mystery is accomplished, which possibly could be 2 nd Coming Welcome Center. Page 15
