Calvary Chapel Cary Wmen s Ministry is dedicated t helping wmen grw in their relatinship with and cmmitment t the Lrd, resulting in a better understanding f their rle as Christian wmen and a clser walk with Jesus Christ. As wmen, we are able t listen t what the Lrd has t say specifically t us and t grw deeper in intimacy with Him in the prcess. We hpe yu find it very helpful! With Lve, Ms. Elvira WOMEN S MINISTRY FELLOWSHIP The Wmen s Ministry hsts several fellwship events thrughut the year. Frm prper tea parties t whacky game nights, there are fun pprtunities fr wmen t meet tgether, laugh and even learn a few things! Here are just sme f the events we typically hst: Ladies Summer Nights During ur summer break between Bible Study sessins, we hst 3 4 Mnday evening events (1-2 per mnth during June, July and August). Each Summer Nights event is themed, and culd include a game night, health and beauty night, r talent shw. Girl, Yu Gt Issues (GYGI) This is a mini- retreat ffered biannually t address tpics specific t the varius seasns in the lives f wmen, including friendship, marriage, service, etc. This at- hme retreat includes teaching frm Ms. Elvira, breakut sessins and testimnials. Christmas Tea Fine china, fabulus fancy finger fds and divine tea makes fr a wnderful time tgether. Special Events Thrughut the year, the Wmen s Ministry hsts a variety f fun and inspiring events, including special cncerts, craft fairs, shpping excursins and mre!

3 RETREATS Each Winter we take an pprtunity t get away tgether t deepen ur relatinship with the Lrd, be inspired, and strengthen ur bnd t each ther. We either g ut f twn t a retreat center, r we stay in twn, meeting at the church fr meals, fellwship, teaching and lts f fun! When we meet tgether at an ff- site retreat center, we are blessed t have Calvary Chapel pastrs wives jin us t share persnal and impactful teaching frm Gd s Wrd. This is always a very special time f bnding, as we are withut the nrmal distractins f wrk, family and t- d lists. When the retreat is mre f the stay- at- hme type, we meet Friday evening and all day Saturday at the church t enjy slid teaching, skits and fellwship nt t mentin delicius fd! It s a great lcal getaway pprtunity, and sme wmen even chse t stay at a lcal htel t maintain that true retreat feel! VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES Many different pprtunities are available within Wmen s Ministry. Based upn yur Gd- given gifts and abilities, yu can be a huge blessing t the ministry. The retreats and fellwship events require many hands t make the wrk light, and there are als nging pprtunities during Bible Study. Mrever, the Wmen s Ministry plays a vital rle in cming alngside the thriving Men s Ministry and ther church- and cmmunity- wide events, s help is truly needed thrughut the year. WOMEN S BIBLE STUDY The fundatin f everything we d at Calvary Chapel Cary is the Wrd f Gd. The Bible is Gd s lve letter t His peple, it is the Truth, and it is the Swrd f the Spirit t thwart the attacks f the enemy. It is vital that we cme tgether t study Gd s Wrd as wmen, able t listen t what the Lrd has t say specifically t us, and t grw deeper in intimacy with Him in the prcess. Elvira Finch (Pastr Rdney s wife) guides us thrugh, verse by verse, in a prcess that allws each wman t discver fr herself what Gd has fr her life. Our prayer is that these studies will be a blessing t yu. 4 The Fall sessin typically begins mid- September and ceases fr the Hlidays abut mid- Nvember. We pick up again in January fr the Spring sessin, which finishes by the end f May. All sessins meet in the Yuth Ministry Building at Calvary Chapel Cary. Small Grup Reminders 1 Peter 1:22 says, Nw that yu have purified yurselves by beying the truth s that yu have sincere lve fr yur brthers, lve ne anther deeply frm the heart. Lving ne anther is the key t a fruitful small grup discussin. Please keep the fcus f the grup discussin n the verses we are studying. We want all ur cnversatins t glrify Gd and edify ne anther. Be sure t mnitr hw much talking yu d t be sure thers have a turn t cntribute t the discussin as well. Never gssip abut anyne especially under the guise f a prayer request. Prblems shared within the grup shuld be kept cnfidential and nt spread utside the grup. There may be wmen frm ther churches in the grup; be sure t be sensitive t this fact during discussins. Grup leaders will cllect prayer requests amng the grup. Please pray fr yur sisters in Christ thrughut the week. 5 Study Apprach Yur Bible Is a Mine, Nt a Museum The mre we wnder ver the Bible, the mre wnder-full we discver it is. That s why we must think f the Bible mre as a mine than a museum. fr mst peple, a museum visit prvides mainly a superficial understanding f histry, science, technlgy, art, athletics, r whatever else. Even if they enlist a tur guide, the increased understanding is still relatively mdest, as understanding ges. The amunt f time spent at each exhibit is limited. Mst visitrs view a display fr a shrt time and fr the mst part are cntent taking what they see and read at face value. Repeat visits help. Regular museum visitrs can becme quite familiar with exhibits and even be able t cnverse fairly intelligently abut the displays. T thse less familiar with the subjects, veteran museumgers might seem t be lay experts in the field. They may even cnsider themselves t be such. And yet, really, the knwledge base remains fr the mst part superficial. Mines Are Enriching Miners bserve and gather with a different mindset than a museumger. T miners, the knwledge they acquire is nt merely interesting; it s vital. They aren t merely enhancing their educatin; they are hunting fr treasure. When they seek ut expert knwledge, it is fr a fcused reasn: Such knwledge leads t frtune. Miners are trying t unearth wealth. They dig. They prbe. They pke arund. They pick up rcks and turn them ver, lking intently. Mining isn t a leisurely afternn s recreatin. Mining is a diligent, persistent, and even tedius examinatin. Hurs are spent carefully cmbing thrugh a small area, because if lking is nt dne carefully, a gem might be missed. Treasures fr Thse Wh Dig The Bible is as fascinating as the best museum. There is a lt t glean frm it at face value. But it is enriching as a mine. Begin t dig, pke arund, and examine, and it yields wnderful things that yu didn t ntice at first. If we read Bible stries like museum exhibits, always viewing them fairly quickly and then mving t the next display, ur grasp tends t remain rather superficial. We might think that we ve seen pretty much all that there is t see. But when we really start sifting thrugh them when we mine them we find that these stries are laced with treasures. We see that there is mre than initially meets the eye. Find a quiet place t read yur Bible. Have yur study ntes, resurces, etc., handy. Pray befre yu begin yur study, asking Gd t pen His Wrd t yu. Have that day s study questins in mind as yu read ver the chapter/verses fr the week.
