Cards for May events are available on the tables in the narthex and fellowship Hall. Help yourself. Men s Fellowship Breakfast, Wednesday, May 4, 8:00 a.m. - speaker Jamie Bullis will tell us about the newly created Chosen Ranch for abused, abandoned, neglected and homeless children near Alpena. (Jamie on the right). Details regarding Jaime Bullis are in the April Carillon and on the church website Women s Bible Study resumed on Thursday, April 28 at 7:00 pm in the lounge. Please come and bring your friends. Ladies - You are encouraged to wear your favorite hat to church on Sunday, May 8 in celebration of Mother s Day. You do not need to be a mother participate. Save the date - The Trustees are planning to have a spring work bee on Saturday, May 14 beginning at 9:00 a.m. A schedule of tasks to be done are being compiled and will include both indoor and outdoor chores. If you are able to help us out, please place your name on the sign-up sheet in fellowship hall. Remember, many hands make light work. Bring your convertibles (and other vehicles), along with your friends and neighbors, for burgers and dogs in the church parking lot while listening to music from the 50's. SCRIP is available today and all week long - see Ruth or Becky. Requested Announcements God calls his people to prayer. Please join with other fellow believers as we gather as a community on the National Day of Prayer, Thursday, May 5 at 12:00 p.m. to uplift our nation and its people during these concerning times. Please meet at Fremont s Veterans Memorial Park band shell at noon as we turn to God and seek His face and His hand of blessing in a time of prayer for our country. Nationally-noted speaker and filmmaker Curtis Bowers will offer a brief meditation and inspirational music will be provided by his family. Michigan Blood Drive - We need individuals willing to donate blood. It takes about 45 minutes to an hour and helps to save the lives of many. There currently is a shortage of blood in Michigan, so much so that they have had to lower the number for when blood can be used to patients. PLEASE consider this life giving gift!! The blood drive is Thursday, May 5 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm at First Reformed Church, 348 E. Main St. Fremont. Appointments can be made online or by contacting Pat or MaryJo in the church office, Walk-ins are also welcome! Flower Sale at Bill's Shop'N'Save on Saturday, May 7th from 8-11:30 a.m. Proceeds from this sale will benefit the Wellspring Adult Day Services held at Reeman Christian Reformed Church. An exciting evening of music is coming to our area Singing Hims, a men's ensemble from the larger Grand Rapids area, is on tour to celebrate their 40 year anniversary, and they will be in Newaygo at Family of God Community Church on Friday, May 20! The concert, beginning at 7 p.m., will be a fund-raiser for HOPE 101--a transitional housing ministry in Newaygo. Check out the Singing Hims at thesinginghims.org. The King s Choraliers will be in concert on Sunday, May 22, 6:00 p.m. at the First Christian Reformed Church. A free will offering will be received for the Bible League.

5 Announcing ConGo Enjoy-Meant Events We are ConGo (Christians on the Go) and meant to go and enjoy good food and fun activities together! Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength. Neh. 8:10 Go and enjoy : Sunday, May 22- Canada's Victoria Day Party, 5:30-7:30pm- Help Pastor Ray celebrate Victoria Day (even if it's the first time he's ever celebrated it) with a fun evening of Canadian Food (feature Pastor Ray's favorite Canadian delicacy, "Poutine") Victorian Food, and, of course Canadian and Victorian trivia! Optional- dress like a Canadian, Victorian, or (for extra credit) a Victorian Canadian! Wednesday, June 29- Campfire and Pool Party at the Nadeaus, 6:30-8:30pm- Van and Judy's fire pit was made for big groups so let's make one as we gather for fun, fellowship and food (campfire treats)! If it s hot out and you want to cool off the pool will be open. Address is 4864 W High Ln, Fremont Monday, July 18- Campfire and Boat Rides at the Morehouses, 6:30-8:30pm- Fellowship and a campfire around Dean and Jean's lakeside firepit with boat rides by Captain Dean to boot. If you're a good sailor, he might let ya drive the boat! Campfire Treats, too! If its hot out and you want to cool off the lake will be open. Address is 6163 Lakeview Dr., Fremont. Saturday, July 30- Tailgate Party and Whitecaps Baseball Game- Come to one or both! Tailgate Party starts at 4:00pm in the church parking lot and lawn. Hot dogs, brats, chips and water provided for a contribution. Bring your own softdrinks if you'd like. Please also bring a dish to pass. Congo Caravan will depart at 5:30 for the 7:00pm game. Rides provided for any who need one. Game ticket is $ In August (Dates to be announced)- Congo Campout at Henning Park (Newaygo)- You can camp for the weekend or join the campers for Saturday activities. The pot luck time is 5:30pm but you can come earlier in the day for kayaking, tubing and games. A kayak or tube can be provided if needed (let Mat know). We'll finish the day with a campfire sing-a-long. Bring an instrument or just your voice..or just your ears!
