In talking with several of you, we found that many do not use the Annual Record of Giving that is sent each January showing your list of donations for the previous year. Because this is a costly and time-consuming process, we have decided not to automatically mail out the records. But realizing that there are some who would like to receive theirs, individual copies are available to anyone who wishes to receive theirs. THE LAMB OF GOD "Behold the Lamb of God!" We hear this phrase every Sunday at Mass, but there's a good chance that many Roman Catholics do not know who in the Bible originally spoke it. The phrase appears only in the Gospel of John, on the lips of John the Baptist, who utters it twice. In today's Gospel reading, John proclaims Jesus as the Lamb of God, and two of John's own disciples then follow Christ. A little bit later Andrew, who heard John and then followed Jesus, brings his brother Simon to be re-named Cephas, or Peter. A careful look at these Bible verses shows us the mission of everyone baptized into the Body of Christ: we must always proclaim our faith in Christ, so that others will follow him. We may not know how the will of God might work through those we bring to Christ; that is not the point. Martha Parish on North Hill. Because of health reasons, he and his family moved to Phoenix over 20 years ago. I enjoy being with them each year at this time much better in January than in August!

One of my very few pet peeves is that the media in referring to this minister committed to following the Way of Jesus Christ, hardly ever mentions the title Reverend in his name.

This is one of his quotes that we can all reflect upon: "I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word in reality.

However, we are still in need of centering our lives and relationships in Jesus Christ as the foundation for racial understanding, healing, and reconciliation.

Each year at this time I vacation in Phoenix, Arizona with Phil and Cindy LoCascio, whom I have known for 33 years. Phil became a deacon while I was serving as pastor at St. Martha Parish on North Hill. Because of health reasons, he and his family moved to Phoenix over 20 years ago. I enjoy being with them each year at this time much better in January than in August! Phil and Cindy are active in a parish in Fountain Hills, a suburb of Phoenix. This weekend leads into Monday, a federal holiday honoring the life and ministry of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. One of my very few pet peeves is that the media in referring to this minister committed to following the Way of Jesus Christ, hardly ever mentions the title Reverend in his name. From the very beginning he saw himself as a pastor, dedicated to bringing our various races and cultures together. He was centered in a deep faith in God. This is why right, temporarily defeated, is stronger than evil triumphant." It has been 50 years since he was assassinated. Much positive has occurred. However, we are still in need of centering our lives and relationships in Jesus Christ as the foundation for racial understanding, healing, and reconciliation.
