Just one person maybe your next-door neighbor, the person who does your hair, or maybe someone with whom you play tennis, golf or pickle ball. Ask he/she if they have ever been to a Catholic Mass and tell them that you would love for them to just Come and See what the Mass is all about. Tell them to meet you out in front of the doors of the Church and you will sit with them. Then after Mass thank them for coming and ask them if they have any questions. Answer the questions you are able to answer and for those who want more information, feel free to tell them to contact me at ls@saintpaulseneca.org or Your friend may not be at the point of joining the Catholic Church, but the first phase of the Rite of Christian Initiation (RCIA) is Inquiry: simply finding out more about the Church. Continue to pray for your friends and know that your personal invitation is the most effective way to bring others to share in Christ s love. THIS IS WHAT EVANGELIZATION LOOKS LIKE Under the "full of faith" leadership of parishioners Jose Cabrera and Annie Olney (co-chairs of the event) volunteers from Saint Paul and Saint Francis greeted hundreds of people at the Westminster Apple Festival on Friday September 8th and Saturday September 9th. With great love and freely giving away smiles, materials and cold water, they invited the community to find out more about the Catholic Church and to come and join us to worship. We also met many Floridian neighbors visiting the Upstate seeking shelter from Hurricane Irma and planning to join us for Mass while they are here. Keep them in your prayers. ADULT FAITH FORMATION (AFF) Kim Baker, Director of Faith Formation / KB@saintpaulseneca.org NEW! Bilingual Sunday morning class for adults, reviewing the basics of our Catholic faith. Led by Deacon Randy Sexton. No registration required. Join us from 11:15 am to 12:15 pm in Papineau Hall. Coffee, catechism, and great fellowship. All adults welcome! VOLUNTEERS NEEDED Foothills Alliance of Anderson and Oconee County is in dire need of volunteers. Our non-profit organization provides direct services to victims of sexual assault and other severe trauma. We need caring adults to answer crisis calls and make contacts with victims in the emergency rooms after business hours. We train our volunteers and provide staff support when they are on call. Most volunteers serve 2 to 3 days a month. Other volunteer needs are for handyman services, babysitting in our waiting room, event staff and gardening. STITCHING FRIENDS/COMMUNITY QUILTERS Stitching Friends/Community Quilters, meets on the fourth Monday of the month. Our next meeting, Monday, September 25, 10 am. to 2:30 pm.
