Bad and/or corrupt leaders As you watch the Brain Pop video, consider these questions: 1. How was Augustus rule different than the rule of the emperors who came after him? 2. Who was Commodus? What kind of leader was he? Why were most soldiers stationed on the borders of the empire? What do we use Multi-Flow Maps For? Used to show CAUSE and EFFECT! A cause is something that makes something else happen. Out of two events, it is the event that happens first. To determine the cause, ask the question "Why Did it Happen?" An effect is what happens as a result of the cause. Of two related events, it s the one that happens second or last. To determine the effect, ask the question "What Happened?" Today we are going to make a Multi-Flow make detailing the causes and effects of the fall of the Roman Empire. Get out a piece of lined paper. Turn your paper horizontal. 4

Do NOT write on the quiz itself. When you are finished, turn both the quiz and bubble sheet in to their respective stools. No Writing! First step, write down things you learned this week.
