1 An adventure in God s Word for your Family Scripture Adventures Easter Lapbook Use the patterns on the next few pages to create an Easter lapbook and learn more about Jesus. You will need a file folder, markers and crayons, scissors, glue, and a printer! Have fun! Get ready to celebrate Easter! Scripture Adventures Copy for non-commercial use only.

2 This is the cover for your lapbook. Color the dove and the scripture box and cut them out. Tape them to the front of a file folder. The following pages are for the middle of your lapbook. Color, cut out, and complete each project before taping it into your file folder so that you are sure to save space for everything! Celebrate Easter Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations. You are witnesses of these things. 3 Below is an example of how to assemble your Easter flip book directions page 4. This is a space for your Easter Story Booklet (see pages following) Make your booklet and tape it into your lapbook here. If you don t have An Easter Adventure, substitute a drawing of a scene from Jesus life. Jesus Birth Ministry Atonement Death on Cross Resurrection For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 By: The Easter Story Color and cut out the John 3:16 scripture box. Tape it into your lapbook on the left hand page, just as it is laid out on this page. Color the Easter Lily and cut it out. Use it with the strips on the last two pages to create a flip-book of events in Jesus life. 4 Color and cut out the picture of Jesus Last Supper. Tape the top edge only into your lapbook on the right hand page. This will allow the picture to flip-up. Underneath the picture, tape your Memory Verse Eggs (see directions on pages following). Jesus Has Risen! I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. John 11:25-26 Color and cut out these pictures of events in Jesus life. Tape them in your lapbook under the picture of the Last Supper. Jesus preached and prayed. He died and was buried. 5 Easter Memory Verses Color, cut out, and tape the label on the left to a resealable sandwich bag. Create a set of Easter Memory Verse Eggs (from back of An Easter Adventure ). Store them in the ziplock bag. Tape the bag in your Easter lapbook under the picture of Jesus Last Supper. Cut out the other strips and stack them on top of each other from shortest to longest. On each strip, write some sentences that describe that event in Jesus life. Tape the strips into your lapbook on the left hand page, with the Easter Lily on top to make a flip-book. 7 EASTER STORY BOOKLET You can make this easy booklet to share the Easter story with your friends. 1. Just color and cut out the booklet pages. 2. From construction paper, cut a cover and a back slightly larger than the booklet pages. Write The Easter Story and your name on the cover. 3. 8 Jesus was God s son. He was born in Bethlehem. His mother was Mary. For God so loved the world that he sent his only Begotten Son Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist in the Jordan River. Then he began his ministry. John had the authority to baptize. An Easter Adventure, Page 77

9 Jesus taught people about God. He taught them to have faith, repent, and be baptized. He loved the little children. Jesus went to Jerusalem to celebrate the Passover. He rode a donkey. The people waved palm branches and shouted, Hosanna! An Easter Adventure, Page 78

10 Jesus had Passover dinner with his disciples. He taught them to serve and love each other. The Jewish leaders didn t like Jesus. They didn t think he was God s son. They wanted to kill him! Love each other as I have loved you. An Easter Adventure, Page 79

11 Jesus went to the Garden of Gethsemane to pray. Jesus told God that he would do God s will. He would die for our sins! Jesus was arrested by soldiers. The Jewish leaders held a trial. They decided that Jesus would die. They asked the Roman governor to crucify Jesus. An Easter Adventure, Page 80

12 Jesus was taken to a hill and crucified between two thieves. Jesus died and was buried in a tomb. The Roman soldiers guarded the tomb. On the third day, angels came and rolled the stone away! They said Jesus was alive again! An Easter Adventure, Page 81

13 Jesus appeared to many people. He told his disciples to teach people about his life. He invited everyone to follow his commandments. Easter is a time to celebrate Jesus life. He died to set us free from sin and death! He brought life and salvation to the world! Whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. An Easter Adventure, Page 82

14 MEMORY VERSE EGGS AND SCRIPTURE ACTIVITIES Color and cut out the Easter eggs on the next two pages. You can include a set of Memory Verse Eggs in your Easter Piñata or use them for a game with your family just take turns choosing an egg, reading the Memory Verse reference on the back and reciting the verse! You can also have a scripture chase by calling out a reference and racing to see who can find it first in the Bible!
