1 Spoken Word no. 61 He is Here to Confirm His Promises Brian Kocourek Ephesians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath (past tense) blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: 4 According as he hath (past tense) chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him (that means in His Presence), in love:5 Having (past tense) predestinated (past tense) us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself,(that is where it is all focused on right there) according to the good pleasure of his will, 6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath (past tense) made us accepted (past tense) in the beloved. 7 In whom we have (Now, notice this is present tense, we have) redemption through his blood, (we have) the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; 8 Wherein he hath (past tense) abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence; 9 Having (past tense) made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath (past tense) purposed in himself: 10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together (so Who will do the gathering? He will. How does he do it? He comes down with a Message.) in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:11 In whom also we have (present tense) obtained (past tense) an inheritance,(now why present tense have and past tense obtained? Because what God planted or sowed before the foundations of the world is what we are now in the process of obtaining or securing for ourselves.) Being predestinated (past tense) according to the purpose of him who worketh (present tense, so it is he that is working) all things after the counsel of his own will: So we see it all has to do with His will not ours. Now then, notice that all the promises of God have already past tense been given to us. But he is here now, present tense working in us something for the purpose of obtaining what He has already promised. Therefore, Why did He, God, came down in this hour? Because the One who gave us the promise is here to confirm those promise to us. From his sermon, Presence of God unrecognized P:1 Brother Branham said, working for this one purpose, for you to recognize the Presence of Jesus Christ. See? If He is present, then, why, everything is settled. He made the Word. He is here to confirm It. He proves that He'll confirm It. "He is just the same yesterday, today, and forever.". He's God. And if we would just recognize that, take a-hold of it... So we see that the one purpose of he Message if we can say there is one purpose, and we must say there is one purpose because Brother Branham said he was working for one purpose, and that is for you to recognize who is here, because if you do then you will recognize that God is here to confirm what He has promised for this hour. working for this one purpose, for you to recognize the Presence of Jesus Christ. See? If He is present, then, why, everything is settled. He made the Word. He is here to confirm it. 1

2 Then when we read from Ephesians chapter 1 we can see that predestination, and more specifically, our own predestination comes forth from God's own purpose. "being predestinated according to the purpose of him". God's own purpose in which He worketh all things after the counsel of his own will". And this word worketh is the Greek word energeo or the energy of God. It means to show forth (one's) self. And therefore, is the expression of the one Who is doing the work. It is an effectual fervent effort on behalf of the one it is directed towards. It is for your benefit and mine as we see in I Corinthians 12:6 And there are diversities of operations, energema or energes, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. And what is the purpose behind the energies of God being utilized for you and me? Paul tells us in verse 7. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. So it is for our profit that God has come down in this hour. He did not do this for Himself but for us, that He might gather us and make us ready for the adoption of sons. In GALATIANS 5:6 Paul said, faith which worketh by love. And again this word worketh is the Greek word energeo and it is by this that we see that Faith, which is revelation, is energized by love. Notice Paul tells us that our Faith worketh by Love. The word for worketh was translated from the Greek word energeo and it means to energize. Our Faith is energized by Love, Paul says. I THESSALONIANS 2:13 For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received [it] not [as] the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh (effectually is energized) also in you that believe. WISDOM VERSUS FAITH The disciples had It sowed into them, then the Spirit come to energize the Word. See? "Not by power, not by might, not by wisdom, not by understanding, not by this, not by that, but by My Spirit I will energize My Word. By My Spirit, says the Lord." It's the water of the Word of faith that energizes the Word of God and makes It work, Now, last week we spoke on how to sow the word into good ground, and then water it, and I want to show you this week how that word is energized just as when we sow a seed into the ground and water it, the sun warms the ground the seed has been sown in and energizes the life that is in the seed. Hear ye Him P:68 That's the reason He could smile here. Jesus had carried out every Word of it. That's it. He'd carried out just exactly to the Word, now, because He was that perfect Son. And He is the same, and He died to become the Vine, that we might become the branch, that He can energize us with His Life to make the same Life that He had, living in us. Then we'll do the same thing. Jesus said in Saint John 14:12, "He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also." Door to the heart P:49 He's the vine. He has no lips but ours, no eyes but ours to operate here on earth. His Holy Spirit is here to energize His branches to do the same work. 2

3 Jesus Christ the same P:30 Saint John 15, He said, "I am the Vine; ye are the branches." He said that about His Church. He'd go away and be the Vine and we'd be the branch. Now, the vine does not bear fruit. The vine always energize the branch, and the branch bears fruit. That's right. Notice, if the vine cannot bear fruit, it's depending on its branches. And the branch cannot bear fruit until it's energized by the vine. Then if you people out here seen a pumpkin vine, that pumpkin vine would bear pumpkins, if the life of pumpkins is in the vine. If it's a watermelon vine, it'll bear watermelons, if it's got watermelon life in it. If it's a grape vine, it'll bear grapes, because the life of grapes is in the vine, and it'll energize the branches and they'll bear grapes. Jesus Christ the same P:53 Lord God, I'm just so thankful to have the opportunity to say to hundreds of believers here tonight, that Your great presence has never left us. You're still the Spirit that moves through our bodies, and performs Your works, and the church is moving on. I pray, God, tonight, that You'll energize every person here with Your presence; that You will come into our midst Lord Jesus, and do that, just what You did before Your death, burial, and resurrection. Faith P:94 Jesus said, "These things that I do, shall you also." Then is God's sworn covenant true. Is His sworn covenant true? Then what we got to be worried about? Jesus is here. His Spirit is here. We're in a... What happened just now? I went into another world. It's an unseen world. We become so conscious of looking at one another like this. But there's a unseen world; and you it's greater than anything...?... And here's Christ. In this world, in this building here are evil spirits and war. And Christians anointed, and the Angels of God encamped about them trying to energize them with faith. And here I am standing here just yielding myself, and the Holy Spirit's a moving, and this is what you call heavenly places in Christ Jesus. But remember, Satan always...?... at the sons of God. You know, he always does that. Someone with a skeptic idea, when they do that, just he's trying to interfere. But Christians always overcome. Arrow of God's deliverance P:19 Why, the reason Moses failed in the first place... Here's what was the matter. It was the lack of having what the burning bush had. That's right. And what's our failure today, is lack having what the Holy Spirit has. And the Holy Spirit has all good things for us. And if we receive the Holy Spirit, then all things are possible; and not only possible, but promised to us. Jesus said, "Ask the Father anything in My Name, I'll do it. If ye abide in me and My word's in you, ask what you will, it'll be given to you." See? When we step into the Light of God's Word, with the unction of the Holy Spirit to shine the Light on It, brother, the impossible becomes little things then. God asks us to believe His Word. He sends the Holy Spirit to energize that Word when He falls into It. When the Word's being preached and the Holy Spirit brings the Word, He energizes that and flashes the same Light of God's blessed promise. God said, "I have remembered My promise to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and I'm sending you down there to do it." See? Then when God's Word, His promise becomes enlightened by the Presence of the Angel of the Lord, stop Moses now; he's on his road. And God always keeps His promise. 3

4 Fundamental foundation for faith P:56 Oh, we pray, Father, that You'll energize us tonight with Your holy Presence and send forth Thy Son, the Lord Jesus that gave this promise, that the world wouldn't see Him no more, yet we should see Him, for He'd be with us, even in us to the end of the world, and believe Him tonight. By these... This lovely audience of people sets here in the room, believing that the Lord Jesus Himself is standing near, knowing that not even a sparrow could fall to the street without Him knowing that. Knowing that He's here to perform it, that which He has promised; therefore, Father, I commit myself to You as an unworthy vessel, this frail being of mine, Lord. I pray that You'll open every valve of my being tonight, not only mine, but every person that's in this building tonight. May their hearts spring open. May the Holy Spirit rush in like wave after wave of His glory. And may the people awaken to the fact that Jesus has raised from the dead and is standing here among us tonight. Fundamental foundation for faith P:54 Many of you ministers here, you wouldn't want to say that you just spit out a sermon and stood, popped it off. You'd want to say it come from inspiration. I believe it. Certainly. Well, it has to come from the Holy Spirit that energizes you to speak that message. If it isn't, you'll never be successful. This is Charles Finney, and so forth, and man who copied their sermons out and when he got up there and preached with the inspiration, the Holy Ghost... The same sermon he preached the night before, hundreds brought to the altar. See? There's such a difference. It's got to be by inspired. The Holy Spirit's got to unctionize in that thing. So is it with healing. There's got to be something take place through a Divine gift that'll energize the people with the Holy Spirit to believe. Going beyond the camp E P:43 Now, we find out that He dwelt then among His prophets. He then became a Stranger to them, for He dwells only in His Word to confirm It. The Bible said that He watches over His Word to confirm It. He's trying to find someone... If He can just get a halfhearted man like Samson... Samson surrendered his strength to God, but he gave his heart to Delilah. That's the way that many times we do today: just give something to God, but not all. But God wants all of us. Perseverant P:78 Come, Lord, and a-vindicate this, that I've told the truth. You are the same yesterday, today, and forever. You are the Word. You was the Word that was in Noah. You're the Word that was in Moses. You was the Word that was in Elijah. You was the Word that was in David. You are the Word made flesh and is among us tonight. You're here to vindicate every promise that You made for this hour. "As it was in the days of Sodom," all these promises that You made, You're here to confirm it. Grant it, tonight, Father. We'll watch to see You here. And then may the church reach up by faith and take a-hold, and say, "I'm perseverant, Lord. I'll stay here like the unjust judge that the widow had a-hold of." And if that unjust judge, to get rid of the woman, gave her her desire, how much more will the heavenly Father give those that He's expecting to hold to Him tonight? Grant it, in Jesus' Name, we pray. Amen. The Lord be blessed. 4

5 So you see it is by the knowledge of Him that we are given Life to live out the very nature of the Father and in fact are given access to the father as well. And so we can see how the word transforms the individual from a lifeless zombie like creature with no hope of any future to one that is moved and motivated by the very nature of God Himself in their own being. ACTS 17:28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring. And that tells you that because you are His Seed or His Offspring you therefore live and move. For he is he one that energizes you. ROMANS 7:5 For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work (the Greek word is energeo or energize) in our members to bring forth fruit unto death. 6 But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not [in] the oldness of the letter. Now, this word work here was translated from the Greek word energeo which is energy. The fact is that unless God place His Own Word into our souls, we will remain lifeless and without hope. Thus then the Word is an energy that feeds our soul with strength and Life itself. I THESSALONIANS 2:13 For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received [it] not [as] the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe. CONTENDING FOR THE FAITH He is the same Lord Jesus. You notice in His ministry, He only raised three from the dead in His ministry here on earth. He raised up Jairus' daughter, and the woman's son that was buried, and Lazarus. Three is a confirmation. He could've done more, if the Father would've showed Him. Now, let us be reverent, and let us take the right attitude towards the Lord Jesus. For be it assured that your attitude towards any Divine gift will determine what results you get from it. JAMES 5:16 Confess [your] faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual (energized) fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. And what then energizes your prayer for one another? Love is the energeo of God. And it is by Love that your prayers are energized with the power of God behind them,. EXPECTATION I just want to talk to the lady just a moment. And then, that's going to be up to you, whatever you think about it. Now, you'll have to know it's supernatural. I'm sad to say; some of you don't believe it, but it's so anyhow. See? Now, you can't hide yourself now. See? He's done anointed me now. See? But that's right. But you'll see then it's your attitude towards It will determine your destination. That's right. EPHESIANS 3:20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, energeo en-erg-eh'-o to display one's activity, -- effectually work (1) -- effectual fervent (1) -- work effectually in ROMANS 7:5 For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death. 5

6 I CORINTHIANS 12:6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. GALATIANS 5:6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love. EPHESIANS 1:11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: From WHO IS THIS MELCHISEDEC 70 brother Branham said, " See, that throws your body subject. You don't have to say, "Oh, if I could just quit drinking, if I could just..." Just get in Christ; it's all gone. See, see? Because your body is subject to the Spirit, it's no more subject to the things of the world; they're dead. They are dead; your sins are buried in baptism; and you are a new creation in Christ. And your body becoming subject to the Spirit, try to live a right kind of life... Now, last week we spoke on knowing the Will of God for our lives, by Seeing and recognizing His Will in His Word. And when we pray once knowing and understanding the Will of God for us, then our prayers become energized. There has to be certain energies behind our prayer, and we know according to 1 Thessalonians 1 that the thing that energizes our prayer and our faith is Love. There's nothing like Love to build up energy within a young man or woman. Just look at what it will do for them. They could be as lazy and as discourteous as you had ever met, but let them fall in love and they begin to do things they never even thought they would do. They'll clean themselves up, they'll exercise to lose the fat, and they will even tone their body to look better. If the one they are in love with goes to church and they've never gone to church before, they will start going to church with their girlfriend of boyfriend. That's how the Lord got a hold of brother Branham, was through Hope, his girlfriend and eventual wife. God had spoken to him several times before, through visions, and even face to face through the whirlwind in the tree, but did that get his attention? Not as much as when he tried to impress his girl. Men who didn t care less what their hair looked liked like before will begin to cut it and wash it, and groom it, and even take the time to brush their teeth, and comb their hair, and they will buy new products like breath mints and you name it, trying new things to make their appearance better. Let the love bug bite and those energies build, and build and build, and begin to put into action that old dead weight. So we see that Love is a great energy force and in 1 Corinthians 13:13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these [is] charity. Paul says here that when it is all said and done there remains three things, faith which is a revelation, hope which is an earnest expectation, and Love which is an outward expression of that revelation and expectation. Revelation begins the energy cycle. It's the flipping of the switch, then the earnest expectation begins the building up of the energies, and finally love is the outward expression of what that revelation is all about. 6

7 I PETER 3:8 Finally, [be ye] all of one mind, having compassion one for another, LOVE as brethren, [be] pitiful, [be] courteous: EXPLOITS OF FAITH E 49 If we be in God then we're energized by His Spirit. And my hand are His hands." I JOHN 3:13 Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you. 14 We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not [his] brother abideth in death. 15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. 16 Hereby perceive we the LOVE [of God], because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down [our] lives for the brethren. 17 But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels [of compassion] from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? 18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. 19 And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him. 20 For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. 21 Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, [then] have we confidence toward God. 22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. 23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. WORKS THAT I DO BEAR WITNESS OF ME After all, I'd rather have the LOVE of God sealed in my heart than all the gifts there is in the Bible. That's right. WHERE I THINK PENTECOST FAILED When you've really been sealed by the Holy Spirit, love Divine follows you. We saw last night in our study that Jesus prophesied, "because iniquity would abound, the Love of many would die out". BELIEVEST THOU THIS? Used to be, a long time ago, when the neighbor got sick or something, we went over and cut his corn, cut him some wood if it was wintertime. And today the neighbor can die, and you don't know it till you read it in the paper. That's right. No friendship among one another anymore. That's awful. Love... "Because the iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold," said Jesus in Matthew's the 24th. That's true. QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS M I remember years ago. You always heard them talk about the sawdust trails and things in the Tabernacle. That didn't make it any more, not a bit more. But then it was fresh; God was calling His church. I've seen them sob and cry and lay on the altar all night long. I've went to their houses, and you could hear them when you come up, just in their--in their bedchamber, men and women, crying, "O God..." You'd see them walk through the church, and I'd see the piano start playing, "Jesus Keep Me Near The Cross," and the tears flowing down there, you know. [Brother Branham sniffles--ed.] Walk into this church, then walk down to another church, and hear them there, "There's a precious Fountain..." "O God, save my boy. Save my daughter; she's lost, Lord. Please." You don't find that no more. What's the matter? The Spirit of God is withdrew. Jesus said, predicted this, that the love... because the love 7

8 of many... the love would fail. "That because iniquity would abound, the love of many would fail." See? See, grow cold, go away... The love is dying away. And what they got into, just a form; Now, we are talking about what energizes a person, and we have shown that it is love. Love for a new car might energize a man to go to work to pay for it. Love for things causes people to work all kinds of jobs and hours in order to have those things. And what we just heard brother Branham say, is that there used to be love for one another in our lives, but that love is dying out. Our Love for one another has been replaced with a love for things. That is the influence of Laodicea upon the people whether they are aware of it or not. And the real Source of Love, pure Love, unselfish Love, unfeigned Love, is God. For God is Love. The reason that Love for the brethren is leaving the people is that God Himself is leaving. He's beginning to pull back, He's beginning to lift up from the earth. Notice he said, there used to be such a Love for God that people would cry out to God day and night for their loved ones. But we don't see that any more. Jesus said, predicted this, that the love... because the love of many... the love would fail. "That because iniquity would abound, the love of many would fail." See? See, grow cold, go away... The love is dying away. And what they got into, just a form; THIRSTING FOR LIFE Oh God, if we have to take every miracle out of the church, if we have to take all the pipe organs out, and the plush pews, give us back to that godly love, brotherly love among the people and fellowship. If we have to do all that, take it back to that again. Life, oh, life... HE CARES DO YOU CARE? You know, the Bible speaks that, that there'd be no love in the last days but just amongst the elect people. That's right. The Scripture speaks of that, that the husband would be against wife, and wife against husband, children against parents. Just among the elected of the Lord will there be any love left. I Thessalonians 1:3 Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father; 8

9 Now notice how Paul phrases his thoughts here. He says, Works OF Faith, and Labour OF Love, and Patience OF Hope. Now, we all know the word "OF" means OUT FROM, or having it's source from, and therefore we can read these words of Paul as, your works which spring forth or spring out from your faith (revelation), and your labor which comes forth as a result of Love, etc. It is the Love which produces it. Love then is an energizing power. In GALATIANS 5:6 Paul said, but faith which worketh by love. Then we see that Faith (revelation itself) is energized by love. Notrice Paul tells us again that our Faith worketh by Love. The word for worketh is a Greek word energeo and it means energizes. Our Faith is enrgized by Love, Paul says. It is for yours and my benefit as we see in : 6 And there are diversities of operations, (energema or energes) but it is the same God which worketh (energizes) all in all. PHILIPPIANS 2:13 For it is God which worketh (energizesd) in you both to will and to do of [his] good pleasure JAMES 5:16 Confess [your] faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. 10 HEAR YE HIM E 112 Now, if Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever, then He can, if He will come... And He knows you. And He can tell me, just like He showed the Son of God. If He's the same, He has to... See, Jesus... We are the (what?) branches; He's the Vine. Is that right? You Bible readers know that? Does the vine bear fruit? Be careful. No, the branches bear fruit. The vine only energizes the branches. So Jesus has no eyes tonight but mine and yours on earth. He has no hands but mine and yours. He has no voice but mine and yours. And He is the Spirit in us, and we are the branches to bear fruit as He energizes us. Is that right? Now, that's the way you'd have to do here. I CORINTHIANS 12:5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. 6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. DEEP CALLETH TO THE DEEP Now, the vine only energizes the branch. The vine doesn't bear fruit. The branch bears fruit. How many knows that? You don't pick it off the vine; you pick it off of the branch. And who is the branch? The Church, the branch. WHY Oh, how the Son of God took His own Life and inject it into my life, inject it into your life, and then comes down and energizes it with His Presence. Oh, my. EPHESIANS 1:11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh (energizes) all things after the counsel of his own will: SPOKEN WORD ORIGINAL SEED E God never placed signs ahead of His Word. (Amen. That's a scorcher.) God never placed signs ahead of His Word. They were added for proof of the Word, but the Word is first. To prove it, Elijah said to the woman, "Bake me a cake first."
