3 Senior Pastor s Office HUMAN RESOURCES Receptionist Summary: Operates multi-line telephone system to assist internal/external customers by directing callers to the appropriate personnel. Details: Welcome on-site visitors, determines nature of business, and announce to the appropriate personnel. Answers incoming telephone calls, determine purpose of call, and forward to appropriate personnel/department. Answer inquiries and provides callers with appropriate information; sign for incoming deliveries. Experience/Skills: Good communication skills, dependable, professional friendly demeanor; basic computer skills. Schedule: Volunteer coverage is needed Monday-Friday during the office hours of 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. to assist with lunch coverage and special project coverage. Members must be able to volunteer a minimum of 3 hours per week and attend quarterly HR Volunteer meetings. EXECUTIVE BUSINESS OFFICE BOOKSTORE Store Volunteers Summary: The frontline representative for Customer Service and Sales of bookstore Christian Resources. Details: Operate computerized point of sale and cash register systems and assist with all customer service needs including answering questions, research and the selection of Christian resources. Experience/Skills: Experience Skills in retail sales or customer service. Schedule: Twice a month before and after Wednesday service, between and after Sunday services. Optional dates include special events, conferences and during staff vacations. FOOD SERVICES Food Servers Summary: Assist food preparers in setup for serving lines and/or steam tables. Details: Practice safe food handling procedures at all times. Serve meals or components; store or dispose of excess food properly; provide service for laundry detail and linens. Experience/Skills: No experience is necessary; training is provided. Schedule: Flexible depending on scheduled events. Catering Servers Summary: Assist with serving meals for catered events on campus. Details: Practice safe food handling and helps setup buffet and tables, equipment (chaffers, coffee brewers); light chaffers; and other necessary duties. Know contents of catering menu to answer questions concerning food being served. Arrives at scheduled events on time and dressed in proper uniform. Regularly required to stand for long periods of time; walk; frequent use of hands. Experience/Skills: At least 6 months food skills experience is necessary; training is provided. Schedule: Flexible depending on scheduled events. 3

4 THE URBAN ALTERNATIVE The Urban Alternative Volunteers Summary: The Urban Alternative is the national ministry of Dr. Tony Evans and seeks to restore hope and transform lives through the sound teaching and distribution of the word of God. A wide variety of opportunities are available in areas of office assistance, phone calls on behalf of the ministry, prayer ministry, conferences, and using personal expertise toward meeting additional needs - including marketing and development. Details: Work onsite at the TUA offices in South Dallas among a TUA team of committed and highly motivated staff. Opportunities include making telephone calls to ministry partners, organizational needs in the office, typing, scanning, prayer ministry and other areas as needed. Experience/Skills: If you are passionate about sharing God s word with a world in need and are willing to work diligently in an environment of teamwork and mutual respect, then you can utilize your God-given skills and experience at The Urban Alternative. Schedule: A bi-monthly meeting will be held at OCBF for fellowship and a ministry overview. 5 Administration INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY Information Systems Summary: Assist in computer system planning, implementation and problem solution. Details: Will assist in the repair, upgrading of computer hardware and software. Experience/Skills: Advanced computer knowledge. Schedule: Four hours per week. Monthly meeting is 3 rd Saturday at 10:00 am. MEMBERSHIP SERVICES Summary: The Membership Services ministry coordinates and executes the process of taking visitors from prospective members to full membership. Volunteers facilitate prospective member registration, Discover OCBF Pre-membership class, presentation, and baptism. Membership Services volunteers are "the face" of the church, and more often than not, the first impression for joining members. Details: Membership Services volunteers serve on individual teams that rotate tasks on a monthly basis. On any given month the team is responsible for registration, Discover OCBF Pre-membership class, or the new member presentation process. There are a number of tasks including administrative, customer service, presentation and team leader duties. Experience/Skills: Administrative, Customer Service, Speaking, Leadership, Friendly, Service Minded Schedule: Team Rotation, opportunity to serve every month. Baptism Team serves every 1st Sunday. The other Teams rotate responsibility every month, and the times to serve vary by responsibility. Bimonthly ministry meeting is the 4th Saturday at 9:00 am. SECURITY Drivers Summary: Provide bus and shuttle service for church services and events. Details: Drive church shuttle buses during Sunday morning, Wednesday evening services and for Church sponsored events. Experience/Skills: Will need to have a CDL license to drive the shuttle buses, class C driver s license and a clean driving record. Schedule: Sunday Services, Wednesday Night Service, and Special Events. Parking Lot Attendants Summary: Direct traffic flow on OCBF property. Details: Prior to and following Sunday Morning and Wednesday Services and for Special events will direct traffic on and off the parking lots of OCBF. Experience/Skills: Accustomed to standing for extended periods of time. Serve under different Weather conditions. Schedule: Sunday Services, Wednesday Night Service, and Special Events. 5

6 Christian Education FELLOWSHIP CHRISTIAN ACADEMY (FCA) Fellowship Christian Academy (FCA) is a college preparatory school that provides a superior education in a nurturing Christian environment that enables children to reach their highest academic potential and apply a Biblical worldview to every area of life. At FCA there are numerous volunteer opportunities that include such activities as assisting in the classroom, being a greeter, providing administrative help, and event planning and support. Many duties have flexible dates and time periods. Whatever your gift or skill set, we can use it towards building our 21st Century Kingdom leaders at FCA. To become a volunteer, you need to complete a background check; once approved, we will help you connect with your area of interest at the school. Thank you for your willingness to serve. Working in partnership with our community will help our school succeed in creating productive, well-rounded, and responsible Kingdom citizens. ADULT EDUCATION Bible Institute Teachers Summary: Equips Christians to apply God's Word in every aspect of life through an interactive learning environment. Teachers facilitate the mission by providing instruction, cultivating learning and assisting with life application for students. Details: Teach a particular Bible Institute class which is in alignment with their area of strength. Required to prepare a syllabus, class lessons, interactive learning activities, assignments, and grading. Experience/Skills: Good communication skills, presentation skills, organized. Bible/theology Instructors must have an accredited degree from a bible college or seminary in Theology, Biblical Studies or Christian Education. Professional instructors must have a degree from and accredited university and experience in the subject matter being taught using biblical principles. Schedule: Classes are held according to an academic calendar and offered on Sundays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. A meet and greet is held before the fall and spring semesters. Bible Institute Volunteers Summary: Equips Christians to apply God's Word in every aspect of life through an interactive learning environment. Bible Institute volunteers facilitate the mission by functioning as a support system. Details: Volunteers serve by assisting with registration, marketing, setup and break down, database management, teacher assessment and teacher assistants. Experience/Skills: Service minded, administrative, customer service, and friendly. Schedule: Classes are held according to an academic calendar and are offered on Sundays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. Monthly volunteer meeting is held the 3 rd Saturday of the month. Library (Resource Center) Summary: The Library Resource Center provides published resources to OCBF members for their spiritual development and enjoyment and manages the intake and distribution of resources. Details: Volunteers assist with the circulation of resources, updating patron information, restocking materials, providing care and repair to materials, cataloging and verifying catalog information. 6

7 Experience/Skills: Detailed oriented, organized, administrative skills, customer service oriented, and Librarian experience (if possible). The Library Resource Center is generally open during the Bible Institute semesters. CHILDREN S MINISTRY SUNDAY ZONE Children s Church Summary: Ministers biblical truth during Sunday morning worship services. Ministry is accomplished by the application of a comprehensive, diversified, need sensitive and culturally-relevant Christian Educational program; Centering our teaching in the Word of God. Details: Teach and assists with Pre-school to 5 th grade children, age-appropriate activity using centers, storytelling, hands-on, and Let s Make It Real bible application. All workers who serve in Children s Ministry must submit to a criminal background check and must complete ministry orientation and participate in ongoing training classes provided by ministry. Experience/Skills: Dependable and compassionate with a love for children. A desire to grow, model and teach disciple children to love God and others. Help with various support tasks that consist of developing, planning, and setting up learning activities for the Bible lessons in a specific department with a ministry team. Schedule: Three to six hours, one Sunday a month, both services and/or two Sunday s one service a month; first through 4 th Sunday s for 1 st through 5 th grade children. On the 5 th Sunday, Easter Sunday, Church anniversary Sunday and Christmas Sunday, children in the 1 st 5 th grade stay with parents for Family worship in the main sanctuary. However, preschoolers ages 2 K5 remain in CE building and have regular classrooms for both services. Fifth Sundays and other special Sundays are done on rotation basis. 6 th Grade Bridge and Graduation Summary: Work with small group discipleship program rite of passage, designed to transition 6 th graders to the "Next Level" Youth Ministry from February through May. Details: Facilitate interactive fellowship and ministry activities with the Youth Ministry; conduct large and/or small group discipleship sessions during regular class time where biblical principles are taught, focusing on life issue topics. All workers that serve in the Children s Ministry must submit to a criminal background check and complete required core training classes. Experience/Skills: Dependable and compassionate with a love for children: a desire to grow, model and teach disciple children to love God and others. These persons lead or assist, direct and organize the classroom activities. Schedule: Three to six hours every Sunday, both services (7:50 & 10:50 am) from February - May. That is: One Sunday/Two services, or One Sunday/one or two services. On the 5 th Sunday children in the 1 st 5 th grade stay with parents in the main sanctuary for Family worship. Administrative Support Summary: Assist in the administration, facilitation and organization of God s program. Serves as program liaison support between Servant Workers, the Ministry Director, and other staff by managing the needs of the ministry. Details: Team is committed to actively administering God's program by managing the needs of Sunday Children's Church, Wednesday night, updating database, signing in children, clerical duties, providing support to the Sunday team, helping with parent servant workers. All workers that serve in the Children s 7

8 Ministry must submit to a criminal background check and complete ministry orientation and required training classes provided by ministry. Experience/Skills: Organizational, administrative abilities to assist with computer check-in and the rectifying of attendance for correct age/grade of children. Demonstrate good customer service to families and oversee the safety of children and environment; also dependable and compassionate with a love for children: a desire to grow, model and teach disciple children to love God and others. Schedule: Three to six hours on Sunday morning: one Sunday/two services, or one Sunday/one or two services (7:50 &/or 10:50 am). Special events as they occur. Baptism Summary: Assist in the planning and implementation of the children's baptism program for grades 1-5. Details: Help children know, show and grow in their faith. Children's baptism is scheduled 4-5 times a year with four class sessions during the morning service. All workers that serve in the Children s Ministry must submit to a criminal background check and complete ministry orientation and other required training classes provided by ministry. Experience/Skills: Dependable and compassionate with a love for children: a desire to grow, model and teach disciple children to love God and others. Adults who help children understand and respond positively to the significance of baptism. Schedule: Two and a half hours every quarter but only serve one quarter: four Sunday s/sessions from 8:00 10:15 am. Children s Choir Summary: Persons who desire to teach, support, and encourage children ages 5 to 5 th grade how to Worship and praise the Lord through songs and instruments so they develop an authentic desire for praise and worship as a lifestyle. Details: Ministry volunteers to assist administratively with rehearsals and during times of ministry. All workers that serve in the Children s Ministry must submit to a criminal background check and complete ministry orientation and other required training classes provided by ministry. Experience/Skills: Dependable and compassionate with a love for children: a desire to grow, model and teach disciple children to love God and others. Administrative and organizational abilities to plan, lead and direct in assisting children and adults. Schedule: One hour and fifteen minutes every first and second Sunday from 9:30 10:40 am (except June, September). And the Saturday after 1-3 pm the Sunday before the 5 th Sunday. Around Easter and December rehearsals TBA for special church programs. Children s Drama Summary: Persons who want to evangelize and disciple children through development and participation in special productions and other ministry opportunities within the church, such as: on 5 th Sunday in the Sanctuary reading scripture, welcoming guest and ministry and other church-wide programs. Details: To positively encourage children to express themselves through drama. All workers that serve in the Children s Ministry must submit to a criminal background check and complete ministry orientation and other required training classes provided by ministry. 8

9 Experience/Skills: Dependable and compassionate with a love for children: a desire to grow, model and teach disciple children to love God and others. Administrative and organizational abilities to plan, lead and direct with adults (including parents) and children. Ongoing training provided. Schedule: Two hours on Tuesday s from 6:30 8:00 am and special ministry opportunities and churchwide events in the sanctuary. Children s Worship Summary: Assist in scheduling, planning, organizing and implementing the children s worship time. Details: All workers that serve in the Children s Ministry must submit to a criminal background check and complete ministry orientation and other required training classes provided by ministry. Experience/Skills: Dependable and compassionate with a love for children: a desire to grow, model and teach disciple children to love God and others through worship. Encourage and cultivate children to have a greater level of knowledge and understanding of God. Schedule: Two or Five and half hours every Sunday both services; Wednesday evenings and special events. On the 5 th Sunday children in the 1 st 6 th grade stay with parents for Family worship in the main sanctuary. Hospitality/Fellowship/Food Servers/Greeters Summary: Persons to greet children and parents and assist with other Sunday morning activities. Details: Assist with Sunday snacks, parent table, ensure first time parent and children feel comfortable with their new environment, prepare and serve light refreshments to other volunteer children workers. Pray and assist with other tasks to help cultivate community within the ministry. All workers must submit to a criminal background check and complete ministry orientation and other required training classes provided by ministry. Experience/Skills: Dependable and compassionate with a love for children: a desire to grow, model and teach disciple children to love God and others by consistently serving parents and the volunteer workers. Loves to serve others. Schedule: Two hours one Sunday morning per month. One service from 7:30 9:30 am, and/or Wednesday evening services whenever necessary from 6:45 8:30 pm. Kidz from the Cliff Table and Children s Bulletin Summary: Persons who want to serve at the Kidz at the Cliff Table during Sunday worship service. Details: Prepare bulletins, setup and breakdown of table resources, greet children and parents, manage table and distribute children bulletins. All workers must submit to a criminal background check and complete ministry orientation and other required training classes provided by ministry. Experience/Skills: Dependable and compassionate with a love for children: a desire to grow, model and teach disciple children to love God and others. Manage, plan and organize materials for children to compliment and/or reinforce biblical teachings. Schedule: Every 5th Sunday in Sanctuary. Saturday preparation before Family worship 5 th Sunday. 9

10 K-Moms and K-Dads Summary: Parents who encourage other parents to serve in their children's classes and serve in other capacities in the Children's ministry. They also provide information or resources for families. Details: Parents, who support, encourage and appreciate parents in the spiritual raising of their children. They send post cards or call parents to remind them of their serving commitment, greet parents and children, setup and breakdown areas and other tasks and responsibilities. Also help with events sign-up. All workers must submit to a criminal background check and complete ministry orientation and other required training classes provided by ministry. Experience/Skills: Dependable and compassionate with a love for children: a desire to grow, model and teach disciple children to love God and others. Manage, plan, schedule and organize, children badges, parent resources and parent community events. Schedule: Five hours one Sunday per month (7:30 11:30 am or signup event times until after 2 nd service and Wednesday evenings or as necessary (6:45 8:30 pm). Nursery Servant Worker Summary: "First Touch" nurturing adults and teenagers to assist with nursery age children one Sunday a month. Details: Minister to nursery age children (0 to 23 months). All workers must submit to a criminal background check and complete ministry orientation and other required training classes provided by ministry. One year commitment for a positive Christ honoring first time experience with children. Experience/Skills: Dependable and compassionate with a love for children: a desire to grow, model and teach disciple children to love God and others. Persons to provide planned, safe, nurturing, stimulating and age-appropriate positive environment. Schedule: Three hours one Sunday/one service and Wednesday evenings (6:30 8:30 pm). Puppeteer Ministry His Hands (HHP) Summary: Use puppets to communicate biblical truth. Details: Persons desiring to communicate biblical truths to children using puppets. All workers must submit to a criminal background check and complete ministry orientation and other required training classes provided by ministry. Experience/Skills: Dependable and compassionate with a love for children: a desire to grow, model and teach disciple children to love God and others. Build, nurture, encourage children to respond and obey biblical truths and principles presented during performances. Schedule: As scheduled for Sunday or Wednesday events. Kingdom Kare Medical Team Summary: Medical and professional team of volunteers to minister to children and adults on Sunday, Wednesday or Special events. Details: All workers must submit to a criminal background check and complete ministry orientation and other required training classes provided by ministry. Experience/Skills: A certified nurse, physician s assistant, or similar professional, on the medical team who is qualified to care and treat children and adults during church events. CPR certified training. Schedule: Three or five and half hours one Sunday/one or two services per month and one Wednesday per month. 10

11 Special Needs Servant Workers Summary: Persons who provide individual, safe, and Christ-centered enrichment activities for emotionally, physically, and/or developmentally challenged children and/or adults to the extent that they need one-onone care. Details: All workers that serve in the Children s Ministry must submit to a criminal background check and complete ministry orientation and other required training classes provided by ministry. Experience/Skills: Dependable and compassionate with a love for children: a desire to grow, model and teach disciple children to love God and others in a nurturing, stimulating and positive environment. Necessary training provided. Schedule: This ministry operates year-round on Sundays during morning worship services. Also mainstreams in children s church classrooms and AWANA on Wednesday nights, September - May. WEDNESDAY ZONE AWANA (Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed, 2 Tim. 2:15) Summary: This program is similar to the boy/girl Scouts program but with a biblical emphasis based on 2 Timothy 2:15. It provides children with a positive fun atmosphere as they learn scripture. Details: The goal of AWANA is to train children and youth to know, love, & serve the Lord Jesus Christ. Proverbs 22:6 Train a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not turn from it. All workers must submit to a criminal background check and complete ministry orientation and other required training classes provided by ministry as well as AWANA Basic training. Experience/Skills: Dependable, compassionate and committed believer in Jesus Christ with a love for children and desire to spread God s word. Schedule: Three hours the OCBF AWANA Ministry is in session September-May each Wednesday Night for approximately 32 weeks. Administrative Support Summary: Members of the Administrative Assistant (AA) support team assume various administrative secretarial tasks designed to facilitate the effective and efficient operation of the AWANA Ministry. Details: This team is committed to actively administering God's program by managing the needs of the AWANA Wednesday program. All workers must submit to a criminal background check and complete ministry orientation and other required training classes provided by ministry. Experience/Skills: Dependable, compassionate and committed believer in Jesus Christ with a love for children and desire to spread God s word. Administrative, facilitative with good customer service. Schedule: Three hours on Wednesday evenings during regular school year (DISD school closures) approximately 32 weeks. Club Leaders/Classroom Servant Workers Summary: Persons who are dedicated and have a desire to disciple a small group of children. Details: Under the supervision of Club Director, club leaders are responsible for the effective implementation of activities designed to foster the spiritual development of the children in their clubs. All workers must submit to a criminal background check and complete ministry orientation and other required training classes provided by ministry. 11

12 Experience/Skills: Dependable, compassionate and committed believer in Jesus Christ with a love for children and desire to spread God s word. Schedule: Three hours for AWANA Ministry when in session September-May each Wednesday Night for approximately 32 weeks according to the DISD school closures. Special events by and as events come along. Club Secretaries Summary: Record keepers for the AWANA program. Details: Help with proper record keeping such as handbook achievements, team points and awards and inventory of club supplies. Also assist to help the club function more adequately so leaders can focus more on "discipling the children." All workers must submit to a criminal background check and complete ministry orientation and other required training classes provided by ministry. Experience/Skills: Dependable, compassionate and committed believer in Jesus Christ with a love for children and desire to spread God s word. Detailed oriented. Schedule: Wednesday evenings from 6:45 9:30 pm. Check-in begins at 6:30pm. SummerBridge Summary: Links between the regular AWANA program with the goal of good old-fashioned fun (less structured than the AWANA program) with short biblical emphasis instructions. Details: Bridge between the stop and start of AWANA each Wednesday night. This ministry is designed to provide good old-fashioned fun with Biblical emphasis instruction. All workers must submit to a criminal background check and complete ministry orientation and other required training classes provided by ministry. Experience/Skills: Dependable, compassionate and committed believer in Jesus Christ with a love for children and desire to spread God s word. Schedule: SummerBridge is in session June-August each Wednesday Night from 7:00-8:30 pm for approximately 9 weeks. Check-in begins at 6:30pm. Training Development Summary: To equip all children servant workers (volunteers) through workshops and/or seminars as well as the ongoing Ministry Training classes. Details: Prepare and teach training development sessions for volunteers seeking to serve in the Children's Ministry. All workers must submit to a criminal background check and complete ministry orientation and other required training classes provided by ministry. Experience/Skills: Dependable, compassionate and committed believer with a love for children and desire to spread God s word. A desire and understanding about God s mandate to train and equip the believer to do or carry on the work of the ministry, Acts 2: Presentation skills. Schedule: Training classes coincide with the Bible Institute semesters during the Spring and Fall of each year. 12

13 SPECIAL EVENT ZONE Events Servant Workers Summary: Persons to assist in one or more areas of planning, administrating, facilitating, coordinating and implementation of special events. A holistic view of ministering spiritually to the complete person. Details: These are safe and fun fellowships for families, a community outreach event that naturally provides an environment to deliver the message of the gospel. Events include: New Year's Eve, Funfest (Super bowl alternative), Spring Fest (Easter Egg Hunt), HarvestFest (Fall Festival Halloween alternative), Family Vacation Bible School, Family Fun Back-to-School Bash. All workers must submit to a criminal background check and complete ministry orientation and other required training classes provided by ministry. All workers must submit to a criminal background check and complete ministry orientation and other required training classes provided by ministry. They must also complete a Ministry safe video training and be certified. Experience/Skills: Work well with children ages 10-18; Committed believer in Jesus Christ with a love for children and desire to disciple children and spreading God s word. Schedule: January August (preparation). The annual camp event is June th of each year. CrossTalk Summary: People interested in discipling pre-teens (4 th - 6 th grade, mainly 6 th graders) by reinforcing biblical principles, enhancing value systems, modeling to the world that children can do extraordinary things in ordinary situations at home, church, school and in their neighborhoods. Details: Administrate, organize, facilitate and implement classroom, events and/or projects for a group of a minimum of 15 children. All workers must submit to a criminal background check and complete ministry orientation and other required training classes provided by ministry. Experience/Skills: Committed believer in Jesus Christ, a love for children and desire to spread God s word. Schedule: One Sunday per month in-between and after the first service. Also community outreach ministry events. YOUTH MINISTRY Administration Team Summary: This team is responsible for the coordination of administrative work for all areas of the Next Level Youth Ministry. Details: Volunteers will coordinate and assist with all the various administrative duties. 13

14 Experience/Skills: General administrative skills. Schedule: Typical serving opportunities are 2 nd and 4 th Sundays and Wednesday night Bible study. Baptism Team Summary: Responsible for the direction of the team with coordinating the baptism sign-up and assisting with facilitating baptism classes. Details: Responsible for teaching baptism classes during the training sessions and assist with sign-ups on scheduled Sundays. Experience/Skills: Administrative skills and presentation skills for those interested in teaching. Schedule: Baptism is every 5 th Sunday. There are four classes scheduled that includes orientation that youth must complete prior to baptism Sunday. Community Service Team Summary: This team is responsible for the planning and implementation of the community service projects of Next Level (summer serve, nursing home visits, etc.). Details: Volunteers will assist in the planning of the events, will attend the events, and assist the director of the team in coordination of each project. Experience/Skills: Knowledge of community service projects and organizations helpful. Organization skills, good working with, and coordinating youth. Schedule: Events are normally held quarterly throughout the year. Fellowship Team Summary: Responsible for the care of youth workers and visitors during fellowships and special events. Details: Will distribute food and coordinate other acts of hospitality for youth ministry programming. Experience/Skills: No experience necessary; however, cooking experience helpful. Schedule: 2 nd and 4 th Sundays, 4 th, Wednesday evenings, and special events. Special Events Team Summary: Will assist event Director with planning and coordinating all Next Level special events. Details: Assist with planning and attending Vacation Bible School, New Year's Eve service, Trick-or-Treating for Souls special event and other youth events throughout the year. Experience/Skills: Organization and administrative skills. Schedule: Flexible depending on when event is scheduled. Sunday Service Team Summary: Responsible for welcoming and engaging youth during Sunday services. Details: Volunteers will be responsible for making the students feel loved and welcomed, be there for the students as prayer partners during altar call and obtain necessary information for future follow-up. Experience/Skills: Enjoy working with youth, planning and administrative skills. Schedule: 2 nd and 4 th Sunday of each month. 14

15 Discipleship Group Summary: The goal of the discipleship program is to cultivate spiritual growth and personal maturity in the lives of the young men and women of Next Level. Details: Volunteers facilitate discussion, foster spiritual growth, build mentor relationships, and through their lives provide Godly examples for the youth to follow. Experience/Skills: Have a heart to disciple young men and women. Schedule: 1 st and 3 rd Wednesday Bible Study nights. Youth Worship Team Summary: Responsible for assisting in the coordination of various projects including youth praise team, youth choir, youth dance, youth step, and youth drama teams. Details: Assist with coordinating practices and creative input. Experience/Skills: Experienced in performing arts ministries. Schedule: Weekly practices. Youth Choir (Young Warriors for Christ) Summary: Youth who are willing to have their voices trained and to begin to learning various types of sacred music and parents willing to serve as needed to assist. Details: Youth ages who are willing to have their voices trained and to begin learning various types of sacred music. Experience/Skills: Ability to sing Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass or Baritone part. Schedule: Rehearsal - 7:00 pm and serve on designated Sunday morning services. Higher Education Action Team (H.E.A.T.) Summary: Exists to encourage, equip and empower high school students and their parents in pro-actively preparing for post-secondary education; making an impact in both the parents' and students' lives. Details: HEAT volunteers assist with designing, planning, coordinating, and supporting events. A variety of events are hosted throughout the year, i.e., SAT and ACT practice exams, Valentine Care Packets, a College Scholarship program and a High School Senior Banquet. Experience/Skills: Service Minded, Heart for High School Students. Schedule: Volunteers generally serve based on the event schedule. 15

Schedule: Mondays - Saturdays (no set schedule). Intake Assistant Summary: Welcome and assist clients (in person and via telephone) as they come to the Fellowship Counseling Center after regular business hours. Details: Greet clients who come into the Counseling Office for counseling or to begin counseling. Assist in filing, completing pertinent paperwork, and scheduling follow-up appointments on the appointment calendar. Attend monthly meetings. Biblical Life Coaches Summary: Persons who desire to assist in working with individuals, families or groups in a counseling relationship. Details: Weekly meetings with clients to help them work through complex circumstances and help them to rise to the next level using a Biblical foundation. Experience/Skills: BLC Training or Equivalent Required and Prescreening for readiness. Schedule: Office hours are Monday through Friday, 9 am - 9 pm and Saturday 8:30 am - 5 pm. Volunteers can choose their schedule, but it would need to be consistent. (i.e. Tuesday evenings from 7pm-9pm). Attend monthly meetings. Free At Last Support Groups Summary: Seeking individuals who have a gift to encourage, care for, and facilitate growth by engaging others to express their inner thoughts and feelings and foster healing. Details: Walk alongside a group of individuals dealing with similar, specific life issues through guided material, using accountability, prayer, and a biblical foundation. Experience/Skills: Organization skills and detail oriented. Training provided through attending Biblical Life Coach Training (Lay Counselor Training) and Internship or equivalent. Schedule: Small groups are held Monday nights from 6:30pm -9:30pm for 10 weeks. There are three sessions throughout the year. Can choose, but not limited to, one of the three 10 week sessions. Attend monthly meetings. SMALL GROUPS Spiritual Growth Facilitator Summary: The Spiritual Growth Ministry plays a key role in facilitating the spiritual growth of members of OCBF and fosters spiritual growth in the life of the body by leading members through a dynamic small group experience. Details: Facilitators lead a small group (10-12 participants) through a 12 week study of the Life Essentials curriculum. Facilitators are expected to lead the discussion of the curriculum and build relationships with group members. Experience/Skills: Spiritual maturity, prior participation in a Spiritual growth group, completion of facilitator application, interview, and facilitator training. Schedule: Facilitators serve on teams that rotate times of serving. Quarterly volunteer meetings are held the 3rd Sunday of the month. Classes are held on Sundays during both services. Men s and Women s Small Group Facilitators Summary: A Men s or Women s small group facilitator will oversee a group of no more than 12 people. The facilitator will be responsible for encouraging relationships and connectivity within the small group and directing a discussion of an approved Bible study curriculum. Details: Small Group Facilitators will be responsible for the following duties: Modeling to their small group a growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Facilitating the discussion of the approved curriculum and encouraging participation by all group members. Shepherding the small group by 18

19 relationally connecting with group members and demonstrating attentiveness and follow-up on needs expressed in the group. Administrating the group by tracking and reporting attendance to the small group coordinators and maintaining regular communication with small group members. Experience/Skills: Spiritual maturity, prior participation in an OCBF small group, completion of facilitator application, interview, and facilitator training. Schedule: Groups meet two times a month with an additional third time for fellowship. Attendance at regular ministry and training meetings is also required. Couples Small Group Facilitator Summary: A Couples small group facilitator will oversee a group of no more than people (6 to 7 couples). The facilitator will be responsible for encouraging relationships and connectivity within the small group and directing a discussion of an approved couples study curriculum. Details: Serve as a leader by hosting meetings on a monthly basis in the home or some other designated location. Use the specified couples curriculum and follow the listed meeting and activity schedule. Experience/Skills: Spiritual maturity, prior participation in an OCBF small group, completion of facilitator application, interview, and facilitator training. Schedule: Meet with couples on a monthly basis. Attend bi-monthly ministry meetings. Attend annual facilitator training. Spend 1 hour a week communicating with group members. Singles Small Group Facilitator Summary: The Small Group ministry is the flagship ministry of the Singles Ministry. Its purpose is to connect singles to each other in a small group setting so that group members can hold each other accountable to grow together in Christ. Details: Meeting once a month for study of approved book and social outing. Keep members accountable, pray for group members, contact members on a monthly basis, and keep members abreast of Singles Ministry events. Maintain database and assist in recruiting and interviewing perspective small group facilitators. Experience/Skills: Spiritual maturity, prior participation in an OCBF small group, completion of facilitator application, interview, and facilitator training. Schedule: Monthly meetings with Coordinator of Singles Small Groups in addition to regularly scheduled Small Group Meetings. Required attendance at all Singles Events. COUPLES Special Events Summary: Couples who desires to support the ministry leaders in providing events designed to encourage couples and strengthen marriages. Details: Maintain presence at Fellowship table on church campus. Make calls to enlist volunteers. Encourage attendance at events. Serve as greeters, ushers, and in other capacities at events. Experience/Skills: A positive attitude and a gracious spirit, dependable and punctual, able to communicate clearly and demonstrate a hospitable personality. Schedule: Various time slots available during the planning cycle and carrying out ministry events. Attend ministry monthly meeting. 19

20 Marriage Mentors Summary: Serve as a mentor couple by modeling a healthy marriage and building a caring relationship with another couple. Details: The goal of Marriage Mentors is to provide biblical guidance and couple role models to couples seeking to improve their marital relationships. Mentees meet with their mentors weekly or bi- weekly for biblical instruction, spiritual encouragement, and to develop positive friendships. Experience/Skills: A positive attitude, a gracious spirit, and currently in a healthy marriage. PLEASE NOTE: A pre-screening process is required for those wishing to serve as a marriage mentor. Schedule: Varies depending on volunteer availability. Attend monthly meetings. SINGLES Singles Night Summary: The premier event of the Ministry that consistently draws hundreds of singles from the Metroplex. Provides engaging worship, sound Biblical teaching and fosters fellowship and authentic community through creative and relevant ministry methods so non-believers, new believers and growing believers can be better imitators of Christ. Details: Assist to determine the theme of the month, speakers, worship team and special guests. Ensure that everything runs according to schedule. Debrief with Singles team regarding program elements and execution after the event. Experience/Skills: Love for Christ and His Ministry.
