This is a time of waiting with great anticipation: when we prepare ourselves spiritually for the birth of Jesus. It offers each of us an opportunity for a new beginning. Not only does it take place at the start of the liturgical year, but Advent also offers us a chance to re-examine and deepen our faith. Advent, Pope Francis says, is a time given to us to welcome the Lord who comes to meet us, to verify our desire for God, to look ahead and prepare ourselves for the return of Christ. Christ will return again at Christmas, when we remember how he came to us in the humility of the human condition. However, Christ also comes to each of us every time we are disposed to receive him, Pope Francis said, Because of this, we must always be watchful and attentive to the Lord with the hope of meeting him. May you and your family have a blessed Advent season! LIBRARY NEWS Thank you to everyone who came out to our Scholastic Book Fair this year! Thanks to your support, it was the most successful Book Fair in Monsignor Morrison history! Wow! We earned over $ , 25% of which we receive in support of our library! The winning ballot selected for participating was the Meglic family. They have won a family of 4 pass to Cineplex Odeon Theatre. However, due to a conflict, the prize will be awarded to the second top-selling family, who are the Jenkens. Our students have been working hard and are ready to welcome their parents, grandparents and all family on December 14th in the School Library from 11:45-1:00. We look forward to sharing our talents with you! Monsignor Morrison Catholic School Council: Making a Difference Canada 150 CHRISTMAS CONCERT, GR. 1-6 TUESDAY, DECEMBER 12TH 6:30 PM (students to arrive at 6:00 pm please) CHRISTMAS MEETING AND SOCIAL (bring a treat to share) December 6:30 pm in Library Come and celebrate Christmas Students will be making ornaments to sell as a sheet music fundraiser. They will be on display in our front hall for purchase. Please bring your spare change. Mrs. Thorne, Music Teacher Community Outreach Christmas Luncheon Thank you to Mrs. Roy Kaufman s Grade 7/8 class, who made Creches and Baby Jesus to adorn the tables in the basement of Holy Angels Church. They also made prayer cards for the visitors to take home. The tables looked very festive!
