Evening Sessions will be 6:30-8:15 PM, Tuesdays, July 1-Sept 30. Daytime Sessions will be 10-11:30 AM, Tuesdays, July 8-Oct 7. "Seven Ways to Hurt Your Pastor" from received June 16, 2014 from ThomRanier.com. "The pastors I spoke with this past week shared with me seven common themes of the things that hurt them the most. So, if you really want to hurt your pastor, follow these guidelines carefully. 1. Criticize the pastor s family. Few things are as painful to pastors as criticizing their families, especially if the criticisms are related to issues in the church. 2. Tell the pastor he is overpaid. Very few pastors really make much money. But there are a number of church members who would like to make the pastor feel badly about his pay. 3. Don t defend the pastor. Critics can be hurtful. But even more hurtful are those who remain silent while their pastor is verbally attacked. Silence is not golden in this case. 4. Tell your pastor what an easy job he has. It can really sting when someone suggests that the pastor really only works about ten hours a week. Some actually believe that pastors have several days a week off. 5. Be a constant naysayer. Pastors can usually handle the occasional critic. But the truly painful relationships are with church members who are constantly negative. How do you know you ve succeeded in this regard? The pastor runs the other way when he sees you. 6. Make comments about the pastor s expenditures. I heard it from a pastor this past week. A church member asked, How can you afford to go to Disney World? Wow. 7. Compare your pastor s preaching and ministry unfavorably to that of another pastor. Many times the member wants you to know how much he or she likes that pastor on the podcast compared to you. If you really want to hurt your pastor, you can make certain he knows how inferior he is. So, if your life s goal is to hurt your pastor, one or more of these approaches will work just fine. But, if you are like most good church members, you want the best for your pastor. So just do the opposite of these seven. And if you are worried that your pastor will not remain humble unless someone puts him in his place, don t worry. There will always be plenty of those other church members around."

5 MALLARY BAPTIST ASSOCIATION PRAYER UPDATE (Acts 1:8 Prayer Plan Volume 16, Number 7, July 24, 2014) Crisis Prayer 1. Pray for Jim Eure's (Pine Forest and former Moderator) wife Elaine and her serious health issue. 2. Pray for Jerry Willis, pastor of Mercedes BC, and his health issue. 3. Pray for a spirit of prayer to sweep through our churches that would usher in true revival. Our Jerusalem 1. Pray for our Vision to become a reality: "Serving together the churches of the Mallary Baptist Association will make disciples to impact the world." 2. We are praying for our churches and pastors according to an alphabetical list of churches. Pray this time for Southside Baptist Church (Bill Suggs, pastor), Sumner Baptist Church (John Townsend, pastor), Sunnyside Baptist Church (Terry Siniard, pastor), and Thundering Springs Baptist Church (Tom Baggett, pastor). 3. Pray for the churches without pastors: Byne, Evergreen, Gillionville, Gordy-New Bethel, Iglesia Bautista, New Union, Radium Springs, and Shingler. 4. Pray for our city and county officials in Dougherty, Lee, and Worth Counties. 5. Pray for our schools, boards of education, superintendents, principals, teachers, and students. 6. Pray for the lost in your family and your circle of influence (work, school, recreation, neighborhood, etc.). 7. Pray for unity in the body of Christ in Albany and surrounding area. 8. Pray for the monthly meetings of the Prayer Team, Discipleship Team, Evangelism/Missions Team, Administrative Team, as well as the monthly MBA Prayer Time. 9. Pray for the preparations for an Asian Indian Church Start and Younis Farhat, the church planter. 10. Pray for the Sunday School Workshop August 2 at Byne. 11. Pray for the MBA Annual Meeting October 16 at FBC Leesburg with George Russ from Metropolitan New York Baptist Association preaching. Our Judea 1. Pray for our state government officials. 2. Pray for the Georgia Baptist Convention: its Executive Director (Robert White), its ministries, and other employees. 3. Pray for the Georgia Baptists' Partnerships: California, Moscow/St. Petersburg, New York City, and Western Canada. 4. Pray for the GBC Annual Meeting November in Macon. Our Samaria 1. Pray for our national government leaders. 2. Pray for the North American Mission Board, its president (Kevin Ezell), staff, and its missionaries. 3. Pray for the Southern Baptist Convention: Frank Page, CEO of the Executive Committee and Ronnie Floyd, SBC President. 4. Pray for our partnership with the Metropolitan New York Baptist Association, New York; George Russ, Executive Director; its 260 churches; and their church planting efforts. 5. Pray for the revival of God s people and the spiritual awakening of our nation and the world Our Uttermost Parts of the World 1. Pray for the International Mission Board--its president (Tom Elliff), staff, and missionaries. 2. Pray for the one billion plus Muslims of the world that they would come to an understanding of who Jesus Christ is. 3. Pray for the salvation of the 100 Largest Unreached People Groups (We will pray for four each time.): Pray for the Central Thai people of Thailand whose major religion is Buddhism, the Northern Thai people of Thailand whose major religion is Buddhism, the Tuja people of China whose major religion is Ethnic Religions, and the Turk people of Turkey whose major religion is Islam. 4. Pray for the situation in Israel, Gaza, and the West Bank that progress would be made toward peace. 5. Pray for protection for our armed forces in Afghanistan. 6. Pray that the people of Iraq and Afghanistan would have stable governments and that they would have an opportunity to hear the Gospel and respond. 7. Pray for the persecuted Christians of the world. ANSWERS TO PRAYER 1. Praise the Lord for the 21 churches that participated in the Baptist Children's Home Product Drive. The trailer was about half full! 2.
