3 September 18, 2016 Page 3 We Are Together At Mass When you choose to participate at Mass, you choose to feel God s living power. Pick up a hymnal. Read the readings. Respond with your voice. Feel the Word of God within you. Be an example for others, especially our young. Did you know that the lyrics of our hymns and songs are actually beautiful prayers selected specifically for that Mass? That makes our hymnal your prayerbook! If you are self-conscious about singing, participate by opening the hymnal and praying the text of the hymn as others sing. The Church encourages our full and active participation in the Holy Mass. When you sing, you encourage others to do the same. Please use the hymnal! Don t sing? Participate anyway by opening the hymnal and praying the text of the song as others sing. Don t miss out on the message! both Holy Communion and Confirmation The RCIA process is much more than a program; it is a learning & loving process in which conversion of the heart brings one to Christ in a powerful manner; it is an answer to the Gospel invitation, Come to me all you who are weary and find life burdensome, and I will refresh you. PERPETUAL EUCHARISTIC ADORATION Christ's followers were skeptical when He preached the reality of His Body and Blood as food and drink. St. John said, "many of His disciples withdrew and no longer went about with Him." Seeing this, Jesus asked the Twelve, "Do you also want to leave me?" Simon Peter did not understand any more than those who left Christ, but his loyalty was more firm. "Lord," he said, "to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. We have the "Word of Eternal Life" right here with us day and night in our Adoration Chapel. Do you have something you want to ask Him? There are several hours needing adorers. Please pick one for your personal hour with Him. They are ordinary people, JUST LIKE YOU, who generously volunteer their time to share their Catholic faith, values, and traditions with our youngest generation of Christians. In other words, is a person of faith who leads others to God through understanding of faith based on official teaching of the Church. Are you looking for a way to share your faith, time and talents with others that requires no previous experience? We have the answer for you! Listen to your heart and see if God is calling you to be a part of this very important and rewarding ministry. For those interested in helping children grow in faith and spirituality, please contact Mac Karaban, Pastoral Associate at or via at mkaraban@sjbrebeuf.org. THANK YOU! Catechesis is a pillar for education in faith.
