We pray with gratitude for our three Parishes which have been the sign of your presence in North Rockhampton for over 100 years. We give thanks for the gifts bestowed upon all parishioners, both past and present, and for the many priests and religious who have served you and your people in our Parishes. As we move through this time of change where our worshipping communities seek to come together more closely, we pray that your Holy Spirit will guide us and that Mary, our Mother will continue to support and protect us both now and into the future. Planned Giving Receipts for financial year July 16- June17 FOR BOTH ROCKONIA AND PARK AVENUE are now available. PLEASE CALL THE PARISH OFFICE. PLEASE NOTE: Our Priests will be away at the Haven this coming week so there are some changes to our weekday Masses. Mass will be at Park Avenue on Friday 13 th October at 9am but the rest of the Mass times are the Cathedral times and are listed on the front of the Bulletin. Thank You. PARISH & CHILDREN S MASSES : Park Avenue: Saturday evening 6pm on October 14 th Children from St Joseph s School will participate in the Liturgy at this Mass and everyone is invited to stay after Mass for a cuppa. (Please bring along a plate of food to share). Holy Family: Sunday morning 9am on Sunday 15 th October, Children from St Anthony s & St Mary s School will participate in the Liturgy at this Mass. Parish Council Members will host a cuppa after Mass and ice blocks will be available for the children. Everyone is welcome. Students from St Anthony s, St Mary s and Emmaus are invited to lead the singing at our mass at the nine o clock mass on Sunday. Any students who would to take part are invited to a practice at 8:00am on Sunday 15 th October at Holy Family Church. COMMUNITY NOTICES 100 Recipes for 100 Years As part of the Centenary Celebrations in 2018, St Ursula s College, Yeppoon, will produce a recipe book, 100 Recipes for 100 Years. We are currently seeking recipes from past and present students, staff and members of the College Community. Handwritten or typed copies of recipes are welcome. Please include your Full Name, including Maiden Name, together with the years associated with the College, and in what role, e.g. student, teacher, parent, Presentation Associate, etc. All recipes should be addressed to the attention of Mrs Cheryl Kussrow, or Ms Jenny Pieper. Month of Prayer and Fasting for Marriage and Families Week 2 October 8 This Sunday, October 8, is the second week of the Month of Prayer and Fasting. The prayer theme for this Sunday is: for the strengthening of marriages and families in distress. ROCKHAMPTON CHURCHES TOGETHER COVENANT OF PRAYER Please pray for: ST PAUL S ANGLICAN CATHEDRAL. The Annual Catholic Mission Appeal for World Mission Month will be conducted in our Parish on the weekend of 21 st and 22 nd October Inspired by the Gospel of John, I have come so that they may have life and have it to the full` ( John 10:10 ),this appeal will raise vital funds for and awareness of the life giving work of Catholic Mission in Uganda. Catholic Mission`s ongoing support to over 1,100 dioceses around the world including Australia is only possible thanks to your ongoing generous support. Catholic-Lutheran Common Prayer Service. In commemoration of the 500 th Anniversary of the Protestant Reformation, a Catholic-Lutheran Common Prayer Service will take place on Sunday 5 November at 2.30 pm at St Joseph s Cathedral. Both Bishop Michael McCarthy and Lutheran Bishop Paul Smith will be presiding. With a great spirit of ecumenism and good will, you are warmly invited to this service as we move from conflict to communion with our Lutheran brothers and sisters in Christ. All members of the parish family including leaders in schools, parishes, and communities, liturgy groups, teachers and catechists will find much value in this workshop. DATE CLAIMER: PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS AND SAFEGUARDING SESSION The Diocese will be running a Standards and Safeguarding session in Rockhampton An invitation is extended to all those who are involved in parish ministries to attend, to ensure that you are across the important developments in this vital area. These sessions will provide specific support on the Diocesan Safeguarding Policy (Parish requirements, safe activities and safe recruitment) and ensure that all are well versed in these requirements.
