2 Hark! The Herald Angels Sing AN ADVENT SERVICE FOR THE CONGREGATION AND ITS CHILDREN ST. PETER S LUTHERAN CHURCH OTTAWA DECEMBER 13, 2015 Welcome to this service of the Sunday Church School children retelling the greatest story of all the birth of our Saviour, Jesus Christ. Prelude: Allegro in F Arcangelo Corelli Allegro in G Georg Phillip Telemann performed by Anuli Eipe Greeting/Announcements Pastor Beglo Cross bearer Sam Costen Processional Hymn: Oh, Come, Little Children (first verse sung by children only, verses 2-4 together with congregation) 1. Oh, come, little children, oh, come, one and all; 3. See, Mary and Joseph, with love-beaming eyes, To Bethlehem haste to the manger so small. Are gazing upon the rude bed where He lies; God s Son for a gift has been sent you this night The shepherds are kneeling with hearts full of love, To be your Redeemer, your Joy and Delight. While angels sing loud alleluias above. 2. He s born in a stable for you and for me; 4. Kneel down and adore Him with shepherds today, Draw near by the bright, gleaming starlight to see, Lift up little hands now and praise Him as they; In swaddling clothes lying, so meek and so mild, Rejoice that a Savior from sin you can boast, And purer than angels, the heavenly Child. And join in the song of the heavenly host. Responsive Reading: Leader: He came as a baby in a manger, People: Come, Lord Jesus. Leader: He came to be our Savior. People: Come, Lord Jesus. Leader: With joy and gladness, People: Come, Lord Jesus. Leader: He comes to us each day in His Word of promise. People: Come, Lord Jesus. Leader: Let us open our hearts to Him, People: and walk in His ways. Leader: He will come again to take us to Himself in heaven. People: Come, Lord Jesus. SONG: Sing Noel Sung by the Junior Choir 1
