Thumma is an Asian Indian, 69 years young, and has served as a priest for 41 years, having been ordained to the priesthood on June 29, His ancestors were Hindus. His family converted to Catholic Christianity 120 years ago. Fr. Thumma has worked and ministered in the mission parishes, as Director of Social Service.
