3 PASTOR-LEE THOUGHTS Can you believe it? It's already 2018! It seems like time has flown by. In thinking of the new year, we can all believe that God has great things in store for us here at Henderson Presbyterian Church. Some of these things will be surprises for us some will not. Individually, we have the opportunity, not only because of this being the first of the year, but, because of the continual grace of God, we can start over in our personal lives regarding our relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. In Paul's Epistle to the Galatians, he wrote the following: I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me. (Galatians 2:19-20 NRSV) May we all think about this verse and give thanks to God that Christ does live within each one of us. The month of January gives us a new start here at our church and in our lives. At HPC we have a number of new Deacons and Ruling Elders that will be ordained and/or installed on the 14 th of this month (Thanks to the Nominating Committee for their hard work last fall). It will be an exciting day for our church family. I so appreciate the commitment of the women and men to take on the responsibilities of church leadership. After the church service on January 21 st we will have our Annual Congregational Meeting. We will be informed as to what the budget will be for the year as well as given a variety of reports as to what has occurred in our church during I look forward to seeing all of you at church on the 21 st!!! I want to say my thanks to all that have stepped up to the plate during the month of December while I had my surgery and recuperation period. I appreciate the support of our Parish Associate Hilda Pecoraro, Pastor Mariano (Nonong) Ordonez of the First Filipino-American Church of Southern Nevada, the Rev. Joe Fontana, and, of course, all the wonderful people at HPC that have taken on more responsibilities throughout the month. Thank you so much for your support! May God s blessings be on all of you in 2018! Grace and Peace, Pastor Lee ANNUAL CONGREGATIONAL MEETING ON JANUARY 21, 2018 The Annual Congregational Meeting will be held immediately after the Worship Service on January 21 st. The 2018 General Budget will be presented as well as the reports from the various committees and groups of our church, and the Pastor s Terms of Call will be discussed and voted on.
