3 Reflections from Ola (lead pastor) When love comes to town, everything changes. When love chooses to reside in our neighbourhood, people leap for joy. Such is the story, John the beloved follower of Jesus and a fisherman tells in his reflective accounts of the life of Jesus -- the people he touched and the places tread. A story of love so profound yet deeply vulnerable. A love story of grace and truth, yet rhythmed as in a broken hallelujah (praise). John s narrative gives us a fresh imaginative reflection of how divine love takes on the brokenness of our humanity in a redemptive saga. John uses fresh stories not told in other accounts of Jesus to points us to Jesus the divine love that never jilts, the pure love that transforms. John invites us to see Jesus as the perfection of divinity and humanity Christ the Son of God in the flesh. John desires that people will come to know divine love. He desires that his hearers and readers will enjoy their love relationship with the triune God who has made himself known in Jesus. This is a story that confounds the mind, challenges our imagination and yet compel our heart to love. A story that leaves us wondering -- What is it about Jesus that is so refreshing and compelling that changes people s mind and ultimately transforms their lives? 10 Bob the clown to meet, jumping castles to explore, friends from afar to catch up with, visitors going to Bethlehem... YES it was a lot of FUN!

11 Christmas with friends Christmas Eve saw about 30 friends gather together at the Pearsons for a celebration of God's gift to us in Jesus. The food was amazing and people lingered over lunch and continued enjoying good company into dinner. It was great to meet each other's friends, many of whom we have been praying for, and see them enfolded into community. One friend commented that being included in Breathe's circle was really significant at a rough time in his life. Another friend felt loved and included. Whilst for others who often struggle at Christmas time they were able to come and join in a relaxed celebration without judgment. We re looking forward to continuing to journey with these friends in 2017.

12 Christmas puddings for the homeless The Breathe community wanted a way to bless our friends on the street with a gift at Christmas. It was to be a gift that spoke of the richness of God's love for us, the most generous gift of his Son, and of how precious he sees each person that he would send a gift of love across the universe for them. Of course no gift could ever package all of that! But they decided on giving a Christmas pudding to each person the Vinnies Van had contact with at Christmas to symbolise some of these things. So Breathe gathered a heap of puddings (this is just some of what was collected) and the Christmas night team took them out to gift to those doing it tough that day. We pray they were blessed and somehow the gift pointed them to the most wonderful gift and the Gift Giver. Future directions Breathe is currently praying through future directions, including where God is leading us to situate our Sunday gatherings into the future.
