The Lewisville UMW was proud to present Rita Smith with the UMW Mission Pin at the 11:00 service on March 6th. Rita exemplifies the United Methodist Woman in mission at the local and community level. She has been in the choir for many years, helps June with the children's time at the 11:00 service, trains, schedules and works with the youth in the acolyte program, and has spent and continues to spend many hours working with the LCAP program. 5 LUMC Church Family, I d like to let you know about an amazing opportunity God has given me for this summer. I ve been selected to be part of the GoNow Initiative at The Summit Church, which I attend in Raleigh when I am at NC State. As a part of this initiative, I ll be spending the summer doing City Project where I ll have the opportunity to serve the church and global mission of God. I hope to spend two months being immersed in the local church and cities around the globe. I will travel to New York City for one week to engage Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs, and Buddhists with the gospel. The culmination of this trip will be in Mumbai, India where I will have an opportunity to reach the unreached for Christ. The dates of this project are May 24-July 22. The total cost is $4900. The altar will be stripped at the close of the service for Good Friday. (In case of rain, the Sunrise Service will be held at Lewisville Baptist Church.) 8:30 am New Beginning Service (Easter Celebration), Fellowship Hall 9:45 am Sunday School 11:00 am Easter Celebration Worship, Sanctuary LEWISVILLE IS A STEPHEN MINISTRY CHURCH. Stephen Ministers are trained lay care-givers who provide emotional and spiritual care to persons who are experiencing difficulties in their lives hospitalization, loss of a loved one, loss of job, or any other crisis situation. This is care in addition to the care the pastor gives. If you are interested in having a Stephen Minister, fill out one of the slips in the pew rack and put it in the offering plate or hand it to the minister or one of the Stephen Leaders or Tom Lee. LIVING CROSS: Please bring a fresh flower, blossom, or bud on Easter morning to put on the ivy-covered crosses that will be placed outside at both entrances to the church.

We were so overwhelmed by the culinary talent & yumminess that we are bringing back the cook-off as our Catalyst Spring Fundraiser. The plan is to host a Chili Cook-Off, Cornbread Bake-Off and Dessert Competition. If you stir up a mean batch of chili, we need your name! Are you well known for your dessert creations?
